Jeeze, I stop looking at the main bored and you lot spring another kit thread? All the questions except "will it be stripes", "who will be our sponsor" and "what colour is the away kit" were answered in the LAST 2014/15 Kit thread, which I started in around September. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?46764-The-Much-Shorter-2014-15-Kit-Thread No point mocking anything up this year. As previously shared - it'll be something like one of these. Condivo 14 Tabe 14 Regista 14 Entrada 14 Plus this season's styles will remain in use (we've had 2 of these already so I've left out the current away kit) : Tiro : Squadra : Autheno : Estro : Keeper and shorts designs: IMG]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YXtifcQ3PDg/UgTR9KXAaOI/AAAAAAAAIf8/e2F1SyAwXq4/s738/Adidas+Onore+14+Kit.jpg[/img] That Philadelphia Union shirt is ridiculously similar to their last two as well, even knowing the ins and outs of the templates they're still near identical.

Whilst I think of it, has the 13,387 done anything to undermine the supposedly healthy state of their current ST holder figure? Removing the 61 Accrington fans leaves 13,326 in the Skate end - weren't they meant to have 14k ST holders? How does this relate to the number of *cough* "shares" they've had away with a grand for? And can we work out how many paid on the day? I don't really care, I just fancy a laugh.

Oh good God, they're nuts. They're 4 goals worse than the sides in the top 2 in individual matches, that does not translate into finishing just outside the playoffs. Even with Newport playing on a ploughed beach for the rest of the season (and losing more matches as they have to change their usual passing style) they still beat Portsmouth comfortably AT FRATTON just before Christmas, and stuffed them in the JPT at Rodney Parade as well. Then there's the little matter of Portsmouth's actual wins: they beat Rochdale (3rd) and Burton (5th) but that was before 6th October. They beat the teams in 14th, 15th,16th - but all before 3rd November. And they beat 13th placed Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day. They beat Wimbledon who are 11th recently, but AFCW hadn't won a match this year at that point, and have played more games than most of the teams around them so are in an inflated position. Aside from that, they've beaten the teams in 21st and 22nd. Nine league wins in 33 matches. Where are these wins suddenly going to come from to launch them into the top 8 (and frankly who cares about coming 8th anyway)?

Oh yeah, I knew that yesterday...

Good to see everyone else (except Torquay) picking up points last night, when I mentioned that they'd "played all their easy games for a couple of months" I may have forgotten last night's. Still, leaders Chesterfield away on Saturday (though Cheltenham at home after that). March 2014 Chesterfield v Portsmouth Mon 3 Mar 19:45 (1st) Portsmouth v Cheltenham Sat 8 Mar 15:00 (17th) Portsmouth v Burton Tue 11 Mar 19:45 (5th) Fleetwood v Portsmouth Sat 15 Mar 15:00 (6th) Portsmouth v York Sat 22 Mar 15:00 (12th) Rochdale v Portsmouth Tue 25 Mar 19:45 (3rd) Newport v Portsmouth Sat 29 Mar 15:00 (9th but on an awful run) April 2014 Portsmouth v Hartlepool Sat 5 Apr 15:00 (10th) Dag & Red v Portsmouth Sat 12 Apr 15:00 (13th) Portsmouth v Bristol Rovers Sat 19 Apr 15:00 (19th) Northampton v Portsmouth Mon 21 Apr 15:00 (23rd but won't be by then) Bury v Portsmouth Sat 26 Apr 15:00 (15th!) May 2014 League Two Portsmouth v Plymouth Sat 3 May 15:00 (8th) I still think they'll get enough points for safety, bizarrely due to Newport's capitulation and games in hand they're only 3 points off 9th (ignoring GD), but fairly sure they're getting stuffed again on Saturday, and if Jervis gets injured they're in trouble again. 9 Newport 30 1 42 10 Hartlepool 33 -2 42 11 Wimbledon 33 -5 41 12 York 33 1 40 13 Dag & Red 32 -2 40 14 Morecambe 32 -6 40 15 Bury 31 1 39 16 Exeter 33 -5 39 17 Cheltenham 32 -7 39 18 Portsmouth 33 -11 39 19 Bristol Rovers 32 -2 38 20 Mansfield 33 -13 38 21 Wycombe 32 -4 37 22 Accrington 32 -7 37 23 Northampton 32 -16 32 24 Torquay 32 -17 30

It's actually a shame that Accrington went above them by beating Torquay, much better for us that Torquay got the points in the short term to close the gap. Having said "I can't see all the teams around them getting enough points" they all (bar one) picked up points on them on Saturday. You may also recall that around a month ago I posted about how they really needed points from their next few games because after that they were mostly playing top half sides - well they managed to pick up two wins in that time... and now they're playing the top half sides for a couple of months. They could be in the bottom 2 by the time they play the likes of Torquay, Northampton and Bristol Rovers at the end of the season.

