  1. depends on the size of the holding of the two in question. Three of the Presidents only own about 1.2% each, another three about 2.5% each - nowhere near enough to block a buyout should the rest, including the PST, accept Mr Disney's offer. Mind you if Moth, Kirk, McInnes and Partridge don't fancy it, then that changes things.
  2. what is it with these clowns
  3. ...you've got the beginnings of the worst Saints five-a-side team ever there. Add in my friend Powell and maybe Ian Andrews in nets and you've got all bases covered.
  4. can I just leave Stephen O'Halloran here? Thanks.
  5. who? McCant? Pretty sure we paid him off/cancelled his contract by mutual agreement.
  6. the groans and moans Steve Baker got he got every time his name was announced after that terrible derby performance weren't from any new breed either
  7. good post. Both show glimpses of real talent, but neither are anywhere near finished articles. Up to manager, coaches and player to ensure they progress and not fade away.
  8. which is more than enough to block any sale, which requires 75% of the shareholders to vote for it. Either Eisener accepts the cuffs or the sell now or go bust story needs to get ramped up.
  9. 86% of PST want to retain a share of ownership of the club, which with Eisener wanting to be released from the handcuffs could be a problem. http://www.pompeytrust.com/news/pst-shareholders-and-members-survey-results
  10. Bagpuss' first game is the Vile away. Sadsack can become an instant legend with the Zulus. Hopefully the **** loses all three games but they survive anyway.
  11. Shed load of UKIP votes up for grabs I suspect.
  12. I'm almost (but not totally) the opposite. I can enjoy a game that we don't win, so long as we play well. Performance does matter IMO, as you can't play **** and win regularly. Continue to play well, control games and create chances and eventually you will win games...well that's my theory. Simply controlling the game is not enough mind you. There has to be chances created too.
  13. nice work. Enjoy the game. Same to you Eddie.

    Gardos

he has another year on his contract. No one will come in to buy him in the summer and so we will probably offer him out on loan in the hope that someone might take him off our hands in January, which they won't.
  15. Cuco is the best sh!t footballer I have ever seen. ...no matter how much you want to dislike him and how unnatural he looks on the ball, he just keeps on doing the type of things you want a full back to do - get up ad down and overlap all day long, get to the byline, keep it simple, make himself available, make tackles and win headers. Sadly he was a step down from what we had before him, but still a millions times better than someone like Nyom (who is the Ali Dia that got away with it).
  16. Chelsea are after a number 2 and they don't tend to settle for average. Arsenal's number two has made noises about leaving, so they could be in the same boat. David de Gea will no doubt be linked with Real Madrid all summer...but go nowhere. I wonder if Pep will swallow his pride and accept Bravo was a poor signing. If he did I doubt he'd do it twice and accept Harte back into the fold.

    Injury Watch

not sure the club ever actually said it was a `minor groin strain'. Tricky injury. Rush him back too early and there is a danger he will do further damage and he will miss the rest of the season. The slight positive is that it gives Puel an excellent opportunity to really evaluate Long and Rodriguez before the summer coming and goings.
  18. freedom of movement for players has changed the landscape since 1995, so its maybe its not quite fair to compare now with days gone by, but since the Bosman ruling I don't recall too many of our players resisting the lure of the dollar and staying put. Players have been sold to balance the books and because they wanted a move. That is how it will always be until we have a side full of **** that no one wants (which has been the case at times). Hopefully we can keep recruiting well and top notch youngsters keep coming through to prevent that happening. Actually, I guess with the extra money in the Prem these days you could say that our place in the footballing pyramid has improved, but its all relative and unless you are at the top you will always be eaten by bigger fish.

    Puel out

in the past you have said that results are all that matters, I don't know if that is still how you feel, but if it is, is there a specific number of points/league position you had in mind that would mean he is cutting it?
  20. About time new season ticket holders could buy a ticket for the same price as an existing season ticket holder. Not terribly impressed at people on here upset about it. Anyone willing to stump up £600 to watch Saints should be welcomed with open arms. Why would you not want more of these committed fans to stand alongside you cheering the team on?
  21. you really think so?
  22. is he worth £30m?
  23. brum fans singing it in 2002
  24. you've lost me. Who will make sure?
  25. Pretty sure I was at a Brum game in 1996 and they were singing that song. Might be mistaken, but I know they have been singing that for years.
