Jesus wept. Okay then.

Specifically "bent" against Southampton Football Club, which by a strange coincidence is the club you happen to support? What would be the point of that if you're Mike Dean? Let us know.

5 seasons in the Premier League not multiple now? Its more than Ralph for a start. 2014 to 2020. How many seasons qualifies as multiple in your world?

You've already done your bit about fucking Gray and Townsend.

Marked downturn? Funny really because I thought 19-20 was a pretty decent season and of course we then went into 20-21 and went top of the league and beat Liverpool etc etc. All of that was sans Danny Rohl. All of it. Or are you conveniently saying that the post Rohl downturn happened after that Liverpool match in Jan 21, 18 months after his departure? As it stands Rohl has not been a manager in his own right anywhere. Let's see where his career takes him. Its pretty clear that Rohl was liked around the place a did a decent job, but the results on the pitch are not really related to his presence. Our very best run was more than a year after he left. Its just a myth clung to on here because there's always been an obsession with assistant managers on this forum and always a massive over estimation on how important they are. So spare us the "look how innovative my thinking is" and look at the actual facts.

I think a bit harsh on Lampard at Derby - he had some decent loanees (Mount and Wilson being the main ones, both still kids really), but I think pushing it to say best squad in the Championship. He did a decent job there, it's a shame he didn't stay another season to actually learn a bit more. Went to CFC far too soon. Not saying I want him here, mind. Needs another role in the Championship. Maybe he could come in alongside Howe and Ralph as part of this mega management team this forum is cooking up?
-
Not really about anyone's "ego" to be fair - Howe is a front line manager with multiple years in the Prem under his belt. We cannot afford two first team managers to cover one job. It would essentially be a constructive dismissal of Ralph. It's just a dopey idea that is never going to happen.

I think its impressive for someone who is just pretending they are injured because they want to leave that they have maintained the pretence throughout the international break. Shows a genuine commitment to the narrative.

Maybe, just maybe, there isn't any takeover talk. Maybe that.

This. West Bromwich is absolutely dreadful.
-
Like where, because if it is any big UK city there will be a Highfield/Chilworth equivalent. As well as a scuzzy part. The City centre of Southampton is dreadfully nondescript, which is not unique (Peterborough, Leicester, Coventry, Derby and others are similarly bland) but Southampton I'd place in the lower end of the scale. There are loads better.

This doesn't really make sense. All cities have leafy suburbs with big houses, that's not some marvellous thing about Southampton. They generally are on an entrance road to every big city as well, so there will always be a posh bit on at least one of the drive-in main roads to any big city in the UK. It's not some exclusive exciting thing that is special about The Avenue. How about every big city has that? It's also not the point. When people visit other cities, they're not parking up in the posh district and wandering around looking at smart 1930s 5-beds with long drives and big gardens. They're going to the city centre. Which, as has been pointed out, is absolutely fucking appalling. Other cities can also be not great, but for a global cruise destination, Southampton is particularly dreadful. So yes congratulations about, er, Highfield being nice and everything. If you'd got out more you'd find areas like that everywhere.

Might be just me but i don't feel that Sam Johnstone is the kind of player that any club will blow another club out of the water for. Feels fairly plausible that he would come to us (if we stay up, which probably will not be clear in January).

Just think of the Ad Hominem attacks you can get away with now.

Waaaaaaah waaaaaaaaaaaah waaaaaaaaah

I am willing to bet a pound to a pinch of shit that every time someone obliterates GMs bullshit with sourced, validated information he cries off about "ad hominem attacks". Waaah waaaaah waaaaaaaaah they're picking on me waaaaaaah Waaaaaaaaaaah

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

WiFi was pretty patchy during the blitz, in fairness. -
Well, yeah. I didn't mean get promoted this season, and I didn't say that. I mean a load of people (including Derby fans) will piss and moan but I think he'll do well with them.
-
Makes a lot of sense. He's probably got a stockpile of black and white scarfs, so he can flog them on. Plus the Sports Direct HQ is pretty local to Derby and is a not insignificant employer in the area. If he gets them on the cheap (which he is very capable of) then he'll get them promoted.

We all knew that before you started this thread, sweetheart. We know.

Nothing says Billionaire Club Global Domination quite like "we are delighted to announce Eddie Howe as First Team Manager".

Except it is exactly the point of the post. Newcastle are gazillionaires now, so what.... The league gets even more top heavy which probably means that the 35 points becomes 32 in the next five years. The bottom 3 are getting more distant every year. The league is still going to have a Norwich/a Fulham/a Saints/a whoever. Making up the numbers but someone has to. I don't think it means that we can't stay up in a division with a Saudi Newcastle in it. Of course we can. We might go down this season of course, but it won't be because of some Arabs.
-
Like you say - might not be unseemly but could be a bullshitter. Or someone that is just going leverage their own buy-out by piling the debt back on to us but they own the stadium forever and lease it etc etc etc. It's more likely its just a shit deal for all concerned.
-
Hasn't been 40 points for something like twenty years, and absolutely nothing to suggest it ever will be again. No idea why people still go on about it.
