  1. What is the situation regarding Sorensen? As I understood it he was off to Bayern Munich and that is why they needed a new keeper? Is that move still happening and dependant on bringing someone on? Or is that move for the summer? This will have a major bearing on the price.
  2. you really don't like him do you? Each to their own I suppose, but IMO he's been terrific in the majority of games for us and especially since he got back in the side after the nightmare at SMS against Tranmere.
  3. small chance? You're a premierhip side FFS. Talk about covering your arse.
  4. they're re-signing Manuel Fernandes on loan apparently
  5. if he throws it out and we lose posession straight away then you can bet your bottom dollar that bloke will moan then as well. IMO its only on the odd occasion that he could go for the long ball early, but on the whole his safety first choices make sense. Whats more annoying is not having at least one or two players on the half way line when defending corners. They were tiny. There was no need whatsoever in bringing back both Lambert and Barnard. Lets at least give ourselves a chance of latching on to a hoofed clearance. Half these palyesr in the box are rubbish in the air anyway.
  6. which is about £170,000 to us.
  7. correct so if he goes for lets say £700,000 then we get £10,000. Any rumour on the fee? Every little helps.
  8. perhaps if Gillett move is resurected by Donny Stock will make the switch. Other than that I can't see anything happening. Do all loans need to be finalised today as well or can they be done after the window closes?
  9. nice.
  10. seeing as they have named 7 subs can we trust anything in this article?
  11. Tells Stories said that they had had no problem enticing players even with the fear of not getting paid.. Anyone else amazed that they are paying Grant £1m?
  12. we didn't actually sell anyone in last January's transfer window.
  13. What if Donny make a last day offer for Gillett?
  14. I agree with you that Lambert was poor. He has been very average for a while. The service has been **** to him which makes him look bad, but he hasn't been sharp enough. He will still score goals though, but he misses Connelly. Waigo starting might help him. As for Wotton. Blimey. A terrible player that played badly today.
  15. Tells stories said on Thursday that they had had no enquiries at all about any of their players apart from Spurs' enquiry about Kaboul and Begavic. You can't sell if you have no customers.
  16. the wage bill is closer to £3m not £2m. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8446488.stm The £1.8m figure appearning in the papers derives from the fact they were £1.8m short teh first time they were paid late. The Kaboul money won't go far, no matter what Tells Stories says. Like he knows anything about the finances these days anyway.
  17. no one ever doubts his desire, but this is professional football. There has to be more. He is so slow, he doesn't get close enough to make the tackles we need him to. Woeful display on Tuesday and no better today. He has heart but no ability whatsoever.
  18. bloody hell Stockport were terrible. I know they have been stripped of the best players due to financial problems, but they offered nothing. They hardly got out of their own half. Two shots on goal, both powerder puff. Never a chance of ever losing the game, ever. I hope that p0uts things into context in terms of the result, because we struggled big time. There was so little creativity in the first half, but not just that, there was a lack of pace to oru play and a lack of direction. Do we even know what we are trying todo? Once goal went in th egame changed on its head. People will point to Waigo changing the game, and he certainly did play well, but the whole team woke up and it looked as though we'd score three or four. Those last 20 minutes don't make up for the 70 flat minutes before them, but they offer a little hope that we can raise our game. Davis 7 couple of catches, two basic saves. Very quiet. Semi 6 very little to cope with, but still didn't get close enough when they did get our of their own half. Some overlapping. Fonte 8 solid, some hoofing in first half Seaborne 9 hardly put a foot wrong. some decent passing as well. Not much hoof. Very little to cope with Mills 5 woeful first half. Poor decisions and terrible passing and hoofing. Got much better in the second half Holmes 8 decent game overall, although like everyone else offered little in the first half. Some nice attacking play, beat his man a couple of times and delivered decent crosses. He didn't have to track back so not tested defensively. Wotton 4 slow, dilly dallied on the ball, backwards passing. Did nothing except put his head in where it hurts once. I expect better of a centre midfielder. Morgan 7 got better as the game went on. Could do with a partner that actually moves to pass to. Antonio 7 Again loads of endevour, effort, drive and confidence to beat his man. Some very poor crossing in the first half, slightly better in the second. Creates stuff. Starting to secure his position in the starting team. Lambert 4 did **** all. As great as he is at taking free kicks he has to do a lot lot more than that. Lucky to stay on the pitch IMO. Barnard 6 plenty of effort and on another day would have scored with the first header, but no real threat. Waigo 9 never gave the ball away and passed first time. Sped our play up and was a threat with the long ball over the top. He is a striker. Have said this for months and months. Lets play him there. Lets play him.
  19. me too. You can swap Lallana and Puncheon around in games as well. If Barnard has a stormer today then that will create a tough selection headache.
  20. we signed them to give us options. We can and have played 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 in the same game. So having one or two spare makes total sense. Also if Lambert gets injured we need alternatives. Holmes doesn't track his runners. He comes back, but he isn't goal side. It might be a lack of pace, or it might be a lack of effort. In my eyes he doesn't work hard enough. I realise that many disagree with me on Holmes, and if so then again we have options. Happy days.
  21. makes **** all difference where the wide men position themselves if centre halves always look for Lambert or Wotton hoofs it over his shoulder all day. I actually don't see this `cramping of midfield' that you talk about. Yes Lallana cuts inside onto his right foot, but he doesn't come inside to recieve the ball and steal the space of others. He sits outside waiting for a pass. I'll watch that closely today.
  22. 4-5-1 with Barnard dropped? Terrific choices. Perhaps too much choice. Pardew has to find the right formation quickly as the players are there. No excuses at all. If we don't win games the manager has to carry the responsibility now.
  23. The problem on Tuesday was Mills not passing to him. If he plays today we need much better passing from the fullbacks. The midfield have also got to give him the ball more, all the time in fact. Keeping feeding him till he runs himself out. Mind you with Antonio full of confidence its hard not to look to him as an outlet. I'm excited by this signing. Absolutely no excuses for Pardew going into the second hal of the season. He has HIS side now.
  24. you coud be right there. The only thing I would say is that Lallana has been hugging the line for the last few games and when he does he simply does not get a pass. He never sees the ball. The problem is not Lallana coming inside, its that players don't pass it out wide to him. I wonder if the ball will be drawn across to Puncheon a little more. Perhaps we can move to a five man midfield with one of those two at the front of the diamond - like Mellis did before he went off with England. Lallana also played his best stuff as the left winger. not sure I agree. AP plays Antonio, who hugs the touchline.
  25. lovin your enthusiam. He is a great prospect. This is exactky the kind of signing I wanted us to go for. Young and hungry, and the best of what this league has to offer. This reminds me of the Matty Taylor signing for the skates. It will go under the radar at little but give it six months and he'll make things happen here and then we'll win games for fun and have scouts up and down the Premiership looking at him.
