  1. as you keep rolling out the 21% stat I'll repeat the fact that our win ratio in the 8 league games before he took over was 12.5%. We were going backwards at an alarming rate and he managed to turn that round by galvanising the squad and getting them fighting like their lives depended on it.
  2. I'm afraid that just doesn't rub. I and many other said at the time that we had got a decent guy here and he had done a a very good job at our place so hinsight does not come into play. What has happened at Leicester simply proves we were right about him. Lowe should have recognised that we had stumbled on a decent manager and signed him up. I realise money may have been the deciding factor but good managers are hard to find and we had one in our grasp. rubbish. see above.
  3. but immediately prior to him taking over we had won one league game in the previous 8 games, that's a win ratio of 12.5%. The guy had to turn a sinking ship round, and managed it. He was no genious, but it was obvious that he had the players support and the personality to drive us forward. With Pearson at the helm I believe we would have survived.
  4. I didn't see that at all. Yes his form has been up and down. Let me reitterate that he HAS played in quite a few games this season, but when he has played badly it certainly hasn't been down to a lack of effort on match day. I know nothing about his off field antics but it has been suggested he likes a drink, is that what you are getting at in terms of lack of motivation leading to a carefree attitude?
  5. Kris Commons gave Forest an extra season in the lower league so Surman could do the same. He won't though, I realise that.
  6. not sure Wotte had that much to do with our financial predicament. £6.5m overdrawn before he even walked through the door FFS.
  7. funnily enough I have no argument with your first point, but I'm not sure why you think Pearson would have done a worse job than Jan and then Wotte - how could he have done? I'd of thought getting Leicester promoted proved he has ability, something many of us recognised pretty quickly. Also I prefer to think that ALL the fans were victims or the poor financial decisions made by Lowes boardroom replacements, and then by Lowe's Dutch experiment.
  8. let me just say that I, like most others on here were singing from the same sheet as Matt. The Dutch experiement was seen as a terrible appointment right from the begining. No hindsight was required, the vast majority thought it was madness and we were doomed.
  9. I could not disagree with this more. We only just managed to avoid releagtion the previous season and every man and his dog knew that the side contained less quality when we started the new season. I think anyone with sense knew that we would be relegated or very close to relegation with the players at Jan's and then Wotte's disposal. If I'm honest I was very surprised at what an excellent footballing side we were at the start of the season with players like Davis, Lallana and Cork playing out of their skin. But when the resukts didn't go our way confidence dissapeared, the side performance dropped badly and then it was pretty much a foregone conclusion after that. I'm not saying Jan and Wotte did not make lots of mistakes or that they are good managers but with the finances the way they were we had no chance.
  10. my fear is that we will have the same problems in the League below. Holmes is still going to be slow and ****e, Wotton is going to be slower and uglier than before, Perry will still be too slow and too short, we don't have a big number 9, we dont have pace out wide, up front or at the back. Also we have no squad depth, and any quality at the club is about to leave so we are going to be worse than we were last season and that was bad, real bad. Add to this all free transfers are going to have been snapped up, we know **** all about the quality and availability of players from the lower leagues, our scouting system is appauling...

    Just heard

quite a drop from Champions League to League 1. I don't see it myself. More chance of him going to Pompey...oh ****.
  12. they seemed pretty motivated to me, just lacking in quality. Tactics wise he played long ball, perhaps dictated by the fact the short passing game had us at the foot of the table so he had to try something different. His hands were also tied in terms of selection as there was no one he could bring in. When Gillett was injured I don't think anyone on here was convinced about any of the other players - and they were right, they were all cack.
  13. Dyer wanted to leave, it made no difference that a new buyer was comng in he wanted to get away from Sotuhampton and obviously Swansea offered a very attractive escape route. As for McGoldrick and Surman I think its clear both feel they are good enough toplay in the CCC so they too may be askign for a move (new owner with money or not). For those players the world doesn't stand still whilst due dilligence takes place. Even if the new owners were in place they would still be targets for the likes of Forest.
  14. for £1.2m which might put McGoldricks potential fee into perspective.

    Surman to Forrest

Forest are spending a fair wedge on McGoldrick, Surman, Adebola, McKenna...they don't look relegation favourites to me. Sadly.

    Surman to Forrest

no need for consultants, at our last few home games a certain David Pleat was in attendance
  17. Very good post and exactly how I feel except for not having confidence in Thomson yet.
