I think he people that think that can be measured on the scale from pretty much no one all the way to no one.

The zero-sentiment business model got Premier League SFC to achieve commercial revenues lower than second tier Watford. That is a pretty special feat, granted.

Absolutely this. In most cases over the last decade or so the League Cup final has been decided by at least one top four contender team. So it shows a significant lack of understanding that winning the league cup is precisely what teams at that level tend to do. The league-only chaps really don't have a grasp on the notion of true ambition. Join us and let's go for a trophy.

Ham hand. All day long.

Since when does finishing seventh constitute "making history" anyway? Anyone going to rattle off those legendary seventh placed teams from down the ages?

Will this be the best transfer window for Saints ever?

If "we are all a bunch of tw ats" is what passes for an "accurate assessment" for you then I think you are easily satisfied. You might want to read VFTT's for a far more accurate assessment of what actually happened. -

In summary you spent the summer grizzling like a toddler. -
So basically, what you're saying is "please say we'll win Lawro. Please say we'll win. Please Lawro. Please just say we'll win. Please. Lawro, please."

Delighted to be utterly clueless. -
Alternative table - fixture compensated race for Europe
CB Fry replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
No-one said it is contentious. Just pretty pointless. No one thinks we are "only there because of fixtures". No one at all. What is true is our fixtures have been pretty kind so far. We're third, it's brilliant. It's unlikely we will be third come May, not least because we have some tough fixtures coming up and we probably won't maintain this form (almost title winning form) all season. But it is currently looking very good for us to beat in points or position what we did last season. Happy days. That's a perfectly valid stance to take and it isn't down to you to decide that opinion can't be expressed on this thread. -

Has it really though? It's not like we have ever been specialists at beating the big teams, either. We've been, at best, a mid table Prem team. Doing what mid table Prem teams do. Win some you expect to, lose some you expect to, and in the middle win and lose some you don't expect to. Not really rocket science. As it stands this season we have done very well, with a comparatively easy set of games. We're third. Let's enjoy it without beating ourselves up about making up completely fictional league tables. The discussion about the word "tie" is the best bit of this thread. -

Is "tie" an Americanism? They've been saying "ties will be played on the weekend of so-and-so" at the end of the FA Cup draws for as long as I can remember. Which is a reasonably long time. -
Ah, okay. Thay pre-dates me. Derby these days is a veritable hot-bed of lovely little pubs and local breweries. Anyone who likes a decent ale should be supporting the efforts of honorary Dutchman Steve McClaren on getting the Rams promoted.

What Pub is that?

Bear, I can probably hook you up. You need an active profile that "the agency" can reach you on. Like LinkedIn. Or, in my case, Grindr.
-
Google it. The freedom fighting truth seekers are already on the case. I sh it you not. There are videos. "All the hallmarks", apparently. That's the "official narrative" gone for a burton already. What a waste of all that planning and staging and auditions.
-
Quite. The attacks on the McCanns on here by the likes of SOG have been pretty shameful.
-
You've found a site where you can perpetuate your hateful lies about the McCanns with like minded liars, then good for you. If it keeps your ill-informed nonsense off this forum then everyone's a winner.

The Sun, The Mirror, The Star and their Sunday equivalents. None of the papers you mention.

They supposedly have lots of good young players (and ex SFC academy bods too) so could be a lovely opportunity for him. Doubt he'll get the chance though.

Let's be honest. It doesn't matter. I am enjoying Spurs and Liverpool losing/not winning but not because of our League position. It's just funny. The rest of it? can't say it bothers me at this point. We're not CL contenders yet. For now, if we win we're third at least. Great. Just keep the run going is all. There are tougher challenges ahead so let's stockpile points now.

Warnock was lucky to get the Palace job. He has no record of success in the top flight at all. He has one more second tier promotion than our Nige, though. But you're right, the only way for Adkins to get a Premier League job is to get promoted into one. Its looking like that isn't going to happen at Reading, but he should get another shot in the second tier if he gets the elbow there. The club he could end up at, and achieve that promotion? Wigan. Watch this space.
