Alex WHO? Am I missing something here, is he some sort of ITK? I certainly do not want to see another McCant down here. He is poor IMO. Barmby is way past it. No thanks. Can someone tell me more about Humpherson.

I've never been a JP fan, I described him as clueless earlier on here, btu he has certainly improved he decision making and team selection. I got the feeling Jan was employed because he cost about 50k a year. If that is our budget then yes he probably is the best we can do in the current circumstances. If he's on £250k a year then I'd have to ask why the hell Pearson was not retained. Again I raise the question, with this crop of players would any other manager have done a great deal better? I mean Wotton, James, Lancashire, Robertson, Smith, Pekhart...they're pretty poor even by our own low standards. Note I say that with the asumption that JP did not scout them. From what I have seen he has got them playing pretty well and it is only a lack of real talent that has prevented us obtaining more points. FWIW I'd happily take Ince here so long as he was happy with less money than he probably was earning at MK Dons.

Rasiak's loan is a season long one. I think John's was until Jan 1st.
-
They have spent a fair few bob in the summer including Kitson £5.5m, Olifinjana £3m, Abdula Faye £2.25m, Andy Davies £1.25m, Higginbottom £1.5m???, Sonko £2m, Soares £2m, and Michael Tonge £1m???. The TV money will cover those fees and the increased wages. I wonder what debts they had to pay off. I wasn't aware of any so perhaps they still have cash to spare.
-
I can't believe Surman, an England Under 21 International is worth less than £3m. I know there are several deluded soles on here that don't rate the guy but he is quality and it would be daylight bloody robbery if he was allowed to leave for less.
-
Spurs effectively spent £5m on players. With high ticket prices and sold out stadium I get the feeling their is plenty of coffers available but Spurs don't want everyone to know this. Lets hope ****flaps takes Johnson and Crouch from the skates.

I think there is a sizeable difference between the CCC money and the League 1 money, although obviously this is not comparing with Prem to CCC

McGoldrick brace I tell ye

I get the feeeling the 5000 lost fans will only ever come back when we are riding high at the top of this league. Even if Lowe left, Saga partnered John up front and no one was sold in the window I doubt we'd get 500 more on the gate if the results didn't change. Fans have got out of the habit of going and it is going to be very very hard to get them back unless we start winning every week. Rasiak, Saga and John won't stop us conceding goals like we did at Burnley...

Lowes a bit of a ****, but I'm much more interested in the football than the politics that has strangled the club over the last couple of years. There is sod all we can do about it other than stay away, but I want to watch my team so that isn't an option. -

Personally I think we would have been in a better position with Pearson at the helm, IMO he did an excellent job turning a sinking ship round, and I was bitterly dissapointed that a no mark was appointed manager when we looked to have turned a corner. However I have been surprised at how well we have played at times bearing in mind the total lack of quality remaining at the club, and I really have enjoyed a fair few games. I love watching the passing football even of we have been a little toothless at times. I thought we would be rock bottom by now and have predicted relegation continuously. I still think we will be there or there abouts. -
nah they will play Ernie with the nipper they signed for £1.15m from Carlise (name escapes me) who has hit a bit of form having only just got in the side after an injury.
-
Kitson/Lita Doyle and Bobby Convey in the season they went up.
-
I didn't say we WOULD be worse off, I said we might be worse off. Who knows. Besides I think you will find that I posted on here long before anyone else that we needed to play 4-4-2. Funnily enough I thought we needed to do it away from home. So yes, what do I know.
-
Tranfers fees for foreign signings can be paid over the entirity of their contract ie four years in Morgans case, and the 1.5m Euros fee mentioned COULD make 1.5m euros (hopefully the agreement was actually in pounds) depending on appearances etc. Rest assured he cost us peanuts up front as we had peanuts.
-
just a thought, but maybe if we had played a 4-4-2 with this crop of players then we might have been in an even worse position than we are now.
-
I wonder what position they would be buying him for? Diarra will go to Man City so perhaps he is cover for Hughes etc.
-
if John and Saga return that going to be £25k a week added to our wage bill. Losing these two permently will dictate all player transfers. If both are sold on Jan 1st then we are in a much stronger position regarding Lallana and Surman. Anyone looking to buy those two will offer a pitiful fee early doors and then watch us sweat as we wait for Bristol City or whoever to take John off our hands. I suppose someone might spend big on Surman and Lallana early doors but I seriously doubt it.
-
For God's sake make whoever is picked wide right, bloody well play there.

Derry who would you liek to see us play right wing? You'd think it woudl make sense to play BWP as apart from twice he appears to haev a phobia about getting to the byline and crossing with his left - despite it being very effective indeed. For me McGoldrick is pointless there and Lallana hasn't done it either. The two wingers thing is crazy seeing as we don't have a fit left or a right winger worth their salt -
after two debarcles we need to see a performance like at Reading where we jumped all over them early doors. I suspect our confidence has taken a sizeable hit this week. Time for players like Lallana, McGoldrick and Robertson to step up to the plate.
-
yeah Jan why aren't you packing the side with ex premiership loanees and buying the cream of the talent from the lower leagues and have us challenge for promotion as we all expected you to do? What's that? We don't have two bras farthing to rub together and therefore can only afford nippers on peanuts and the senior players we couldn't offload in the summer. Does Jan even have a say on transfers?
-
I could. Jan's not the problem. Lack of money is.
-
I agree and he has looked at his best when played just off Patterson - a big target man. I agree we need to lose Pekhart, Smith and Robertson. Saga and John will be back in the window though. I wonder if we will be able to shift them out again? If not will we be able to afford Cork's wages.
-
thankfully they like to pass like we do and don't have a big target man to expose our weakness. They are made for us and we are going to destroy them. Well that's what I have been telling my brother in law who's a Forrest nutter. Unfortuntaly he's been to SMS a few times with me and knows where we are poor and has written to Calderwood with his recommendations. This is the game of the season for me. If we lose its going to eb a bloody tough old xmas.

Top 5 best and worst player to play for saints in CCC

who's opinion are you going to base that on?
