On the latest TSP Semmens basically said most of the rumours are rubbish but acknowledged that something could happen before too long. Not an exciting answer, but probably accurate. Either way, lets hope he (Semmens) remains involved.
  2. No suprise. Ramsay is always injured.
  3. Definitely! Lets just hope if we do get taken over that Semmens is kept in role. Also seems like he is tight with Ralph.

    Nor Walcott.
  6. Jeez that Harry Lewis error last night was a shocker. He seems to be extremely error prone and I will be utterly amazed if makes it at Saints.

    Djenepo

Think he only signed a four year contract, I would be offering an extension in the new year if he has stayed fit. When he plays he almost always makes an impact and creates chances. Also appears to be a character that adds to the dynamic rather than draining it.

I doubt JWP sees them as pointless matches. He has only recently got back into a competitive squad and is in great form. Euros on the horizon. It must be a genuine concern for him to pull out.
  10. Good that he gets a rest but bad in the sense that JWP is one of the few players that you can imagine really would not want to withdraw from a squad at this point...so it must be troubling him.
  11. Best case scenario is that he scores 20+ goals and we can sell him for close to what we paid. He isnt going to be a success in the PL, hence Ralph has loaned him out twice.
  12. So the most pressing contracts would appear to be: Urgent: Ings, Bertrand, Romeu, Bednarek Probably time to talk: Armstrong Towards the end of this season: McCarthy, Djenepo and possibly Vestergaard if he keeps his form up over a longer period, never thought I would write that.
  13. Interesting both Valery and Vokins played. Great result. U18s conceded twice in injury time to draw 3-3.
  14. Ralph is class. And he suits Saints perfectly.
  15. As is now the norm...no Saints players in any of the Eng U21, U20, U19 or U18 squads. A few years ago we probably had 8+ across those groups.
  16. Redmond was used really well as a central player in Ralph's first season, where he won Player of the Year. We obviously can't replace what Ings does, but we do have some options at least, and also sub options in those areas. With Bertrand back after the Intl break and Ings hopefully by Xmas, its not too bad compared to what it may have been.
  17. Ideally change the least amount of players, especially as RH is often referring to automatisms and the partnerships between players. In that sense, is it better to play Valery or Stephens, or even Salisu at LB, rather than moving KWP out of the position where he has played well and is used to playing with Armstrong?
  18. This will be a very tough game now with our injuries. LB will be a problem, and he hasnt got the option of using JWP on either side as Diallo is injured. Likely either Valery or Stephens will play RB with KWP shifting over to LB. I think he will go with Long up front.
  19. IMO the current order of need in our squad would be: Full back Centre mid Striker Goalkeeper Of those, only full back is needed in January.
  20. B team lost to Eastleigh on pens tonight in the Hants cup. Dreadful record this season. Eastleigh mostly fielded their own Academy players.
  21. As a player PL, Ings. No question. But SRL has legendary status that will be hard for Ings to better!

Means very little. VVD walked off the pitch with his ACL.
  24. Can't read anything into that. VVD walked off the pitch vs Everton and then is out for the season. Only the scan will show for sure, but ACL often doesn't cause swelling (RaH said there isnt any) and allows walking. Lets hope its not that.
  25. I think its more about the perception of not being given an opportunity in management or boardroom level rather than being "terrified": https://www.google.com/amp/s/talksport.com/football/716439/jermain-defoe-exclusive-rangers-coaching-career-celtic-title-bid/amp/ Whether there is truth in the lack of opportunity, I simply don't know, and neither does anyone here because we are looking from the outside with no real knowledge on it and have never been in that position. But if that is the perception from people of a minority background who have had successful careers within football then are you saying that they are wrong? From what position of knowledge are you forming that opinion? Because you can name 3 Managers who are black and got jobs in the PL across a period of 30 years? The fact they perceive it shows that there is a problem.
