Unless I'm mistaken, doesn't the bloke who owns the club have about two and a half billion quid washing around ? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have any cashflow problems. Also, if that's the intention, why not tell people 6 months ago that that was the intention so they could prepare for it ? And why leave it so late to announce the prices and sell the tickets ? They could have had my money in March if they'd been organised enough to sell STs then but funnily enough I don't have it going spare now. Claiming it's being done "early" ignores that we're 23rd out of 24 in this division to announce prices.

That would be why a lot of people are saying they won't be buying/able to buy Season tickets then. That and not being able to spread the payments. If it was just a matter of finding about £50 for each of the next 6 months... not really a problem.

That was an aberration caused by administration - all other years since we moved to St Mary's and STs became easily accessible it was done on finance.

This of course ignores all the people who already HAVE a credit card, all those who would have saved IF they'd known the club wasn't going to have an instalment plan, and even those who, despite having plenty of disposable income most of the time, are committed to other expenditure this month and not in a position to stump up £328+ unexpectedly. There are a LOT of people affected, it's a ridiculous decision.

Happy to state here and now that I think we'll have fewer ST holders than last season unless a payment plan is sorted.

If the Echo DON'T run it as a complete hatchet job they're missing a trick. I for one have absolutely NO chance of being able to fork out £328 in one go, and nor does my other half. It's not down to any lack of planning either, there just isn't enough money at this time of year. It's fcking preposterous to keep this information secret for no particular reason and then launch it half a day before people are expected to find the money, in fact. Fifty quid over 6 months, yeah I can manage that - and have done for the last 5 or so years one way or another - but not all in one go. There's a fcking recession on over here in the real world... Cortese seems to be making misjudgement after misjudgement at the moment. If the idea is to price people out then it'll work, if the idea is to exploit our expected success, then all he's going to do is p155 off people who would otherwise happily stump up the cash.

I'm still peed off about us getting booted from the Premier League reserve league when the first team got relegated - we were one of the best sides in that with all the academy players getting useful run outs against decent opponents every match.

There is not a single shred of evidence in that article to support the headline. Pure speculation - as was the Echo article on the weekend / start of the week saying exactly the same thing. Hell, even on HERE we've struggled to put a new spin on the tired "waiting for STs" thread, dunno why the Echo thinks they can string it out. I guess at some point the club HAS to announce something, and if they keep saying "soon" then eventually they'll be right.
