I wonder if Edozie wanted to depart or Spors decided he was good enough and suggested he move?
-
Interesting that he suggests we can't play four at the back unless we have some wingers at the club but don't have any currently (with Edozie departing and Dibling unavailable at this moment). Sounds like if Dibling goes, we sign a winger, stay and be plays as a winger. No idea who fills the left side...Fraser?

How is it that David Brooks is off to championship wba one minute then starts for Bournemouth at Anfield the next? Was that transfer ever real? I'm a fan and wouldn't mind him returning, but seems very unlikely now.
-
Pretty clear from that reply that the new keeper coming in will be a number 3.
-
Good shout. Brighton don't seem scared to invest serious amounts on players, and have no issue showcasing that talent before making tidy profits... ...but at the same time, their scouting a data analytics seems to work well at finding quality players from around the world at a lot less money.
-
Sure, but anyone can insure pretty much anything against pretty much any eventuality. A player most certainly can insure themselves against loss of earnings due to injury. If you are running your contract down, it would make sense.
-
Insurance. Problem solved. Sit tight for two years and he could demand tens of millions in signing on fees.
-
Transfermarkt has him scoring some goals (a hatrick against Forrest) when he played CF, but at the start and end of season they played him wider and he didn't really score from there. Brentford see the potential and are willing to pay the inflated but going rate. Everton will come back and do the same with Dibling.
-
Ouattara £42.5m...it seems that potential comes at a price. I have a feeling we will see some increased bids for our two stars in the not too distant future.
-
He might have dropped out of favour, but you don't tend to depart Athletico for a championship side.
-
So who would you get excited about? Gilchrist from Chelsea has been mentioned on here a few times, but he looked average to me at Sheff United in the games I watched. I didn't see a player good enough to make the jump to the PL, which might make it viable, but I am not excited by that signing. I wondered if Josh Achempong might be an option?
-
yeah, both are going to be looking for wide attackers. I wonder if our request for £50m transfer fees while the have sold for £37.5m might help them win if we were both going for say a Man City or Chelsea youngster?
-
Their forward three still looks good. Would be nice if Fatawu was bought by someone.
-
I didn't see much of them last season. Did they actually replace Dewsbury-Hall?
-
That sorts out Ipswich's finances. I wonder how much they will have to spend on a replacement or have they done that already?
-
another player with the physical attributes we have badly lacked in recent years. Tall, strong and fast. Not sure how good he is technically but some of his passing looks OK. Hard to gauge quality when you are looking at the Belgium league IMO. Is the guy (no 91) he keeps setting up early on one of the strikers we are were linked to/mentioned on here or a I confusing him with someone else?
-
Hate how Man City get a massive sell on clause as well as £30m for a totally unproven PL player. Forrest (and similarily us in the past) take all the risk, and City none. The big clubs have it sewn up.
-
The fact almost every suggested team in the Ipswich thread has Sugawara playing despite him being shite in the first game says everything about our options. If we could find a gem at that position it could change everything in defence and attack.
-
I found 1993 online, which is the edition that I first played. Still as addictive as ever.
-
Midday kick off. All set up for us. Just need to keep pressing them from start right to the very end. Don't let them get a foothold in the game.
-
I don't know what Leeds offered, probably a lowish fee, but I thought that we'd seen enough at that point to know he wasn't PL player and should have let him go in January.
-
Or bid close to our asking price. He subsequently gave us a decent championship season and an ok PL season and walked for free. Did we make the right decision on the asking price...probably, but RB sure looks weak now.
-
Just for context, Brighton want £100m for Baleba. Players that have already shown they can shine in the PL do not come cheap.
-
Not sure we will abandon the the five at the back so soon, but I'd like to see us do so. Quite liked Quarshie's physicality and pace. Not sure about him positionally. If we went to four, the right back position is a concern - it is a concern in a five. The Manning/Wellington choice is interesting. The manager needs to give Wellington a run of games possibly. I thought Fraser and Robinson deserve to start, but his options are limited. Armstrong seems the only other option in the wide roles. Up front, I thought Stewart looked good in his cameo, but again, a run of games for Downs would be no bad thing.
