  1. No thanks! Didn’t that happen to Wigan and look where they are now. I’ll take a cup win and mid-table thanks 😊
  2. Really enjoying the pod guys, it's like therapy to me during our current rotten run.
  3. Maybe because we're 70-1 to go down with the bookies? Still work to be done but they are supremely confident that it's a formality...
  4. Still looking very unlikely to go down, but only point of caution is that our gap from the bottom three has eroded from 19 points after Liverpool at home to 7 now. But with our favorable fixtures, and some tough ones for the likes of Newcastle, you'd have to say we're in close thread territory.
  5. Ahh well, it won’t be 9-0. Would be nice to keep them down to no more than six.
  6. I see JWP and CA made Garth Crook's team of the week. Makes a nice change, but then he had to spoilt it by saying that JWP needs to move to Liverpool in the summer. I remember him doing the same when Lemina had one good game for us (think it was Arsenal that he was selling him to). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56324917
  7. Well done lads, better times ahead (after mid-week) 😇
  8. Chuffed for the lad, he likes playing against the blades!
  9. Huh? So he can feign injury for the next few months?
  10. Must be something in the air as I’ve woken up today with a very good feeling. 3-1 Saints!
  11. A moments silence for Liverpool? 🤔 Nah 😃
  12. I think we really need to take the recent injury problems, congested fixture list and tough games into account. I really do expect us to beat Sheffield United at the weekend and to get positive results in some of the upcoming games. I think this squad is capable of stepping up when it really matters and the time to do that is now.
  13. Hoping we can nick something, but let's be honest, Saturday will probably define how our season ends.
  14. You have every right to your opinion, but at the end of the day I have no influence whatsoever in the outcome so this is more about a way of getting some kind of positive from a catastrophe. Now players who bet against their own team, whilst also having an influence in the outcome, that to me is a disgrace...
  15. I put a tenner on at 100-1 and have no problem admitting it. I have absolutely no guilt about it and I throughly hope I never see the winnings. BUT, if we do capitulate and go down then that will pay for an almighty piss-up to help me forget what just happened.
  16. I'd like to think that Brighton's defeat at West Boom today is the precise reason why we don't need to be looking at the bottom of the table with too much concern.
  17. I guess the real unknown here is exactly what impact Covid has had on things. It's obviously been an issue for all clubs, but I guess some have been able to deal with it better than others.
  18. The whole Puel 08th placed finish thing always irritates me. Yes, we finished 8th, but I believe we secured 17 (seventeen) less points than Koeman the previous season. Combined with the terrible goalscoring record towards the end of that campaign, I still maintain that giving him the boot was the right thing to do. How he got the Leicester job I'll never know, but that didn't really work out either did it?
  19. Put a tenner on at 100-1 yesterday, I hope I never see the cash but like you I will make appropriate use of it if the worst happens.
  20. We're still as far out as 100-1 to get relegated. That appears to suggest we will be fine, but can't help thinking that a Fulham win at Palace followed by the inevitable defeat for us at Everton and all of a sudden there's just 5 points in it plus positive goal difference for Fulham. You'd have to question what that might do to the fragile mindset that appears to exist within our club at this time. The Sheffield United game is looking utterly crucial now.
  21. We are shite, no doubt now but surely we can muster 2 or 3 wins from our fixtures. I’m just depressed we’re even talking about it given where we were.
  22. Totally agree, but merely pointing out that my opinion on Van Dijk was largely formed after just one game. Sometimes you just see a player and instantly know there’s something there. I really hope the lad realises the clear potential he has.
  23. The thing I like about him (from what I've seen) is that he has the brilliant attribute where he can take a poor touch, but then effortlessly make up for it with a turn of pace, or by bullying anyone near him off the ball. It's that Rolls Royce analogy, where he appears to be able to get through most of a game in middle gear but step it up when needed. I saw it with Van Dijk in first game against West Brom, so there are definitely similarities there. So in summary, bags of potential and I feel this guy can be whatever he wants to be in the game.
