Only works when the player is fine with staying put - that's something you could learn
-
So you think Jay Rod was a poor purchase then.
-
Very similar to what many said about Jay Rod. Give yourself a break until you see the goods pal
-
This is not a poll

Why are people so obsessed with what players cost, rather than how good these players are? Lukaku looks like following a decent loan season with a transfer.
-
Evidence that they are "not bothered"?

I have just picked up an M4 travel speaker. Excellent little device, £21, bluetooth or cable, will easily fit into a suitcase but frankly not out of place at home in a smaller room either. I am hooked on Veho!

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
Bucks Saint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
No it does not. Did you not spot this? "...typically when the seller faces bankruptcy or other impending distress". Philanthropy apart, there is no reason at all to have an objective to sell for as low as possible, which you keep ignoring. Your link gives a big clue about why a fire sale is needed - to raise money as quickly as possible to deal with impending distress, such as a bank demand, a loan repayment, rent arrears, creditor pressure or a CCJ. -

Unless you are a philanthropist, why would you ever want to achieve the lowest possible price? Fire sale means your objective is speed, i.e to raise money quickly. Yes of course that means discounted prices to help achieve the aim, but speed remains the aim, not raising as little as possible like you said. -

Nope. Fire sale = sell as much as you can, as quickly as you can. Hence the term "fire" as in, there's a fire, hurry the Feck up. It may mean that prices end up low, but thats not the aim -
Statistics statistics! Even if they are reliable (think how many times the BBC had our possession % totally understated last season)... Well, he played 7 games, 670 minutes, and won a total of 5 tackles. I saw players go past him or win 50:50 tackles a good few times and thought he was a weak link in otherwise a very good team. Lots of players are linked with top clubs, does not necessarily mean anything. Maybe he is much better normally, but he looked average in the WC
-
I would be surprised if they go for Blind, and I hope we dont, because he did not look all that great at the WC. Would happily have most of his team mates, but not him thanks
-
Excellent performance last night, even Maxwell scored runs. Apart from Vince needing to end his nightmare streak and a few less dropped catches, we were almost back to the T20 best and it was great to watch. Even if we are away, which looks very likely, at least we have some momentum going into the quarter final.

Great thread thanks. I am just compiling a list of those who believe that we really should start off by offering a figure that is at least as much as a selling club want, and maybe a little more, to make sure we land the player straight away and dont bring any "derision" on SFC. I will certainly offer this list of people first choice to buy my car, house, or anything else that I may sell in future. cheers

Thats RK off the SWF annual party invite list then

Posted this in the Tech section. Speakers have decent reviews, good features and at very sensible prices (not via Saints store though!) http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51040-Veho-speakers&p=1997127#post1997127

If RK says there is no need to hurry, then why do you know better? Are you taking over?

Most of them have more intelligence than you seem to think -
In answer to the question, yes, assuming thats as well as we can do. Enjoy the entertainment, savour the performances and the wins and be thankful you dont follow a team that is downtrodden, awful to watch and skint.
-
Excellent, thanks. Oh and thanks for dropping in how you are on holiday! Enjoy

Just ordered a couple of shiny new speakers from those nice people at Veho. Well, to be honest, only one came direct from them, the other from Amazon. Anyway, I have bought an X1 small wireless speaker plus an X3 wireless subwoofer package, as presents for my lad to use with his laptop and phone. Reviews were good, prices very sensible but I mainly liked the fact that they use dongles to communicate with devices, giving a much stronger signal than Bluetooth does and much better range. Has anyone else got these, or other Veho speakers?

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez

I imagine someone will know much more than me on this, but I think its a combination of: (1) much less risk for an existing club as no transfer fee to pay. Wages will be the same for both; (2) the medical and insurance points are much more of an issue for a club without any existing exposure to liability for the player; (3) the existing club obviously has very detailed knowledge of the player, the injury and the prognosis, so can judge the situation far better. I am sure there have been past examples elsewhere of a player with a known injury not getting a move to a new club and then signing an extension with their existing one, though I am not able to recall names -

yep but as stated on here there is no way he would pass a medical, so its tosh for the media to say he has offers from elsewhere -
Yes but thats not what he said (he was upset with me for not quoting his exact words). I have not yet started doubting the board. Very happy with the manager and happy with the signings so far, confident that there are more to come and particularly happy that we are keeping most of the work quiet
