  1. If he could stay for one more year at Brighton but left then that tells you he wants a 2 year deal. That's obviously the reason he left Brighton.
  2. Wouldn't want Lallana or Ings. I always think that bringing in players to "teach" younger players is a load of guff. If he is coming in as a pure coach then fine. But seems an absolute waste of a squad number and a players wage. Ings can also, politely, fuck off. He's done nothing for two seasons for two clubs so no thanks.
  3. They don't very often get "silly money", though - think what we have given them over the years. Apparently the £12m we paid for Wanyama ten years ago is still quite high on their record fees received. We gave them even less for Virgil.
  4. They have just about got us to where we were in the first place before they bought us. They've rectified their own fuck up, I'll give you that. Let's see what they do next before we commission the marble statues.
  5. You know we got relegated in an absolute car crash of a season, don't you? Or did you spend that entire season saying that those guys are the best club owners any fan could ever wish for?
  6. We are the traditional next step for Celtic starlets though. Sounds like a good fit especially with the Russell Martin link - too perfect.
  7. No idea where this myth has come from, it keeps coming up. 34 Premier League starts. 9 out of 10 of their European matches he started. 52 appearances in all. Fifty two. He was on the bench for a couple of games and people have gone absolutely wild. It's like people on this forum are desperate for the narrative to be that he left us and he has failed.
  8. Forest went up via the play offs and then signed 30 odd players in one window. Stayed up at our expense though, so maybe we should just do that. Why sign one left back when you can sign four?
  9. And where does Wayne Bridge fit into this masterplan?
  10. If you are happy to pay then you could buy a NOW TV month or day subscription, you will be able to rewatch there. Probably your most reliable option, not sure the dodgy streamers are that useful for re-watching things.

He's a West Ham fan of course bit hopefully he can see (and be convinced) that his best chance of regular PL football is with us.
  12. As I am sure you will all appreciate, the Circle Of Trust in is Level 5 lockdown as of 0900 this morning. This is of course in recognition of the increased security risk relating to our newly elevated status, and the levels of interest widening and rising. Please remain patient and vigilant.
  13. Nothing that a sprinkling of Man City 19 year olds can't sort out.
  14. Excellent write up - spot on.
  15. So you do understand how context works, well done. You accept Russell Martin's own description that he hadn't achieved anything as a manager until yesterday then? Thanks.
  16. In his own post match interview he himself said "I hadn't achieved anything [as a manager] until today". Winning yesterday doesn't suddenly magic up achievements at MK and Swansea. God knows why you are saying "maybe" he deserves a shot at the big time - obviously he does, he has literally learnt his shot. Well done Russell.
  17. Just got home after a long day. Absolutely fantastic. Tactically brilliant from Russell Martin. He has absolutely stepped up this month. Although we were all nervous for the whole game, we didnt need to be - Leeds didn't offer that much, because we stopped them playing. Front to back the team worked so hard and we will need that next year. In the frickin Prem. Well done Saints.
  18. Fair play the trophy you get looks absolutely massive
  19. You'll be pleased to know I made it! Thanks Green Flag and a tyre garage in Rugby....
  20. The point was people saying our relegation was "inevitable" when it wasn't. It was a result of decisions made.
  21. CB Fry fans will be interested to know my car has broken down on the M1 south on the way to Wembley. Just stood in the rain watching the Leeds coaches and cars with scarves fly by. 😫
  22. .....so the only course of action Sports Republic could possibly take is to sack Ralph and replace with Nathan Jones. The only players they could sign were the ones they did. Do me a favour. Businesses, leaders make choices. You might well think SR are all simply marvellous but the point is relegation was not "inevitable" it was a result of decisions made by Sports Republic who had, let's remember, arrived 7 months before that season started.
  23. Fuck knows what slam dunk point you think you are making. Sports Republic inherited a club with Ralph Hasenhuttl. They didn't inherit a hypothetical football club that you've made up in your own head.
  24. Yeah, let's just call that horseshit. Nathan Jones was appointed and won one in eight and fucked our entire season. Appointed by Sports Republic. Selles finished the job, appointed by Sports Republic. With a squad assembled in the summer and January transfer windows by Sports Republic. Not Gao, Sports Republic. In January 2022 we were higher placed in the league than (for example) Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. What we had "sown" was a Premier League club with a Champions League experirenced manager. That's what SR inherited. What we then "reaped" was finishing below all three of those teams (and every team) in the league by May '23. Because of decisions made by Sports Republic on playing and coaching staff - they sowed it, we reaped it.
  25. Sports Republic took over in January 2022 so that squad was their squad, on their watch. Their decisions. Their decision on sacking the manager, their decision on the replacement (and his replacement).
