  1. Endgame starts now. May has got her piece of paper with her "legal assurances" and everything. So the ladder for the hard Brexiteers to climb down is now there, this is as good as it gets. Make no mistake, they'll climb down, they'll swallow the fu cker whole and vote for the deal just to make sure Brexit happens. No peoples vote, no extension. They will bend over and by jingo they will take it right up em and say it tastes like Christmas cake. For about a day they will claim it as a victory, plus they'll have their little blue passport themed street party on 29th March. And then they will disown said deal the following day and then spend the next decade complaining about the EU and how badly they've treated us and they'd have definitely had done it better if only they were in charge.
  2. It's problematic because it's not like all of those Spurs fans singing Yid Army are actually Jewish themselves so they don't actually have claim on the term.
  3. Sorry I didn't realise all football chairmen must work to an aligned set of rules and assumptions so all their decisions are completely consistent with one another. That said, If you knew anything about Derby then you'd know that Mel Morris suffers no fools and is very quick to sack managers who, on the surface, are doing perfectly well. He likely would have binned the likes of Moore in no time. Lampard has got star power which counts for something but if they finish out of the top 6 then Derby sacking him would be entirely consistent with his previous decisions.
  4. Looks harsh but WBA haven't won at home since Boxing day and they are clearly on the slide. Moore was never more than a glorified caretaker, a Steve Wigley type figure who got a bit of feel good factor and was lucky that it carried on into the early weeks of the new season. The longer he was in charge, the worse they got as he's just not got the knowledge/skills to take that kind of job on. Pretty laughable that some on this forum were drooling over him as the man to rejuvenate Saints. However, I think he should have been given the opportunity to take them to the play offs. It's a lottery and maybe they'd have snuck up. They'd better have a replacement planned and in otherwise it could backfire.
  5. They've bottled phase one - automatic promotion is not happening now. However I'd say that they are nailed on for a play off place - even they can't screw that up now. So they can still get to Wembley and/or get promotion. So it's not over yet, although blowing automatic from where they were on New Year's Day is LOLtastic enough.
  6. Alpine worked his magic yet again.
  7. For God's sake can we at least get a point out of this game now, lads. Come on!
  8. Quite. But mainly it's on us. There far far too many posts on here fannying on about what Brighton or Palace or Newcastle are doing, like they are all going to commit suicide to allow us to stay up. We really needed a point from the two games vs United/Spurs. So we could do with a point today which guarantees 17th for a couple of weeks.
  9. Only if Cardiff win and we get nothing. All other clubs and results are irrelevant. It's us or Cardiff.
  10. He won't go anywhere this summer.
  11. Fulham are relegated. Even if they win today they are relegated. They aren't going to get 18-20 points in 9 games.
  12. 20 points clear of the team third from bottom would put us about eighth come the end of the season. You sure about that?
  13. He definitely has something to offer clubs in the lower leagues so could be an excellent fit.
  14. Isn't that great big white rectangular object a slightly bigger target to aim shots at than a particular player's arm?
  15. I like how this is being presented as a "ah, well, what can you do" excuse. You realise that it was us that would have agreed to such retarded terms in the first place. The point stands that we flogged him for a ridiculous price and he's made us look ever more stupid as his and our seasons have panned out. Lastly, how come this release clause wasn't mentioned in the reports at the time?
  16. Have to say I agree. Over the past month we should have got ourselves into a secure position where we could have travelled to Old Trafford, got done 0-2 and it not mattering at all. But we utterly blew it. You are correct that we mastered the great-performance/noble-defeat thing against big clubs under Pellegrino and Hughes. Nothing special. I see it as players playing for their own career rather than to actually benefit the team. Let's try like that against Brighton lads, or why not do it versus Cardiff, Palace and Burnley last month? I thought we'd need to score 3 to get a point before kick-off and so it proved. I do think we can stay up because Cardiff are shot, but I am still not convinced where we will actually secure any points.

I think the main problem is Bournemouth getting promoted meant that all those people from Exeter and Truro and Weston-Super-Mare and Axminster who were definitely going to all support Premier League Saints have all decided to support Premier League Cherries instead. It's completely wrecked the excellent business plan this forum's finest minds had come up with.
  18. Happy with the points but we didn't look like a team that could beat anyone other than Fulham or Huddersfield. Still a lot to do.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we are definitely going to win. Just that winning this match won't really decide our survival just like losing at the Emirates didn't decide our relegation.
  20. Fulham go into the second half with absolutely nothing to lose. They score early and we are perfectly capable of collapsing. Get at em early lads.
  21. Quite. It's the precise opposite of the "well, what did you expect away against Arsenal" routine. Winning this match should be a cakewalk. It does not mean we are suddenly any good and back on form. Fulham look effing terrible.
  22. Only four more goals and we go above Brighton.
  23. Would have liked to see Armstrong myself but let's see how this caged-tigers all-guns-blazing team get on.
  24. "Hello, is that Garrotte World, north Hampshire's leading one-stop shop for all your strangulation needs?" "It is" "Can i check your bulk-buy rates, I might need to up my order of piano wire"
  25. 100% this. We can't spend the season hoping for other results to go our way. We actually have to score goals, win our own games, that kind of thing. And if we cannot beat Fulham at home in these circumstances then we probably are the third worst team in the division and relegation would be a fair outcome.
