  1. I know, Um. Was one of my probably too subtle pi ss takes of forum thinking. You're not here often enough to pick up on it these days. Basically you are never more than twenty posts away from someone making the same points about Suarez and/or Everton.
  2. He did set up the Academy. And he made some excellent appointments (Prost, Elias, Jennings) to head up that academy, which were the strong foundations for what we have now. He deserves a lot of credit for that. And please don't reply with a list of players like Channon, Wallace and Le Tiss. We know.
  3. Also I think I remember one person once might have mentioned Suarez at Liverpool and Everton holding on to their young players as examples that any club with an ounce of sense can fend off bids and interest from other clubs. I mean it's prety easy to do this and just goes to show how useless our board is. Oh, and when we take an interest in a player at another club we should be strolling in and just taking them and getting it done. I mean it's pretty easy to do this and shows how useless our board is.
  4. Jordan Sibley is a maverick press officer and he is outta control, people. Or something.
  5. Our Rupert would have managed this summer far better than the utter shambles we have now. He wouldn't have kept them all but he would have kept some and delivered a "rebuild" more effectively than this.
  6. Just cannot see Vlaar coming at all. Just using us for a new AVFC contract or to flush out another club. Hope I'm wrong but this one makes no sense for anyone.
  7. They have enough money and enough of a prospect of sneaking CL for RB to give it one more season. A nice deal, efficiently done. Our "outstanding" executive team could learn a bit from them. But, as people like to ignore, they are Everton. Multi League winning Everton. One of England's great clubs Everton. Top six-eight for a decade Everton. 16 points better than us Everton. That Everton. The comparisons are pretty silly.
  8. This. Morgan getting his arse out is heartbreaking because he has been a magnificent servant. A stroppy tweet from Calum Chambers if we turned him down? Yeah, fu ck off kid. The easiest "no" we had, and we blew it. If 20 games Chambers cam walk, how on earth can we make 200 game Morgan stay.
  9. Was his collection of Saints match day magazines from the last six years damaged beyond repair in some way?
  10. Any news from Dan Harding's father in law?
  11. Outstanding job, not great job. OUTSTANDING. Have some respect FFS.
  12. Ralph said he didn't speak to the people he met about Morgan. This might be technically true. That's the level we're dealing with. And Chambers was ill.
  13. We nearly went out of business completely, you know. Honest we did.
  14. Well, I'm with you. Not really a priority in our current state.
  15. Pretty sure you've made your point about Everton now.
  16. If you're going to merge all the threads you could at least put the link up for the solent one at the top of page one. Impossible to find on Tapatalk.
  17. It's gone beyond what he or Les or even Ron says. It's actions they will be judged on. I would be amazed if Morgan is still here come Sept 1st.
  18. He was in the Chilworth Arms last night. Quiet drink, not a birthday do. True story.
  19. I'd actually be more confident of them staying if Ralphy comes out later and says "we are working very hard to sell them both and should have some news soon".
  20. 10. Progress up the standings As in "through our soul crushing incompetence we have royally guffed up any chance we had of progressing up the standings".
  21. This can only end well.
  22. He's saying players leave because other clubs offer CL Football, which clearly outranks any "ambition" of CL football.
  23. I don't think a single person on this forum is assessing our current situation in the way you describe, so I really don't know what your point is.
  24. I think trousers is talking about reasons for players staying not reasons for joining. That's pretty clear in his post.
  25. The stripes thing was not the main point of that post. It was a fairly blunt rant with no great point. (*free shot at CB Fry everyone) I've said plenty of times Cortese got more right than wrong. He built a successful club and was clever enough to invest in the academy, and a rare feat of three successful managerial appointments in a row. He got plenty wrong throughout his tenure and the way it has ended and some (not all) of the fall out we see now is a direct result of him being here and the culture he created. I can still reserve the right to call him a weasel faced helmet and I am delighted he will never be at the club again.
