According to my translation, the second article claims Saints are doing this deal via Promes’ agent, which must be a good sign that he’s on board with coming to Saints, if it is true. Promes getting a percentage of the transfer fee is probably helpful for his decision making as well.

He’s won 4 PL games all season. We are in the relegation zone, with a mid-table caliber squad that should not be anywhere near the relegation zone. I simply can’t see why people would want to slate him. Seems completely irrational to me.

I wasn’t sure if McQueen’s absence was due to flu or injury. The last thing I read he had been training alone and would be rejoining the team shortly. In any event, it sounds like Pied put in a decent shift at LB after Bertrand came off. It seems to me that either McQueen or Targett had to go out on loan, for the playing time. You can’t have both playing a backup role to Bertrand.

What an interesting post-match thread. There’s a real dichotomy of opinion. I listened to the game on the OS and it is fair to say that both Blackmore and Merrington put in a lot of effort remarking negativity about the Boufal for Yoshi sub. I myself was expecting Cedric to come off because it sounded like he was getting clattered out there and keeping him fresh and ready to go for Brighton seems important. On the face of it the sub was like an invitation for them to attack, while at the same time removing an attacking outlet. Perhaps it was just a reaction to Watford putting three forwards on. The good news is we have a win, and a decent little streak of games without loss. Hopefully the side have something positive to carry forward to the all-important Brighton game.

That’s my worry.
