  1. On a serious note, Egypt. £500 gets you an all inclusive holiday in Hurghada, get treated like a king, because you are English and the rest are Germans and Russians. But 200 ciggys for £5, if you smoke then bring back 12 crates and it's paid for your holiday, if you don't smoke then bring back 20 and sell them, it's still paid for your holiday. BARGAIN!!!
  2. I hope you put a bag on it when you were up to your nuts in guts, if you didn't then get yourself checked out and don't be offended if I decline to shake your hand if I see you at Carlisle!
  3. I went to Norwich last year for a training course, what a sh!thole, no wonder they don't have anything better to do than watch football.
  4. As they do at Aldgate ( sorry )
  5. They can't sell until we have new owners, even if Season Tickets don't go on sale until after the season has started. There is some 'act' that prevents doing suchlike. You can understand it too, to be fair. There could be a loophole if disclaimers had to be signed I suppose, but they wouldn't go through with it until we knew we were good for the season.
  6. Noooooo, Come on Scunny! Millwall is always fun!
  7. NO Jester Hats Eric, I'll still be the best dressed lad in Cumbria, just acting like a bit of a scarfer for the day.
  8. Well it will be either League one, or Blue Square/Blue Square South ( depending on which rules you look at ) Southampton FC will not die, SLH might die, but Southampton FC Ltd will be allowed to continue but will be relegated 2 or 3 divisions.
  9. I can't wait for Carlisle, although as I have half of my family as season ticket holders, I fear that I will have to do the sensible thing and go to the local working mens club with them and walk to the ground early to take pictures and get a programme to get autographs and suchlike... I am hoping for a midweek Carlisle away game, so nobody will see me being a scarfer for the day. :-(
  10. Nah, he's got that date reserved for Carlisle away. edit - lee beat me too it! edit edit - Carlisle will probably be the New Years Day game thinking of it!
  11. How did I forget that one?! I have a feeling that it would be played at Fratton Park if worse came to worse, and almost certainly a 'bubble' game.
  12. Southend Away for me, I think I am still sobering up from the last visit. If it's not to be then an Eastleigh derby would be a tasty opener!
  13. The people that have not turned up for the last two years at SMS played a part in administration, you could even say that if they didn't walk away then we wouldn't be in administration... that is almost 100% true. If the gates had been 5000 up in the last two seasons, then based on an average ticket of £20, we would have been pushing £5million in gate receipts, enough to make a massive dent in the overdraft and pay the mortgage. Add an average per person spend of £3 on food, that's an extra £700k , add to that say, another £1m in the megastore. Then chuck in another £1m or so Corporates and you are looking about £8m Then look at the sponsors, costing of sponsorship is all relative to how many people view it and is based on home attendances. So all in all, you could safely estimate that 5000 less fans equals nearly £10m in revenue over the last two years. BUT, you cannot blame the fans for not wanting to turn up, there is only a percentage of us, all for our own personal reasons, who turn up at SMS each week, regardless of performance. My excuse is it gives me a release from being a quiet family man and worker during the other 6 days of the week, other people have other reasons, I am no more loyal than the people who have not turned up.... I use SFC for my own selfish reasons, and certainly not due to my undieing loyalty to SFC You cannot blame the fans, you can't however, fail to realise that if we had an average gate of 5000 more, then we wouldn't be in administration.
  14. At the end of the day if there are no other bids accepted then there are two choices.... a) Get behind their bid and support the lads, appreciate that these guys have saved SFC from extinction. b) F*ck off and watch Eastleigh. If Lowe was to come back then I would choose 'b' , but as he is not, and having met Jackson and I think his heart is in the right place, I think I would give these guys my support. Now is not the time to question people, it is not the time to ask for more, it is not the time to be fussy..... .... it is time to sit back and appreciate that we need somebody/anybody to buy the club and at least see us in the fixture lists which are set when the league meets on June 12th.
  15. Their initial finance both here when they looked into it before and Bournemouth was from Dubai, is this still the case?
  16. Why don't you just look for the cheapest quote in the first place, which would not be going through A-Plan or Direct Line. Stupid, just stupid imho. I have yet to see anyone that can get a cheaper quote than using compare the market or confused. Oh, and the answer to your question is that they will have given you the quote of one of their 'preffered' providers first, this will be someone who will pay an extra premium in their search listings to come up first.
  17. Merringtons, she was quite alright, back in the day.
  18. I once saw his daughters boobs. True story.
  19. Yep. Anyone who gets a testimonial has the right to call themselves a legend. Performance-wise, Lundekvam was twice the player Benali was, and he is classed as a Southampton 'legend' Benali is a legend for having absolutely no skill and still managing to get into a Saints team, time and time again. Once again, anyone who has a testimonialhas the right to be classed as a legend. 357 appearances for Southampton makes Claus just that.
  20. As a CEO there wouldn't be much better, as long as he completely cut ties with Askham and Lowe.
  21. Jackson is not the money man, he is brokering a deal and acting as the middle man, basically using the contacts he has built up in his previous job, to build a consortium. It is not Jackson you should be asking the questions about, it is who is in the consortium and what sort of money they have available. If they come in then I would expect Cowan back as CEO quicker than you can say 'takeover' though.
  22. Exactly, he is still a legend, anyone who qualifies for a Testimonial deserves that status. What he done on the pitch, and what he does off the pitch are two completely different things and I will hold different opinions for each.
  23. And how do you know I have never been affected by the loss of a family member due to a drink driver? You are wrong Weston, I have, 2 infact, and an unborn cousin, in probably one of the most public incidents which involved speeding and 'suspected' ( he was ****ed, the French c*nts just didn't test him )drink driving which killed 11 people. I just don't wish to link Lundekvam as a player to him being a **** now he is retired.
  24. Meh, check out all you gumbo's. I personally don't give a f*ck what Claus does in his own time, especially now when he has absolutely nothing to do with SFC. Get off your high horses people, legends make their names on that green bit of grass on the pitch, they don't lose that status for what they do off it, when they have retired.
  25. Thinking of you Claus at this tough time for you and your family. xx
