The9 replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I think the clue might be in here at number 5. http://www.newcastleunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/toon_boss_makes_top_10_richest_list_705124/index.shtml NONE of us knows how much of Markus' dosh was set aside for this little project... -

I have highlighted the problem with it for most people who have criticised. -
Yeah - actually I should point out that they may have had 2 tills working - but even if they did the queue was only moving at 1 per minute. Glad I was able to put some perspective on it without getting jumped all over on here as well. Quite surprised actually, there's usually someone to do it even if it makes perfect sense to me ! Also, when I said the Stadium shop was "completely empty" (at around 10:30am) actually it's been clarified that they "didn't have to wait long" at the till, but did have to queue for shirt printing. Which to be fair I've also had to do every time I've ever had a shirt printed in there, ever.

Ormerod sounds very very slightly like haemorrhoid.
-
Only if they somehow manage to be liquidated, create a completely new club and get promoted about 5 divisions in the next month...

I shouldn't think he's worried, as I've pointed out elsewhere, he's already wearing "Olympic Pink" boots which match the adidas Albert match ball, which is a horrendous white and pink Olympic logo branded reworking of the Tango ball. As far as the kit goes, there's a slightly more tasteful white/grey away kit. If they play Argentina they'll have Stoke v Saints kind of problems...

Rodriguez qualifies as u23 as his birthday is after the cut off date which is 1 Jan 1989. Lallana doesn't, born May 1988.
-
I have been reliably informed that the Megastore at the stadium was completely empty this morning when one of my mates got hers.
-
The old Liverpool shirt had white pinstripes as well, just for the record. You'd need a pencil to add the extremely traditional grey "stripes" though. Oh, and the away kit (which I do like), looks remarkably like Liverpool's away kit in 2010/11. It was white with red pinstripes anyway.

Percentage of new season ticket holders who didn't see a game last season

Some people like football. -
Is it just me, or did the way Spain play remind you of anyone...?

I believe you may have just unwittingly given us all an insight into just precisely HOW insane your expectations are. -
They knocked 25% off the black anniversary kit and only wore it once afterwards in 2010/11...
-
Pop over to the new kit thread and try and find one of those combinations that doesn't clash with Stoke's home kit, which has white shorts and socks.
-
That's not really the same as actively flogging it off cheap though.
-
It was absolutely not published at time of release as claimed above anyway, I know that much for absolutely certain. That's also the bit that I think makes no sense, but then it's not unprecedented that we leave money on the table with some kit decisions...
-
Depends what was in the contract they signed, doesn't it ?

Come on now, our kits are nothing like alike - Spain have played in red and yellow stripes pretty recently. -

Both teams try to pass it, but that's where the similarities end. Also, the only time last season we tried to play without a striker on the pitch was when Lambert got sent off at Brighton. Yes, I know Forte was on there... -
That doesn't necessarily mean a "new" third kit though, Umbro haven't produced 3 kits for anyone in a season for ages and their teams with 3 kits use one from the previous season. Even Man City did that last year, and they're not short of a few quid.

Cheapest : Short sleeve shirt £42 Prem badges £6 Get name and number done elsewhere £10 £58. Long sleeved is £5 more, Saints shirt printing is £2 more.
-
But isn't the lack of community involvement exactly the reason to keep the only consistent iconography -the kit style, the badge... the location... That's about it?

Because we had two colours of socks worn fairly regularly, white was the first choice away and blue the alternate colour for when we played teams with white socks. Though they wore white socks at Burnley which was stupid as so did Burnley so they probably scrambled to chuck that together as an option after that. As they didn't have away socks of any kind in the club shop until around Xmas they actually went on sale together, even though the blue socks were never "launched". My question is where are the alternate shorts from 2003 cup semi, alt black home socks from 2006 from playing Leicester and White shorts from another match, and the red alt shorts and socks with the grey kit of 2007/8? Just remembered the 2007 yellow kit had yellow alt shorts too.
-
Seems unlikely given that's the launch day for the away kit sales. And also that the reason we're not wearing stripes is because the club thinks we're more likely to buy something else as we all have stripes already, and the same argument goes for yellow away kits.
-
The bonkers bit is that by changing we look like more other teams than we do keeping stripes.
