Could be Brucie's people angling for a new contract and/or more transfer funds. Put the wind up em.
-
That was never going to happen.

If true, sounds good. Get the feeling Yakin never really in the running after all. Not a huge amount of point having a second round with anyone apart from the preferred candidate, so imagine they are looking to get a deal done now. Perfectly happy with Koeman, though. Sometime next week, then, chaps.

He's hardly an "out and out skate". 30 whole appearances, which makes him less of a skate than Mick Channon.
-
If by "some" you mean "people who get stupidly worked up about some half baked speculation from a 23 year old work experience kid a betting website with no more information than anyone on here" then I agree some will.

You have just been appointed Southamptons new manager

We won't spend twenty five million pounds on a freaking left back. Smash your keyboard as much as you like. -

We are not going to sell a left back for twenty five million pounds, and then replace him by with a left back costing twenty five million pounds. Use as many double question marks??, CAPITAL LETTERS and "quotation marks" as you like to demonstrate your lack of understanding, you swivel - eyed lunatic. -

We would not need £50m to replace Lallana and Shaw, you nutcase. Just a steady stream of drivel from you now isn't it? -
There were some reports it had fallen through and I can't see any reports that it is done and dusted. So not over yet, I think.

This, or Yakin for me - don't think he's gone to Russia yet.

Are they all real players? Some of them sound like names off of The Day Today. -

My co-manager would be Susanna Reid. -
It's awful, our sash kit was good because it was nicely made without horrible shiny panels etc. Non- football shirt wearers could wear it. That Boro kit is a good reason to not have sash every season.

Well, that's a fairly disingenuous comparison, as that was a situation engineered by Cortese - if he'd sacked Adkins and then started his search he would look rather silly. Quite frankly it makes pretty much no difference if we appoint someone at 5pm today or at 5pm a week on Friday. It's only a few wallies on a forum (me included) obsessively refreshing on forums who can't wait. We will have a manager soon.

It would be a glorified sabbatical. Just at a "big" club, some easy trophies in the bag and guaranteed Champions League. Basically, what I said in my first post about it. I think it is easy to see why that might be a better move for him right now than taking over at, say, Villa (or Saints) just to prove he can finish eighth - sixth in the league. That is not really the gap in his CV. And in a year or two he could easily get a Villa/Toon/Sunderland job - those three are hardly managed by stellar names now, and in 2016 there will be a vacancy somewhere. Personally I would like to see him have a crack at the German League as he said he wanted to. Either way, I can why a move to a middling Prem club right now may not motivate him. Anyway, not really the topic. Can't see him coming to us for the reasons above.
-
He'll play Champions League matches, that's how. The Celtic role is what it is but it has its benefits as I am sure O'Neill and our Gordon would testify. I can see how that could be more appealing than taking over a middling Premier League team, a role in which he has nothing to prove. Can he manage a team to finish 8th in the Prem? Well, yeah. Taking over at Newcastle, Villa (or Saints) can't be that appealing right now. At least Celtic gives him some guaranteed European football. He'd only need to do a season or two and he'd still walk into a Prem job. He might be bolder and go to a German club but not convinced he is that much of a risk taker. That said if he rocked up at Saints I'd be surprised but delighted.
-
Easy rumour to pull together. Would be a good move for him, giving him a few fish-in-a-barrel opportunities to win trophies and some much needed CL experience. That might get his eye in again before he lands the big one at Newcastle United. Big old pay cut though.
-
You're terrible, Muriel.
-
The commentators would look even more clueless if they kept referring to him as a Southampton player.
-
Did Fulham sack Les Reed?
-
My instinctive reaction too. Just happy for him. Lovely goal.
-
Magath is a funny one. If he had never been at Fulham it would feel like a right coup. But he was there and down they went. And yes, relegation not his fault but it still makes it less appealing for me. If we are asking permission to speak to Fulham it means he's effectively got the job, because we can't make him quit just to be on a bloody shortlist. Luckily, it's only the Daily Mirror. Get YakIN FFS.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of doling out my kit catchphrase. Don't get all this stuff about how plain red allows clubs to be "dramatically different" in a way stripes can't. How have Liverpool, Man United of Arsenal turned out dramatically different kits every season?
-
Pretty breathtaking revisionism, there.
-
Depends what you mean by "deal", really. I doubt Pulis signed anything, and come the day of reckoning no one knows what would have really happened, especially as it never looked like we were ever going to sack our George.
