Man United were supposed to have sent a scout earlier in the season, means **** all other than the fact every tom **** and harry has had a look. Good luck to any Premiership side that gets him. I like it when sides "gamble" on lower league players rather than going abroad. Having been out of the top flight for a while I think we all know there is real talent down here just waiting for a chance to shine.
  2. Think Yeovil have got a cracking player. I didn't see anyone go past him last season. He has just enough pace and a lot of heart to make it very difficult for a winger to go past him. Going forward he will get to the byeline and he delivers a decent cross. He's certainly not as neat and tidy as Fox, but at league 1 I doubt there will be a better fullback. Good luck to him. I really enjoy watching him play (as I do Harding) and hope he can get his form back as you never know we might need him.
  3. Puncheon returned earlier in the week.
  4. yep, we give away 4000 free tickets, but we make Le Tiss pay for one. Give it a week and this 4000 thing will be gospel in Stamshaw.
  5. my brum season ticket holder mate thinks he's very, very average. Not sure how he can be one of the best outside the Prem when he's only third choice at Brum FFS.
  6. getting Cov five minutes after we just played them at their place doesn't help, nor does the high price of tickets and fuel these days.
  7. it's not that good

    Lallana

in my eyes this is very true, however Lallana has still been way below par.

    Lallana

that's not all that long ago I suppose. He may have not been training and subsequently totally lost his match fitness. As you say he needs to get back to his best quick because we are a shadow of ourselves without him taking players on and creating chances.
  10. The CL claim was made whilst Markus was alive. Is the aim still the same since his death? Personally I always thought it was ********, but as has been said Everton did it, so no reason why a side from outside the normal top 6 could not do it given the right circumstances - mostly that several of the top 6 have their own troubles all at the same time. We're such a long way from even getting promotion, so its hardly worth talking about.

    Lallana

really, I thought Weston had said his injury was being managed. If he really has been free from injury for a while I have to question why he looks so unfit. He doesn't look sharp, is struggling to get up and down and his work rate is low - especially closing down and tracking back. None of those things have anything to do with Fox.
  12. any inkling how long he is out for?

    Ben Reeves

he looked good when he came on at Brighton. Neat and tidy, sharp and busy. He showed similar qualities in the Preston game. Lovely first touch and with a good footballing brain. He just needs to grow into a role and he could become a very very good player for Saints. He does look a little bit lightweight, but he has the touch to make him effective.
  14. @Saint_Chez so far I've just post the best rumours and stories that appear on here to be honest. Not sure why anyone would give a **** about my opinion on the latest Manu game or whatever so I don't bother.
  15. I know they need a buyer in quickly to ensure they can pay next months wages, but is the speed of the sale also to enable the Football League to gloss over the need to deduct 10 points for their parent company being in admin?
  16. I know this is extremely pessimistic, but should our league form continue to desert us and we fall down the league, wouldn't it be nice to blame it on the amazing FA cup run that takes us to the final and sees us as the first second tier winners for a long time? Fitness wise, only Lallana appears tired, and even he might actually benefit from a game to get his fitness back rather than need a rest. I'm sure the others won't suffer from having to play another game. I'd put a strong side out myself. By the way, where was de ridder at Brighton, was he suspended?
  17. IMO there was not a chance of Lallana signing a 5 year deal with us for less than £25k a week

    Lallana

Fox hardly ever passes to Lallana. He did it more times in the Bristol City game than perhaps all the other games combined, but on the whole he just doesn't seemed inclined to pass 10 yards to Adam, which is exactly what he should be doing. Fox also doesn't overlap. Both these things don't help Lallana. These factors haven't helped, but the injury is the real problem. Lallana quite clearly has not got back to full fitness and the lack of sharpness kills him as he is not quick so he has got caught in possession far too often. He did well against Pompey, but in the games before and after he has been poor. He looked much better in the Brighton game, so hopefully he us getting there, but his fitness needs to be carefully managed otherwise we have no chance of promotion.
  19. I like this one: Gay Mondays Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:46 AM The attendances are inclusive of season ticket holdes wether they turn up on the day or not and the word on the street is S(um have 4000 season ticket holdes that are either not real (done through the club to look better) or the holders can't be bothered to go. Either way take 4000 off each attendance to get a true value. BBC Radio solent explained this
  20. blimey. Imagine how much Lallana is on.
  21. strange that the club are talking before a deal is done. I guess the cat was out the bag long ago and he would be training for a while so would be noticed, meaning they had no choice.
  22. absolutely and that is why he is going nowhere.
  23. it doesn't really matter when they were made, the fact is we have run up and sizeable debt since Markus bought the club (all to him and his family obviously) and the AOC money would effectively reduce that sum, and we wouldn't necessarily have £12m sitting in the bank.
  24. he can play when he wants to, but the fact he snubbed Forest's contract offers to join their most hated rivals on a free make me very uneasy.
  25. really? The money will have gone on wages. It did in Lowe's day and it still does now. Anyone thinking that Lallana, Cork, Lambert and Fonte are on less than £20k a week are kidding themselves. Davis turned down West Ham to stay at our place. He aint on 5k a week nor are many others. Our wage bill is massive, that's why we lost £7m in the first year and god knows how much in the second. Yes the crowds have been bloody great, but we have spent a lot on transfer fees: Richardson £450,000 Fonte £800,000 Jos £800,000 Fox £1.7m Dickson £300,000 Cork £750,000 Hammond £400,000 Chaplow £50,000 SDR £1m Forte £100,000 Barnard £200,000 Lambert £1.2m Puncheon £400,000 Guly £600,000 Seaborne £300,000 Jack Stephens £150,000 and juicy signing on fees to the likes of Butterfield, Connelly, Jaidi, Davis, Chaplow and Harding, not to mention those for new contracts for half the squad, and then the ever rising wage bill on top of that for the last 2.5 years. That doesn't mean funds won't be there to buy, but it more than likely will be from the loan from the owner rather than pure income from tickets and tv.
