Oh dear.

Careful you will be told you are wrong by the residents as professional footballers cannot get fit in that timeframe after having an extra weeks holiday.

PRE-SEASON: Southampton vs Beşiktaş - (17:30 BST)

So 2 professional footballers who have played games recently and who are expected to keep up a reasonable level of fitness anyway are not deemed capable of playing 45mins. I would of thought this would aid their programme. -

cant believe yoshida and Ramirez are not fit enough for 45 mins. -
Whatever the issue is with boruc I hope its sorted quickly

Nobody else is going to sign until we match wanyamas 50 page thread. Osvaldo was not happy that he was so far behind and feels unwanted by the swf.
-
Dougal was near the back of block 3 for the last few games of last season.
-
Surely though they phone MLG as well to get his opinion.

The end of the world, well you would think so reading this place.

If this is true it is quite a jump in value for us which brings with it the problem of wages. Players who change clubs for that sort of cash I would assume would command a lot higher weekly wage than we could cover. If Ramirez is our highest earner on roughly 50k a week then we would have to blow that out of the water to land him. I am not sure if the club are capable of paying the wages necessary. Whilst I admire cortese ambition in the transfer market we have to realise that transfer fees on this scale really do mean we are competing with the big boys which means big boys wages. Do people really think we can attract that type of player with what we have to offer, the dream is one thing but bringing it to fruition is another.

Who gives a ****, the footballing world could not give a **** about our kit and quite frankly nor could I. As kits go it is a bog standard effort and I agree that there are far better templates out there we could of used but I certainly don't spend a fortune every year to watch our kit. If you don't like it fine but jesus its only a football kit.
-
For him to say he wants Cardiff to get a bid accepted probably means he knows they are offering him more. I would of thought that would be enough for cortese to move on. So wanyama is not happy with the money, the Belgian is happy with the money but wants to see if another club comes in for him which leaves benega who we don't really know if we have tabled a bid for or not. Osvaldo does not want to come here as we do not excite him so moving up to this next level is going to be quite tricky is it not.
-
I am afraid it is highly unlikely we will sign either Wanyama or Benega as i believe little old Southampton is just not going to cut the mustard for their egos. They both seem to want bigger clubs and if Arsenal / Inter are interested the players and agents will do all they can to secure a move to them. This is why it will be very difficuilt to break into that next level, we may think we have money but the players we are now supposedly courting will be on bigger fishes radar who have more money and the lure of European football. Yes we signed Ramirez and Lovren and i really hope we can improve this season but i feel people are getting carried away with things, our chances of signing these players will probably only happen at the end of the window if they cannot get their preffered moves.
-
Well Verdu and Bueno etc have obviously not bought in to the project. Perhaps we have run out of DVD'S or maybe they have seen the new kit and done a runner. Apparently the club make all potential signings spend an hour on here and then have to answer questions about posters.
-
Well i am off to Italy next Saturday so I will try and find Cortese. I am sure the mrs will be happy that I am lurking with the camera looking for the Don.
-
I assume at some point he will be moving his wife and kids over here ? or not. It would not be practical to leave them in spain surely. Maybe he has known this for a while which is why they are still in spain. Having signed a long contract I would of thought he would be desperate for tem to be with him.
-
Well this seems to put pay to the 50,000 seater stadium that we desperately need then. Perhaps cortese has found his alternative finance who are willing to push the club on further than the current owners are prepared to but they will not sell. Perhaps the current owners want to sell and cortese doesn't have any other finance. Perhaps the current owners are not happy with the required finance needed for the champions league spot next season. Perhaps they are all not happy that we only just avoided relegation which whilst I am sure they all wanted better, we can still finish in a respectable position gaining good prize money. Perhaps the current owners have now refused to sanction the couple of signings we had already lined up. A lot of supposition has been spouted but I doubt anyone can be seriously stupid enough to take it this far either cortese or the owners if its about this seasons football. The direction for next season is a fair guess I would say but whatever is happening needs to be resolved soon or this thread will wipe the floor with the gaston signing thread.

Sunderland 1-1 SAINTS // Post-Match Reaction
northam soul replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Well I guess we are safe but we are a long way off the dizzy heights of a top ten club. We really need some quality added in the summer which I am sure cortese will oblige too. Well done punch I am not sure why you havnt been in the side ahead of our captain as you offer much more. -
Another football know it all, just like all the other games that teams wouldn't win eh.
-
So still not safe then and other results going against us, I thought according to this board that was not possible.

Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
northam soul replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Oh dear last game nail biter again me thinks.Perhaps all those we are safe brigade will now acknowledge we are in real danger. Still in our hands but we really are going to have to get something at sunderland. -
Either you are a goalkeeper on Southamptons books or you really do get the prize for Cock of the year even by the standard of crap spouted by others.

The Itchen North was pretty quiet yesterday but it hasn't been great of late. We do desperately need some new songs.
