  1. Kitson/Lita Doyle and Bobby Convey in the season they went up.
  2. I didn't say we WOULD be worse off, I said we might be worse off. Who knows. Besides I think you will find that I posted on here long before anyone else that we needed to play 4-4-2. Funnily enough I thought we needed to do it away from home. So yes, what do I know.
  3. Tranfers fees for foreign signings can be paid over the entirity of their contract ie four years in Morgans case, and the 1.5m Euros fee mentioned COULD make 1.5m euros (hopefully the agreement was actually in pounds) depending on appearances etc. Rest assured he cost us peanuts up front as we had peanuts.
  4. just a thought, but maybe if we had played a 4-4-2 with this crop of players then we might have been in an even worse position than we are now.
  5. I wonder what position they would be buying him for? Diarra will go to Man City so perhaps he is cover for Hughes etc.

if John and Saga return that going to be £25k a week added to our wage bill. Losing these two permently will dictate all player transfers. If both are sold on Jan 1st then we are in a much stronger position regarding Lallana and Surman. Anyone looking to buy those two will offer a pitiful fee early doors and then watch us sweat as we wait for Bristol City or whoever to take John off our hands. I suppose someone might spend big on Surman and Lallana early doors but I seriously doubt it.
  7. Derry who would you liek to see us play right wing? You'd think it woudl make sense to play BWP as apart from twice he appears to haev a phobia about getting to the byline and crossing with his left - despite it being very effective indeed. For me McGoldrick is pointless there and Lallana hasn't done it either. The two wingers thing is crazy seeing as we don't have a fit left or a right winger worth their salt
  8. after two debarcles we need to see a performance like at Reading where we jumped all over them early doors. I suspect our confidence has taken a sizeable hit this week. Time for players like Lallana, McGoldrick and Robertson to step up to the plate.
  9. yeah Jan why aren't you packing the side with ex premiership loanees and buying the cream of the talent from the lower leagues and have us challenge for promotion as we all expected you to do? What's that? We don't have two bras farthing to rub together and therefore can only afford nippers on peanuts and the senior players we couldn't offload in the summer. Does Jan even have a say on transfers?
  10. I could. Jan's not the problem. Lack of money is.

I agree and he has looked at his best when played just off Patterson - a big target man. I agree we need to lose Pekhart, Smith and Robertson. Saga and John will be back in the window though. I wonder if we will be able to shift them out again? If not will we be able to afford Cork's wages.
  12. thankfully they like to pass like we do and don't have a big target man to expose our weakness. They are made for us and we are going to destroy them. Well that's what I have been telling my brother in law who's a Forrest nutter. Unfortuntaly he's been to SMS a few times with me and knows where we are poor and has written to Calderwood with his recommendations. This is the game of the season for me. If we lose its going to eb a bloody tough old xmas.
  13. who's opinion are you going to base that on?

Players liek Walcott with his exceptional pace, and Kenwyne with his build and arial strength have the attributes to succeed without any experience required. McGoldrick doesn't have either of those so he is going to take longer to shine. IMO he does have the first touch and the ability on the ball required to play at this level.

they never learn to give players a little time before writing them off.

another player I backed (along with KJ and Fuller). People never learn.
  17. why haven't the former residents been given the option to reclaim their old seats as they were for Manure?
  18. care enough to log on here and post your pearls of wisdom though...
  19. I have certain degree of trepidation about the game as the brother in law is a Forrest supporter and I'll never hear the end of it, but as with all Saints games I can't wait. Watching Saints games is excellent. If you're not interested in going then why come on here?

not at all. I judge players on what I see not what someone tells me I am seeing.

You will have to excuse my typing torrets. I clearly have a potty mouth. He (McGoldrick) said "things are going well for him" then people on here questioned how he would say that seeing as `he is playing ****'. I understand why he would say it, as he is playing regularly and in many games doing well (some would not agree with me of course). But if you have been overlooked, sent out on loan or just given five minutes playing time every month then how things are going now are going to seem much much better, or in other words `things are going well right now' compared to previous seasons. Hope that explains things. The lad is 22, give him time.
  22. O'Halloran actually played though unlike the others. I feel Folly was much worse than Wright. I watched every singke one of his games for us plus the games for Wednesday and Plymouth against us and never seen him make a tackle. Total pants. Wright had some very good games at CM and despite a few shockers at right back (Colchester away springs to mind) he got far too much abuse IMO and showed what a true pro he was by playing throuigh the boos and having some fantastic games at right back. Brilliant in the air.
  23. they were in mine. KJ was the best striker in the CCC by miles in my opinion. Not seen a guy leap as well as him ever. Fuller always had the ability to beat a man all ends up and very few strikers have that. He creates chances out of nothing (like Henry Camera did) and that ability is worth its weight in gold. Returning to Lallana and Surman. Lallana is going to be seen by Premiership scouts as another Aaron Ramsey. If you don't get in and buy him now at £5m then in a season's time he is going to be snapped up by a big boy. Surman reminds me more of a Lescott. Not in playing style, but in that everyone knows all about him and someone just needs to take a punt at the right price. If he leaves for less than £3m we have been robbed IMO. He might not be the finished article, but he is a quality player that is going to get better and better. I've been saying for yonks that he is made for a central role and he has proved this season that he can really play. He's playing very similar to Guthrie and look how well he did once given a go in the Premiership. Those that slate these two players, who would you honestly prefer in the side to replace them, bearing in mind the transfer money will pay of the overdraft and there will be tiny wages available for any incomers. We failed miserably to replace Bale etc last time (hence we are where we are) what on earth makes you think we will do better this time round?
  24. I can't believe you didn't include O' Halloran. Made Ali Dia look a class act.
  25. best 1 Bale 2. Baird 3. Guthrie and Chaplow 4. KJ 5. Safri worst 1. Made of glass 2. Wotton 3. Smith 4. O'Halloran 5. Folly
