  1. I'm stubbornly refusing to believe they will establish us as a mid table Premier League club. They are solidly on track for two Premier League seasons = two Premier league bottom place finishes. That very much IS happening. Building a hotel or a cinema somewhere adjacent to the stadium is neither here nor there in the scheme of things. Bournemouth play in a ground not much bigger than Court 18 at Wimbledon and are streets ahead of us now. Sport Republic have been proven you be utterly hopeless at running a top level football club. I couldn't give a fuck how they get on in mixed-use commercial property development.
  2. There was a simple pass back to the centre back that was very much on for Che there. Really he's let his team mates down.
  3. Perfection 👌
  4. Buckle up, everyone.
  5. The two choices would have been a Premier League contract or sacking him. I don't think the second option would have been plausible. We would never have been that "brave".
  6. You people just don't understand top level football like the geniuses at Sport Republic and the handful of awfully clever types on here who think this is the masterplan.
  7. It won't surprise me to see Farage and co label this as "Labour red tape" rather than precisely the Brexit they demanded.
  8. This is a load of disingenuous bullshit. Loads of teams get relegated and as a result sell players, we were fortunate to sell players like Lavia and JWP for big money. All relegated teams have player churn. We also spent big on players and wages for the division and kept Premier League players like KWP, Bednarek and others. We spent £8m on a striker for example, not hugely common in the second tier. Plenty of other managers take a Championship team up in one season. Scott Parker, Kompany, Maresca, etc. Let's not start pretending that Russell Martin achieved some miracle, we should have been top 3 on any metric, in any season, all day long. Russell Martin does not deserve to stay. If SR want to be pig headed about it fine but he will not be popular and will get the shortest of shrift if by a miracle he is still in charge come August.
  9. He's not on the shortlist for BBC Sports Personality. FFS.
  10. You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout I'm telling you why The manager of Santa Clara is coming to town He sees defenders sleeping He knows they're not awake Strikers who've been bad or good Be good for goodness sake You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout I'm telling you why Vasco Matos is coming to town
  11. Any manager "worth his salt" can get more than 5 points from 15 matches, right? Agree or not?
  12. Nope. Try again sweetheart.
  13. It's still a shit metric. In the 3 games (bare minimum) it will take us to get those points why are the rest of our rivals conveniently losing every single game? Even if we got those 9 points we'd still be in the relegation zone guaranteed. That's the point. We all know what you're doing by the way. It won't work. Last point - why hasn't the manager we've got now not done better than 5 points from 15 matches? Are you admitting he's not "worth his salt"?.
  14. We're relegated already so fuck knows where you've cooked up that shite.
  15. I haven't checked for while so maybe you could list out the clubs that have survived relegation from the Premier League on 14 points?
  16. We're not 9 points from safety. The next manager will not keep us up because your guy has fucked the entire season in 15 games. Sacking the manager is not about staying up. It's about sacking. the. manager.
  17. The fact the we are already relegated is not a reason to not sack Martin. I don't expect any replacement to keep us up, no chance now. That doesn't mean we should continue to feed the preening ego and future job prospects of the guy who got us in this mess.
  18. Exactly. These demands for some perfect "viable" replacement seem to be completely ignoring the recruitment of Russell Martin himself - he was hardly some no-brainer outstanding unquestionable viable appointment. Most fans either shrugged, hadn't even heard of him, or thought he'd be shite. He wasn’t the name on everyone's lips that's for sure. Someone will have to trawl up all the forum posts on here from Summer 23 all agreeing that "it HAS to be Russell Martin he's the only guy we should go for" (don't bother we all know there weren't any). So fuck knows why Russell Martin's replacement is being held to a higher bar than he was himself. Especially as Russell Martin has proved to the single worst manager in Premier League history.
  19. Not ready to believe it yet.
  20. He'll have to remind us whose fault it is for the 60+ goals conceded in the Championship for three consecutive seasons, plus the boatload this season. Are they all the fans fault as well? Arrogant deluded prick. Tick tock.
  21. Because we wouldn't have negotiated his Premier League terms when we got him from Swansea. But it looks like there was a clear option to extend/review on promotion. Which to be honest, even now, seems fair enough.
  22. Some genius will be along in a minute to pretend that no manager alive or dead from Pep to Ferguson in his peak could do any better with this squad than one win and 5 points from 15 games. Russell Martin is the absolute best available manager on the planet.

    The Media

Is now the right time to declare I too have spent some of my career in the Sales/Circulation departments of a large Newspaper Group? Twenty years ago now. True story. It all came to an abrupt end but that's what happens when you work with middle class women of a certain age. You try and cheer people up with the old "trouser elephant" routine but it only takes five or six of them to complain to spoil it for everyone.
  24. In "full context" it reads like he is an arrogant, deluded cunt.
  25. Indeed. Mark Hughes at his shittest (which is what he was with us) is still infinitely better than Russell Martin. When Russell Martin has taken 4 seperate clubs into the top 10 of the Premier League the fan club can come back to me.