Let's put it this way, I started posting on Saints Forever in October 2003, and this is the first time I've gone literally weeks without even looking at this board. If it wasn't for the nutjob thread I probably wouldn't look at all. Same boring tripe from the same boring posters jumping all over every single thread and loving it when we fail. Probably won't be paying my fiver this year.

They definitely won't be playing in the Skrill next season... Skrill have cancelled the league sponsorship after only one season.
-
I think they've probably got enough to stay up now, they usually plummet, recover slightly immediately after the transfer window and then plummet further, but I can't see enough of the sides below them picking up enough points and I think they're better than the worst two sides in the league. Also slightly worried about Newport's playoff hopes, now they've forgotten how to play football after two months of postponements.

It appears Sir Rickie is not playing to his usually high standards

He's got a great touch and is very good at set pieces. -
I'm now expecting them to terminate his contract whilst he's on loan to Oxford as he can't physically play for them... Oh and re: Conor Washington from Newport signing for Peterborough (gutted), I doubt that would have impacted on Posh's interest in Wallace as they also sold a striker to Newport the same day - the only reason it wasn't a swap deal presumably being that St Ives FC would have been scammed out of their significant sell on clause by doing that, and it appears Newport and Peterborough have more integrity than some clubs we could mention. Either way, Peterborough have the same number of players as they had before the Washington signing. Slightly concerned that the Skates have hit form in the past two matches, but a quick look at the Wycombe highlights showed they were pretty spawny. Apologies for the link to PFC Official youtube, but it what universe is THIS a "showreel" of goalkeeping? Especially after the same keeper dived over the ball on Saturday to cost them 2 points. The first 2 shots hit the post, 3rd is ok, 4th is actually decent, 5th is hilariously bad defending and a shot straight at him. So 2 useful saves in 90 minutes now gets its own video, wowee!
-
I booed the hell out of him, and I don't understand why any other Saints fan wouldn't too. His actions in jumping ship threatened to undermine our ability to keep young players whilst we were outside the Premier League, and he wasn't prepared to put in the work to get up the leagues as part of our club.

Parking back to 30 minutes FOC for the ticket office and shop
The9 replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Too late for all that nonsense, I'm now out of the habit of wasting hours staring at Saints kit hanging up, they'll never get my custom back. Oh and Fwiw a mate went 16 minutes without getting charged over a week ago... -
I can't see us picking anything resembling a first team for this, despite our guaranteed 9th in the Prem. Gazzaniga/Davis (depending on Boruc's fitness for Arsenal) ------------ Chambers/Clyne (whoever's not first choice for Arsenal) Hooiveld Yoshida Fox ------------ Schneiderlin Cork ------------ Ward-Prowse Davis Guly ------------ Gallagher Subs: Gazzaniga/Davis, Clyne/Chambers, Fonte, Shaw, Reed, Rodriguez, Lallana. I don't care as long as we win, I'm not even going.
-
Well that's tangible cobblers.
-
Have you seen our fixtures in Feb and March? Patsies all over the place that even a Lovrenless defence can handle.
-
He might well be, who'll know if he doesn't get the chance to find out? Not sure many people thought Bale was going to be the world's most expensive player one day when he made his debut either...
-
Well quite. Pretty sure would take him in a second (and buy them 3 new teams with the proceeds).
-
Great player, excellent talent, clearly a nutter. Get rid after World Cup puts his value through the roof. And pick Gallagher on Saturday.
-
We won't, we're definitely coming 9th no matter what!

Let's face it, there's no way on earth that kid had £1000 in the first place, it was just a publicity stunt to get the family more attention and some dimwit at the club thought it would be an appropriate, as opposed to abhorrent, thing to do to broadcast it as part of some warped desire to show the "commitment" of some daft kid who was in no position to be making that kind of decision even if he HAD been involved in it.
-
Arf! "I know that wouldn't happen here because the board are all pompey, I just wanted to help the club some more before the scheduled deadline" "The board at Port Vale were all Port Vale too. Have you never read Lord of the Flies moosh?" Made me laugh. I'm also "enjoying" the Secret Footballer books, some lovely little quotes.
-
Nice statement that, I enjoy the little digs at the bits she obviously wasn't pleased about. Still, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater, the previous regime had some good ideas - I'd be completely in support of the next match programme not mentioning the previous incumbent of the Chair role at all, for instance.

Just under £400k. They had Darren Peacock in the team at the time too, who was transferred for £2m to Newcastle within 3 years.
