so true. Starting to get nervous already. I just hope we are still in reasonable form come the actual game. If we are playing well then I am confident we can win, but this game can still go either way. They are no mugs.
-
lovin that. Great noise from us.
-
just watched the highlights and I thought Hammond was a tad unlucky to get the first yellow but boy did he try hard to get after Leigetwood. That kind of effort will get us far. For the second yellow Guly's pass was sloppy, but the tackle was also rash. I have to say Martin should have done a lot better with his chance. From there he has to score. On the way home the locals station bemoaned the performance on Mills and I think the fans have been less than impressed with him. I thought he was OK myself, but wasn't looking hard.
-
several players: Fox, Davis, Richardson, Chaplow had very good games.
-
two very poor passes I agree that were very costly, but he wasn't alone in making poor passes and I thought the rest of his passing was well weighted and accurate. I was comparing him to Cork who was a liability. I only gave him a 5 by the way as he didn't do a lot.

"seasiders **** **** ****" WTF?
-
perhaps so, but they made a decent effort up until that point. Pretty tough when up against 4200 of us in full voice. I've been to many worst places. What was the 106 song? I couldn't hear the words to that.
-
actually yes I suggested he didn't break the seat. He asked why the **** not? I said it wasn't cool, he told me to **** off.
-
spot on. Chaplow worked harder and Cork woke up. There were a few holes but you'd hardly notice we had lost a player.
-
thought their fans on the right hand side were very good personally. The rest of the ground was **** though.

worst display this season by far IMO so to get a point with ten men is terrific. We were absolutely woeful in midfield, Cork especially was miles off his best and I'm starting to wonder if the rotation policy has ****ed him as he was in unbelievable form before being `rested'. Mind you even Cork came good in the last ten minutes when we desperately needed our midfielder to cover a lot of ground he stepped up. Davis 8 some outstanding saves, catches and punches Richardson 8 strong showing again. Can't ask a lot more of a fullback Fonte 6 given a very hard test and dragged all over the place. Jos 7 solid enough but the channel balls made life tough for him Fox 8 strong and much better in possession with only one hollywood ball all game and that even went straight to de Ridder Guly 5 worked hard and touch and passing was good, but we needed a bit more from him. He needs to see more of the ball in every game. Very little threat and even less so when moved up front Chaplow 8 absolutely everywhere, hussled and bussled and broke up play, Great energy which came into its own when down to ten. Corners were crap. Cork 2 woeful until last ten minutes, touch, passing and decisions poor. Break has not helped him. He has set very high standards, not met today that's for sure. Shoukd have been subbed after half an hour... Hammond 5 slightly harsh second booking perhaps, but the risk was there. IMO he didn't offer himself enough and we never got our passing game going. Lambert 4 in Pearce's pocket most of the game, when he did win headers they went to no one. Connelly 3 zero threat, and some poor lay offs, which apart from his dropping into the hole to link up play is what he gives us - usually, but if they are not working he offers us nothing. Boy do we need an option up front Martin 6 solid defensively, but the kick it off for safety is taken way too far, he doesn't even try to smash it up field. Just taping it off for a throw is safe yes, but this is the second level in English football not Tyro league Morgan - should have brought him on at half time IMO for Cork de Ridder 8 great impact and outstanding goal, overplayed a little after that, but hard to criticise One final thing, why do I always seem to get stuck standing behind the idiot that stands on the seat and gives ****** signs to the home fans the entire game before trying to break the seat in front of him.
-
sadly no, he sorted himself out. See you all there.
-
likewise, but with them going well too I can;t see them selling in January. If we should go up then he'd be one of the first players on my shopping list, perhaps with his mate Saha (spell) joining him.
-
I would agree with that. Thankfully we won't come up against the likes of Carew every week, but quite clearly Jos isn't in Jaidi's league for winning headers - he would have been perfect for this particular game - but he's still good in the air and very calm in possession.

My boss, a Saints ST holder by the way, has just found out his son didn't get him a ticket for he Reading game. If anyone has a spare PM me. cheers.
-
anyone got a spare ticket? My boss (a ST holder) got let down by his son and just found out he wasn't bought one. I could earn some brownie points (without giving him my golden ticket) if I managed to find a spare. PM me or reply.

anyone got a spare for tomorrow? My boss (a Saints season ticket holder I might add) was let down badly by his son and just found out he wasn't bought a ticket, so I'd like to earn some brownie points and find a spare. PM me or post a reply if you can't PM.

are you telling me that you leave work at the same time the kids finish? Sigh.

Send the organisors an email explaining exactly what happened and I'm sure the'll act accordingly. If they don't then think about taking your business elsewhere, there are loads of 5 a side places in Soton. Have you paid a deposit that they can take from should you up sticks and take your side elsewhere to play?

I've been wondering what to post on this thread as I've given him top marks in pretty much every match report I've done since he came here, so I could hardly suggest he isn't any good. But the Celtic fans are spot on, he does lack pace, which so far has not been exposed. I think apart form one or two top, top centre backs you will always have to trade pace for arial ability. Right now that extra power in the air is essential to our `well being', but the higher you go the more pace you need. I'm more for worrying about now, so let's get that loan extended and then see where we are in the summer.
-
I was going to ask the same thing. Foubert wasn't it? Look forward to that battle in the return leg.
-
it looks like is sucks, but the league chairman don't have to sign it. They can weigh up whether the Sky handout being held back exceeds what they might possibly earn from the old tribunal system. That said, I'm not sure I understand the figures. It says clubs would get £120,000 max if they don't sign, but it also says there is £5.4m ring fenced for youth development - £7500 per club if divided by 72, so what is the total figure clubs would get if they signed up to this change? It suggests a lot more, but how much more?
-
lightweight at CB and not good enough to play at left back IMO. Curtis Davis is the only defender Brum have who I'd want here.
