.... lol, nevermind, the idea was good whilst it lasts. Can anyone else not help but think that the money everyone has spunked up the wall to pay for the players wages has gone completely to waste? £91k pledged ( not given, pledged ) to the cause.... not even enough to pay the wage bill for a couple of days, let alone have any impact in taking the club over. Can't say I am suprised about the All-Stars match, ok it wasn't advertised well, infact it is probably the worst piece of marketing I have ever seen, if Lawrie had to phone 30 players to say it was cancelled, why didn't we know about any of them? Maybe people would have bought a ticket if they had been privvy to who was actually playing! These last few weeks have been yet another example and the nail in the coffin to prove that fan participation never works. Let's hope we get taken over sooner rather than later, leave the pledging to the big boys who can really make a difference and hope that a brighter future is round the corner. Makes me sick to think I have put money in the buckets etc whilst the players have not donated a dime between them. Just another sad and hopefully final chapter in a completely embarrasing 5 years. Let's hope for a new book with a better storyline to be released soon.

I think that was Marc Jacksons lots bid and I imagine they are now out of the running?

What? Where?!?!? To be fair, it's not spamming because the site is not even open properly until 1st August!
-
As I said, bit of everything! The forum is not for that to be fair, but there is going to be elements of links to 'Casuals' sites, history and other aspects of Terrace Culture. Like it or not, it's a big part of footballs history, and although it won't be glorifed, it will be covered, as well as many other subjects not covered on your traditional 'ground guides' . One thing that I have completed last night ( but won't be added until 1st August ) is a comprehensive lap-dancing bar guide. I really do think of everything!

The site I have, http://www.away supporters.co.uk is a national football ground guide, so not specific to Southampton, of course it will cover all 92 teams in the league, so you could pick your pub and post it on here.

That's what I am looking at, personally I don't give a toss about the pretty pictures of the empty grounds, how much leg room I can expect, how much the burgers and pies are etc... All I want to know is what train do I get off at, what pubs do I drink in, what nightclubs and hotels are there in the area if I want to stay, and where can I get a decent fry-up before I drive/get the train home the morning after. The main section on each clubs page takes in: 1) Transport - Trains, Buses and Taxi Contacts 2) Pubs - Best away friendly pubs in area and 'out of town' , plus real ale pubs. 3) Nightlife - Both in town and further afield. 4) Food - Currys, Kebabs and Greasy Spoons 5) Hotels / B&B's - Complete with online booking system, based on distance to stadium. 6) Map 7) Hot Tips - Any other points of interest, local attractions, ideas etc or experiences. Reviews - From travelling fans. There is also a gallery, so when people come home from a game, they can post their pictures, this also helps people guage a real time image of what they can expect. Apart from a quick summary, I don't think most people care about leg room or view or if they serve a Balti Pie. I may be wrong though.

It is more focused on people who the awayday is a blur, it will tell you where the pubs are, where the strip bars are, what the nightlife is like, where to get a decent curry etc... whereas other such as footballgroundguide are more focused towards the people who either drive to away games or get the Travel Club I will put the email on as soon as I get clearance from His Bajesty!

Hello, I hope Bojio will let me keep this on here, as it is not spam, it's a Saints fan looking for help for other Saints fans! After hours of trawling through the net prior to travelling away, I found the sites on offer crap, not everyone wants to know how much legroom there is or how much a burger costs, so I have decided to set up my own review site.... It is launching 1st August after years of being trying to bother my arse to get it done. It will have in depth reviews of all 92 league grounds, galleries, good beer guides etc... basically it will focus more on people who make away days a day or weekend out. It will also be alot less serious and alot more 'fun' than some of the other football ground sites. Anyway, enough of that crap, what I am on here for is that I could really do with some help, there are 92 grounds to review, if anyone wants to write a reveiw then I would be more than happy to include it within the website. Also, any pictures you have of your away trips, whether it be on the train, in the pub, in the stadium, or anywhere else, please send them in to be used in the galleries. Lastly, if you can't be arsed to help, then your feedback on what you would find useful within a football ground guide would be most appreciated! Many Thanks SRS xx

I know, about 30 of us were staying in the Travelodge. After getting showered and changed, we made our way to Varsity. Some of my mates were already in there after blagging themselves as locals. We went to go in 2's and 3's so not to rouse suspicion. My turn... Bouncer: " Alright mate, where are you from? " Stu: "Essex, why? " Bouncer: " Where in Essex? " Stu: " Gravesend " Bouncer: "That's in Kent you stupid c*nt" Stu: " F*ck, I meant to say Grays " Bouncer: " You're not coming in this pub or any other pub, Police have advised every pub and nightclub in Southend not to let people from Southampton in " Stu: "F*ck " lol, silly me getting Grays and Gravesend mixed up. Did manage to get into a nightclub though, managed to blag it into Wetherspoons and each pick a bird who we bought a pint on entering the nightclub in return for posing as their boyfriends. The bouncers face was a sight once they realised there was 30 absolutely wasted Southampton fans in the corner of their nightclub.

Say what you like about him, he has lots and lots of contacts in the football world, and has made lots of contacts/friendships with alot of wealthy businessmen both here and abroad. He is a salesman, he won't be the money behind it, simply the broker.
-
Met Marc a few times, comes across as a decent bloke, definately has contacts in Dubai, so if he is getting the funding from there, then I couldn't give a toss to be honest. However I very much doubt anything will come of it.
-
Well I heard that Carlton Palmer has already been approached.
-
Wigley might not be a good manager, but he is one of the best coaches in the game and certainly one of the most respected.
-
Didn't say anything about Lincolshire you poof, I was comparing Newark to Lincoln, two neighbouring towns/cities. Don't try and be smart with me sunshine.
-
OK, been playing around the last few months trying to get to grips with HTML etc, now am ready to take it to the next step, what is the best web design program for a self-taught like myself? Dreamweaver? Is there any free online downloads of any that might be useful for me to practice on?
-
Lincoln is alright, once met a bird from Newark on holiday, though, went up one weekend to see her..... WHAT A F*CKING SH!THOLE!!!!!!
-
I remember that day too.... was about 30 of us staying in the Travelodge, first time I have ever had a police escort to, and inside Burger King. I don't think I have ever seen such a high percentage of p1ssed up Saints fans as Southend away! Absolute carnage, to the degree that the police had advised all pubs and clubs to check I.D's for peoples addresses in the evening, and refuse entry to anyone from Southampton. That was a harsh trip home the next day! A few puke stops on the hard shoulder on the way home I seem to recall!

Oh do be quiet you big girl.
-
I didn't swear. I said ****. Does you missus have that common as muck mockney accents?
-
Tell her to **** right off, I am quite aware how to spell it, but the predictive text on my iPhone changed it to Stroud, which obviously shows how irrelevent strood is! And no, I won't be attending any poxy match.
-
It may or may not surprise you to know that the mother of my children is a medway girl and your typical example of a blonde slapper that frequents them parts, she also has the most irritating accent in the world, ever. . . Another common theme with the medway towns of gillingham, Stroud, Chatham and Rochester . ****ing disgusting part of the world.
-
It used to be a case in southampton that if the bendy-buses went there, then you shouldn't.

... when you are in a ****hole of a place? 1) They have a Cash Convertors and a Brighthouse. 2) Lots of other Cheque Cashing places. 3) Plenty of run-down pubs. 4) Lots of bookies. 5) Charity Shops 6) Polish Food Shops 7) Everyone walks with a limp. .... yes I have just described Shirley, I had to go to the bank so popped into Shirley, I forgot just why it is named the mutant mile and how many freaks live/shop in the area!
