  1. Pleased to avoid a loan shark or betting company, other than I could not give a monkeys so long as they have paid handsomely. Actually as a customer I'm helping fund the sponsorship, so too are any Skates that have VIrgin.
  2. Rowett to Saints watch that fly...
  3. Some good points. Howe ahead, but I just don't see him leaving them for us.
  4. Quite frankly the job he has done at Brum is phenomenal. When he joined, their squad was woeful and he had buttons to improve it. I had them as dead certs for relegation but they never looked even remotely like they would. They have kicked on and that is testament to his ability. I guess there are too many question marks for him to get our job, are those skills transferable to a premiership side, can he inspire the current players and can he attract other decent players when he gets here.
  5. Where did you hear that? I ask because I put his name out there on Friday, mostly because I get 24/7 info from my Zulu supporting best mate and so couldn't resist suggesting him (I doubt anyone would have even mentioned him otherwise) and what do you know a few days later it becomes a rumour that the club likes him. The inter web is a wonderful thing.
  6. Probably have to go all the way back to 2003 for £100m to actually be enough to take a middle of the road side and transform it into a challenger.
  7. How on earth did we get them to fork out £5m when he is only paid £2.5m a year? Footballers can buy themselves out of their contracts once in the last year (for the amount they would have been paid), you'd think managers would be able to do that as well. That has perked me up a bit. Hope we have someone who isn't on the short list knocking around the interweb (as it doesn't inspire me much) that will inspire players to stay and join the continued route upwards...
  8. yep, with the logo in the right position too.
  9. good move for him. Allan Nyom is perhaps the worst footballer I have ever seen at the top level, so he should get games at least. Hope he stubs his toe though.
  10. As I said at the weekend, it will drag out for a while not for any other reason than these things do actually take a bit of time. They always did, its just that now a days we hear much earlier about the possibility that something might happen.
  11. I genuinely would, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't work out.
  12. why is AVB on the radar? Has he been successful after Spurs (genuine question) because he seemed unlikely to get another prem Job after those brief spells.
  13. Questions for our Everton fans. Is the £100m mentioned in the press just fees alone or wages too? Why has the new investor only bought 49% of the shares? I'm sure there is a good reason, but that feels a little small time. Do you expect Stones and Lukaku to now stay?
  14. I would expect it will drag out for some time, with saints needing to be well set in their next step before agreeing to anything.
  15. The "I have one year left on my contract" has always felt like an advert rather than an assurance, and I suspect the board have wondered if they could realistically extend his stay. So I would think they were very prepared for this eventuality and have a shortlist ready.
  16. ...for not adding to our debt or spending more of her own money?
  17. When you say profit, do you mean avoid making losses that add to our debt?
  18. I have to say that Gary Rowett has done a fantastic job at Brum. Whether he has a big enough name or reputation I am not sure, but he seems to have real managerial ability.
  19. Pretty sure Les or Kruger said in the past they 'scout' managers as well as players so they are prepared for these type of situations.
  20. Very reasonable post. And I agree wholeheartedly with your comments being not too fussed and hoping he fails if he does go. Have a very good day sir.
  21. They certainly did, but that is not the same thing.,we are talking about retaining staff. If any of Kante, Vardey and Marez leave this summer it would just prove my point. Despite being at the prem champions and having champions league football Vardey could still leave. If he does does that mean Leicester now lack ambition?
  22. I see you are shuffling the argument rather than face the fact we are not at the top of the pyramid, which is why players leave... By provincial I guess I mean a club that isn't one of the big financial and historical powerhouses, one not at the top table, one that will have players bought from them by bigger prem sides.
  23. Excellent work sir.
  24. No idea what you are talking about, but a provincial club with young talent will always have it picked off. Have three or four outstanding players all at one time and all three or four will be targeted by the bigger fish. That is the way of the world. It's called a football pyramid and we are no where near the top. Whilst you continue to ignore that fact you will always be on here moaning at about players and managers going.
  25. No other club our size and thus position in the football pyramid has had the kind of talent we have had. Pretty simple really.
