And shinpads Nah, I only wear my shirt at matches and the rest of it for 5-a-side (whilst trying not to match)... as you well know !

Oh yeah, and as for "reversible kits", Man U did it in 1999 and they suck.
-
White if they're "authentic" to the original (and with black socks, not red as suggested above), or black if they just go with more recent Saints colours. Personally I'd like the full white w/sash, white, black as originally used - with alternative black shorts and white or red socks because the yellow/blue away kit won't "go". As long as they sell 'em all and don't do the annoying thing of not flogging the alternative colours (notably this season's occasional red away socks, last season's red socks (and red shorts), the white shorts of the 2003 semi-final, black socks with red turnovers worn at Leicester in CCC, white shorts worn at Watford in the CCC, the entirely non-replica Anniversary Cup win yellow shirts, etc.). I don't really mind what they do as long as I can actually buy it if they wear it.

In case anyone was wondering, the white shirt with plain red diagonal I posted already is called the "Vasco" in Umbro's teamwear range. I'd be inclined to think it's not going to be THAT obvious... I really like the Athletic Bilbao shirt - which isn't something I'd say for all of them - THEIR 100th Anniversary shirt (made by Kappa) is bloody horrible, because I own one.

Indeed, he was merely indicating that large groups of people unquestioningly accepting biased information as fact is a disturbing thing that can have extremely unpleasant consequences if the biased information is intended for nefarious means. And if you don't understand that you're a thick nazi mong.

Seems like a reasonable signing if we can rip off the Skates, Mullins has worked for Pardew before but I wouldn't like to think the kind of inflated wages he'd be getting...
-
How about this one ? Universidad de San Martin Being passed off as "tailored" as it has the tweaked Umbro logo, plain home kit the same style as this season's Sunderland kit (which wasn't "Tailored" branded) and a rather familiar away kit... Or these Club Universitario shirts :

I like the diagonal "sash" thing, and I like plain striped shirts too. A combination of the two would probably be hideous and be more akin to paying tribute to the Branfoot "Pony Tick" years. Umbro already sell the diagonal kit as part of its teamwear range this season, fwiw :

Kinda supports my theory that if you get to a certain point in professional football you can ride it for at least 5 years until you get completely found out...
-
"Who are ya?" was around for at least 15 years before Birmingham fans started doing it for substitutions about 5 years ago.

Is that the QPR fan thing ? Boy I'm being lazy here, but I've seen that before.

For the record, my knee ligament damage was caused by some kant scissor-tackling me from behind half way up my leg and him twisting my knee between his legs as I fell forward, not by wearing soles which are more comfortable on firm ground. Though I do think any of the blades with a circular configuration (eg Umbro XAI) were absolutely asking for trouble regarding ligaments, and I can't see how Puma have managed to sell a single pair of boots with only forward-pointing blades when it guarantees you'll fall over every time you change direction because there's no lateral traction. I used to have a cheap pair of Umbros which only had forward-pointing shallow blades, and it was like wearing glass, all that happened was every time I wanted to stop or turn the plastic sole-plate touched the grass and I slipped over. Makes you wonder how much they actually test these things in the real world... not as much as FourFourTwo's "science supplement" this month would suggest, I'd guess.

My point was exactly that - in previous years any only rubbish playing for a top 2 league side would get a cap because the pinnacle of league football in Wales was getting a game for a third tier team, but now there are two squads of CCC standard players in the equation, a lot of whom are welsh and still U-21. When Lloyd James got his early Wales U-21 caps he was a touted Saints reserve in a side that was where Cardiff and Swansea are now - now he's struggling to get in a side that's a league lower. In that light, it's not surprising that Poolis got a few U-21 caps when he was at a CCC side (and then a Prem side, FFS) who were doing better than the two welsh Football League clubs.

Errrrrrm, aside from one when the ball bounced straight over him into the net from a throw-in at some point in the last 12 months (which didn't cost us a goal) you're now going back to a season when we were Championship Play-Off contenders. I don't think there can be more than one other person even still playing for Saints that was in those matches, so maybe now would be a good time to forget about them, accept that they were anomalies and that he's done more than enough in the meantime to compensate for them, and move on ? He's also clearly saved us some points this season on top of not costing us any, though he hasn't saved as many points as last year because we have something resembling a competent defence playing a division lower so he has less to do.

Murty in summer move to AFCB un-shocker ?

Until the last 10 seconds anyway...

This is true, and at that point the ref would have had to have given the initial foul becuase he can't offer an advantage to Carlisle any more (as their "advantage" would be conceding a free-kick). So he got it spot on.
-
I don't think so.

Smart move given that it's been Liberal/SDP/Alliance/Lib Dem policy since at least 1985 and it's also the only way to get themselves more representation - or "fair" representation if you agree that Parliament should reflect the exact breakdown of voter intentions, rather than just making the majority of votes count for nothing.
-
How many are changing their vote from last time?

You mock, but that's the exact kind of non policy-based garbage that will hoover up the votes of the mehbothered usual non-voters and the incredibly simple. And as we know, there are shiiiitloads of them out there, all with a potential vote with the same value as yours or mine. -
Made me laugh.

Ok, so YOU have more dislike for Plymouth. I couldn't really care less about either of them and have a significant dislike for Cardiff City, but I'm not on here claiming Saints hate Cardiff more than Pompey/AFCB/Spurs, am I ? There is quite some split in the Saints fanbase regarding Bournemouth - a lot of people seem to like them as plucky local underdogs, a lot seem to dislike them due to (some of) their fans noticably not liking us. Sometimes the dislike is due to this following the efforts Saints made to help keep them in business in the 90s being met with "scummer"-type abuse. I will be happy to adopt "Hampshire rejects" as an amusing chant next season though.

"Starting" outside doesn't mean anything, if the foul is still being perpetrated inside the box it's a penalty - like the Kalou incident on the weekend, he was fouled twice outside the box, the ref played advantage, then he fell over whilst still being fouled in the box, where the penalty is clearly better than any advantage from the position he was in.

If you're a professional footballer under the age of 21 in Wales (or eligible for Wales) it's practically compulsory, especially in the last 4 years when about half the eligible U-21s (eg Hennessey, Bale, Nyatanga, Ramsey) have been in the senior side already. One of life's great mysteries so far is Lloyd James' failure to win a Wales senior cap, given that he's Welsh, has got a pulse and gets paid to play, but he's still got a load of U-21 caps. Recently they've all been going to Swansea and Cardiff fringe players though.

If I was him I'd be dragging myself around any club that would have me until my dad's influence completely wore off - where else will he make the kind of money he must be on at Saints in comparison to a 9-5 job ?
