We are a bed in, develop, progress a player type club. Minamino is here to see if he can make it in the Prem and Liverpool trust us to do that. That is a plus and hopefully can get us to finish as high up the league as we can on a club that doesn't spend out high in normal times, let alone a pandemic.

I love the continued dumbfoundedness at our transfer policy. Surely we're used to this by now. A player does well then they leave whilst we can make a return. We buy X player cheap, in the hope they turn good, bed them in; rince and repeat. Obviously we've fucked this up many times recently. If only Ings stated that he'd had enough of the bullshit merry-go-round and he's happy here until he cannot make it in the prem then will angle for a move to the championship. If he goes he goes, we'll go on to the next, there is nothing we can do to change this so I don't waste a minute worrying about it.
-
Oh wow. What a result.

If Newcastle can hold them then we can. Also we could fuck that up quite easily, but again, if Newcastle can hold them then Saints can do at least as well. No fans will be helpful to not drag the mood down and a lot of fans are only too glad to moan

I can't see anything past this statement.

I had to go back and hear him say that again. Jesus wept how little did he watch that match. Just looking up now and then from his phone at some highlights at a guess. But to name a player that's at another club is baffling.

Some good reads there, sort of read then destroy. Didn't read The Times one obviously. Thanks.

Great to see. Get in guys. Signing Walcott is turning out to be a genius move.

Great to see and on the BBC sports page now

Juventus players taking a four month pay freeze. Good for them and the least they could all, in the top flight leagues, do. For some reason I can't see that happening over here. I really hope I'm wrong. In the long run it's in their own interests surely?

Simple yes or no...Lallana on a free in the summer?
Dry Toast replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
No...But then I doubt he'd want to come back and will have better offers, wage wise at least, elsewhere. -
Yep Ambsaint, this year City have collapsed. Leicester are as good as they could be and the rest are average to bad. Liverpool are head and shoulders above everyone this year and is clear to see they will go unbeaten in the league. All hail a good summer of business but we all know it'll be a long drawn out deadline day affair, buying wise anyway.
-
What I can see is that as we are doing 'not bad' at the moment we won't be signing anyone. That's okay with me, as long as we don't hit trouble, as we all know January is a month to be taken to the cleaners. Our owners are more than aware of this, I'd hope. We will get through this season and go around again for the next in much the same way. I'm now pretty sure our over-lords won't see us go down, easily, but there's no great urge to push on to greater things. Just stay there or there abouts and all's well in their eyes. Not pretty but not pompey.

Hmm. Seen better. Won't matter what manager we have, it's all about the apathy at the top.

Once we settled down there was never any doubt. GET IN!

Always a weird one with Saints, playing a 'top' side that is. Could be anything from an annoying 1-2 loss to a 0-4 drubbing. Then again a 1-1 or 1-0 not unfeasible. Any guess is as good as anyones.

To be fair, when I was 13, I'd have been carrying knives, drugs and hooky contracts for decent defenders. So maybe justified?

Me or one of my brothers won in a similar situation in the late 80's. Was told it was going to be signed by Southampton players. When we got it it was plastic (a bit heavier duty than a Shoot 5) and signed by that lot down the road. We just played with it in the road 'til it was dead. Cheap arsed school in the West of Hampshire.
-
Fair enough. Still funny how some don't want to admit they were (effectively)trolled by the club.

I love how this thread went dead once they released the kit vid. 'You think that's funny?' From some. Hahaha. Some of you are so deadly serious that it's worrying. We're not talking Chris Morris levels of depth or the quick back and forth of Peep Show but the video was a bit of amusement. Not an attempt at a Bafta. It's a football kit reveal. Life or death of their football club, to some, it would appear. I couldn't give a ****, the same problem (for some) will rear it's ugly head in 12 months.

Best thread in a while. Well done all, especially LDSports. Going to ride this train and see where it goes, I love an adventure. The squirrel. That's so funny.

On one of our last saving the South coast (bucket ringing) missions, in about 98-99? One of those, no shocks, B'mouth, I went with a couple of others and was surprised when the guy I was next to started shouting to the B'mouth guy,'yah black ****'. As he had got the ticket for me that eve I had no hesitation in telling him, 'Nah, not here man.' He looked at me sideways but did not carry on the abuse. He was 10 years on me as well but just shut up. No doubt if he was with his usual crowd he'd have carried on unchecked. I know he didn't talk to me as much after that, that I can handle.

Perhaps the unmarried guy has got bored of his women or perhaps the unmarried women has got bored of her man. This has nothing to do with football.
