  3. Fa cup winners 1-3 down to Derby, in the championship!
  4. Chelsea getting all the free kicks!
  5. Clear free kick for Saints not given.... Hmm
  6. Down to 3rd!
  7. Lambert will, or wanyama for giving the ball away. I think we can win this!
  8. Seems like the bbc is stuck on 12 minutes.
  9. All the leagues are a little dull at the moment. I have a both teams to score bet on..... I need goals.
  10. Cracking so far!
  11. Oh yes and the only teams to win the FA Cup out of the top 6 since the mid 80's Coventry Wimbeldon Skates Wigan Look were they are now! The most recent, yes a huge success, but Wigan went down and are struggling in the Championship, because of europe. Well and the skates ha ha ha! I really do think we are looking at more long term, than just grabbing a throphy at all costs for one off success in the league cup. There is a lot more thought behind the club and the long term is to challenge at the top get into the champions league and then have the squad to challenge on ALL fronts. We are not there yet and yes it sounds a little bit strange being a Saints fan, but this is what the club are aiming for. How would you feel if we put everything into winning the league cup and FA Cup, got knocked out of both in the semi's picked up injuries and missed out on the top 4 or 6 for a european place by a point because we did not have a 100% fit squad? reach europe and the club has the chance of moving on to the next level, get into the top 4 and the club will change for the good forever. We need to just sit back and wait for that time. You win the FA Cup or League cup and then you could be mid table next season. Get into the top 4 and you have a great chance of sustaining success! Get used to it, and enjoy it. Look were these are now
  12. Fantastic read and it is great that we are getting so much attention for the good we are trying to do at the club. I am very proud to be a Southampton FC fan again. For a while I hated the set up of a club that was rotten to the core. Everyone seems to want to be at the club, as they are respected and looked after. There is such a togetherness at the club, which can only be good for on the field. I think it is possible to finish in the top 6, but do not think the champions league will happen. I can see the reason for putting out a second string in the league cup as we cannot play the pressing game every game with our first team. Just think how much that must take out of the players. It is just not possible, but we are doing everything to keep the players 100% so that has got to help. The top 4 clubs put out a second string in the league cup, but their second strings are just much better than ours as we do not have the depth of squad. I would prefer to be winning in the premier league and trying to end in the top 6 than winning the league cup and coming 10th. I think if we keep progressing and end in the top 6, we will be able to strenthen our squad and keep improving. Then maybe we will be in a position to challenge on all front. We are not quite there, but we are on the fringes of the top 6 and then top 4. If we do break into the top 4, then we really have made it, and we can push on and get the players needed to win trophies and have consistant top 4 finishes and even challenge for the top spot. I cannot see any reason why we cannot continue improving and with a bit of luck along the way who knows what the future holds. I for one am loving the positivity coming out of the club and the fans that I speak to at games and even fans of other clubs (even if not the small majority of fans on this site). Enjoy it everyone, as I have said before, if you cannot enjoy being a Saints fan now..... you never will. Long may it continue COYR!!!
  13. Ozzie is a class player, you can see it. He will come good. I also know a lot of Liverpool fans who are gutted that they did not get gaston and they would still take him now. They cannot understand why he is not given a run in the team.
  14. Everyone loves us!
  15. I think over the season we have the best chance we have had for years of finishing in the top 6. I do not think we can break the top 5 (which I think will be Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool)as yet, not with our fast tempo pressing game. It has to take a lot out of the players and I think we are 2/3 players short of challenging this. I also think we will drop a little over the next few games, but then pick up again. I also do not see any reason why we cannot put in a challenge for the 6th spot with Spurs and Everton. It will be tough yes, but it is very possible and even more so with a couple more signings in January.
  16. That's amazing!
  17. Reminds me of the Man U away game. We will nick a draw.
  18. Perhaps he should open it up to Twitter?
  19. Sod this, Hoddle was an excellent manager for us. No matter what you say about him. Was it not 6 clean sheets in a row or something? No matter who the teams we are playing, I do not think we have managed a run like that in any league, let alone in the top flight. Now we have surpassed what he achieved though. Most Saints fans are bitter that he walked out, but I wanted him back for the second coming. He has been out of management far to long now to return, he would be a huge punt for someone. Saying this one of my all time favourite games was beating Spurs at the lane and pretty much sealing his fate, for the sack! Good times with him in charge and against him with karma!
  20. Classic.... Same people!
  21. Correct me if I am wrong, but we have won at Anfield and drawn at old Trafford? We will get 11 points between now and Christmas.
  22. You see this is my thinking and it is taking one game at a time. I would love to hit the sumit, just the once! How would that feel, even if it was just for one week, after 12 games of the season! I cannot help but think, we should have done much better against West Ham and Sunderland at home, and even Stoke and Norwich away. We could have been top now. I for one am enjoying the moment as the likelihood is that we will be moving down the table, but top 7 is defiantly possible.
  23. I really hope we beat everyone!
  24. Would love to go a step further than WBA did yesterday and end the home record for the special one! Would prefer it to be Chelsea next then Arsenal as Chelsea are off the boil at the moment. I think we will be squeezed out of it by Arsenal but we will beat Chelsea.
