  1. not another member annoyed at the incorrect spelling of St John Ambulance
  2. I'm a Kingsland ST holder. No problem moving, just object to paying a £3 ticket tax. The Cheltenham fans don't have to pay it. The FA should look into this. It's a sneaky way of getting round paying half of the income to the away side. That's assuming ticket sales admin costs are not usually taken into account before the revenue is split between the sides (and the FA of coruse).
  3. is there not a considerable difference in sentence for dangerous driving when nothing happens and dangerous driving when something serious does happen?
  4. risky strategy, if they go pop before he gets his money back he loses everything.
  5. what a load of ********. Wearing the poppy and remembering the actions of the likes of my great grandad and my grandad in the two world wars does in no way constitute backing for our current and recent foreign policy. If you choosew to make that link that is your choice.
  6. Perhaps we are paying our own way without subsidies from our owners. All I have ever read is there is "no debt". That doesn't mean the owners are paying off any debts at the end of each year so we break even. Whether that is the case I don't know, but I'd love it if we got a double promotion and once up Cortese turned around and said that the owners had not bank rolled the club, it was totally self financing and will continue to be so for as long as the Liebherr owned the club and that will be for the next hundred years at least.
  7. Funded in what way? Are wages and transfers being subsidised by the Liebherr family?
  8. what are you concerned about? The owners selling up early?
  9. didn't you know that saying anything negative about NC is not allowed on this forum in case he reads it, take offence, quits and the owners sell up?
  10. I wonder how many more we would have got if it had been £10? A thousand more perhaps?
  11. the 125 year celebrations can start. Very poor player, right down at the Darren Powell level, although the most committed determined player I have ever seen at SMS. Shame he couldn't swap just a little of that effort for a tad more talent. Good luck Paul, hope you do the business.
  12. nice. My only defence is that I am suffering from man flu.
  13. Centenary yes, 125 years, load of ********.

Very frustrating kind of player. In the blink of an eye he could show an amazing peice of control and then two seconds later he'd miscontrol a very easy pass. I woud suggest that he did one decent thing followed by two **** things. This would happen in every signle game. He never changed. He was not without talent and of course genuine pace, and I would disagree with anyone that says he was lazy. He ran and ran all day long chasing so much **** its not true. On the occasions he didn't chase (and then get berated by fans) it was because he had just chased down 14 woeful channel balls in a row and decided perhaps it wasn't worth killing himself yet again for a complete nothing ball. He is without doubt the worst long range shooter I have ever seen. I don't recall a single goal from outside the box, although the Derby opener might well have been. In the time he was here he must have out 500 shots wide or over. So much waste. Another weak area was his one on ones. He scored a few, but not nearly enough considering the time his pace allowed him. I liked him and backed him on here against the tide, however the bar blue incident was a total embaressment to the club, as was the `robbed from the skates' song. Because of that I was glad he and Dyer left. I don't want to support a thief and it made me sick hearing people singing in support of someone that would rob any other person, humerous or not.
  15. I made a big mistake moving from my Seat in the Kingsland North across to the Itchen (and sitting closer to the half way line) rather than going in the Northam. I thought the atmosphere was woeful for the whoe stadium, but especially in this area. I normally sing up, but you kind of feel subsconscious when all around you are not even clapping along to OWTS. I won't make that mistake again. I'm not sure how much money is saved by closing those stands but it just doesn't feel right to me. I thought the 700 odd Shrewsbury supported their side brilliantly.
  16. loving your analogy.
  17. home draw to a Legue 2 side and into the third round draw we will go and there's nothing better thsn being in the hat...
  18. Very interesting game. Shrewsbury were a decent side if lacking in real adventure until the last 15 minutes or so. We dominated pretty much from start to finish but just didn't tuck away the couple of chances we had such as Jaidi missing from a yard or so. I thought we lost our way pretty much as soon as AOC was wrongly substituted. It was a poor decision, with Guly looking lost out wide, not causing any threat going forward and not tracking his runner. Their left back started to come into the game and we had to do some defending. Guly shouild have been subbed about five minutes after he was moved to the right, but Adkins was far too slow making the change. We ran out of ideas and went as tad ragged. Yes the late sub won the game, but IMO Adkins got it wrong and should have made the move much much earlier. Still, it all worked out and class told in the end with some great play by Harding, Lallana and Conelly for the two goals. Davis 7 one great save, distribution spot on. Came and caught. Faultless really. Richardson 7 Very solid, a little hit and miss on the angled balls. Seaborne 8 I am not a fan, but he was as solid as a rock, albeit against a small forward, and apart from one or two poor passes (considering how many attacks he started that isn't bad) his distribution was pretty good. I imagine a few will disagree as they have made their minds up about him, but he is improving, I still wonder if he will do it against better attacks. Jaidi 8 never loses a header. If we are playing aganst a lump he has to start. Good positional play in first half. Personally I just feel confident defending set peices, much more so than with Fonte. Harding 7 The winger beat him for pace early doors and I thought it might be a tough day, but he was never exposed again and he was not beaten again. Brilliant run for the goal. Chamberlain 8 Caused lots of problems for them in the first half, genuine threat, but worked back hard as well. Should not have been subbed IMO and we went downhill fast afterwards. I can only think it was to rest him for next Saturday. Chaplow 9 MOTM. Absolutely everywhere. Hammond 7 decent controlled display. Allows Chaplow the freedom to charge forward. A couple of poor passes as he tired late on. Lots of square stuff, but he kept us moving. Again, I'm not a big fan, but hard to complain his workrate. Lallana 7 usual flair and skill but not quite enough end product...until he made it happen at the end. He is a class act. Guly 4 OK up front, working hard across the line, but a little too slow and casual in posession, and never real did much to hurt them Barnard 3 Lots and lots of poor first touches, which is not like him. One great chance when he got a yard head start on their big CB, but he beat him for pace which is a little embaressing . Still worked hard, but not this day. Lambert Yet more poor touches, too slow and still leaving my very uninspired. Connelly Sharp and great to see him show is striker postional play. Holmes Looked sharpo and strong in only little run he had
  19. we can only loan Championship youngsters or out of favours and uneeded. Not all that many of those available.
  20. one youngster a season is an amazing output even at this level. Don't forget there is Morgan, Lallana, Mills and Martin not to mention the countless other youngsters that we've had to sell.
  21. I don't, besides we have Lambert, Guly, Barnard and Doble. Connelly is injured.
  22. Antonio German.

    C`mon guys

I personally felt it was embaressing. Shrewsbury wanted £25 we want £10, the FA awarded it at £15. Seems like we did quite well there. Why the website did not just say the price was set by the FA I don't know. There was absolutely no need whatsoever to start critiscising Shrewsburys actions or belittling them as a club. We effectively got what we wanted and should have been happy with that. No need to abuse Shrewsbury. Another very very poor piece of PR from the Club to add to the list.

Every JPT tie was a noddy game last season, the FA Cup however, is special, whatever round. Each to their own. I have two ST pals that can't be arsed, they have bairns and want to spend time with them, but the chance to watch Saints in a proper game for £15 is too good for me to turn down. By the way Shrewsbury will be decent and it will be tough, but games like this are part of what the cup is about and hopefully it will the start of a long giant killing run. Its not so long ago League 1 Wycombe made it to the quarters. We could easily do the same. ManUre were toppled by Leeds last year, maybe we can be the side that shines this time round. Can't wait for Saturday. The last few home games have been tremendous and there is nothing better in football than the FA Cup.
  25. We need a striker or even two. One now on an Emergency loan and another permanent in January. How about Antonio German on loan now?
