  1. There's people on here who getting upset that Lovren was "tapped up" after, yes after, Liverpool had made a firm bid. If that, and this Shaw thing, is "tapping up", then let's just accept that every single football transfer that has happened or every will happen involves tapping up.
  2. This thread is for talking about ancient old birds and slagging off Dubai Phil. For now, it's just a warning, but be careful.
  3. The premier league is full of far too many teams wearing parochial striped shirts so it's amazing the sartorially gifted American populace can even bear to look at their television screens.
  4. Thanks everyone for the link.
  5. Where is his latest post?
  6. Which one of our players "came out and pined for a move" before it was common knowledge that bigger clubs had made firm enquiries? If Man City suddenly rocked up with a £30m bid for RB, then we'll see what happens. Likely the same result as Rodwell, Lescott and Co. With Baines the only exception that anyone can come up with. It's likely, as with Shaw last year, that he is simply being "monitored" right now.

  8. Nah, I'm you.
  9. Does Poyet's rant make Sunderland the laughing stock of all football or is that still just us?
  10. If we'd signed a new striker for 10m I think we'd be excited, ditto Lescott. That said, both could easily flop, like Fulham ' s 10m Greek from January, and anyone we buy this summer. And it's hard to imagine their manager being anything other than an abject failure.
  11. Except MLG isn't talking about "some players". He's talking about three specific players, so it's you trying to simplify things with forum "what-about-ery". Simple minds indeed.
  12. We should under no circumstances be buying a second choice keeper. And if pay eight million for a goalie he clearly won't be second choice.
  13. Give me strength.
  14. Sorry, you're dealing with forum expertise here, a world where people just accept the first offer put in front of them.
  15. Which is an opinion it is absolutely fine to hold.
  16. Well, you directly replied to me suggesting I am "blaming" Cortese for something. I replied to say I have done no such thing and your response to that was to pretend that you directly so quoting me and replying to it was not aimed at me but other people. To that I say, fine. Okay then. If you want a general point, it's this - stop trying to find someone to blame - Katherina cashing in seems to be your new favourite. The world really ain't that simple.
  17. I wasn't asking everyone. I was asking the man who said he "so wanted us to go out in the group stages" and then was absolutely furious when he got his wish. Oh, and he's "always been anti-England", always.
  18. I wasn't asking everyone.
  19. But, of course. I wonder if that if this little utopia in your head will ever be delivered to your satisfaction. Or will we remain in your constant loop of "I hate England I hope they lose//I hate England because they've lost" circle of death? Let's see, shall we.
  20. Why do you want the England team to improve?
  21. Last season there were far too many dinlows valuing the false glory of finishing seventh and looking down on winning an actual trophy, having a day at Wembley with their friends and celebrating success. It was a well worn debate but suffice to say those that said finishing that one place higher in the league would better enable us to "build" for the following season have not quite seen things play out as expected. Let's try and actually do well in the cups this season, hey?
  22. Well he didn't go there directly after recieving plaudits from all over following a very successful world cup campaign. That's the point. Ron Vlaar, right now, is not actively deciding which club to join. De Vrijs, clearly, is. And he will have more than one option. If someone comes in for a bid for him then Vlaar might have a choice to make. But he is not open to offers in quite the same way that De Vrijs is. And, yes, Villa are bigger than us anyway.
  23. Vlaar is contacted to Villa. Not really sure what point your what-about-ery is trying to make. De Vrijs is definitely moving on this summer, and will probably have a choice of clubs.
