I was watching some of the TDF yesterday and I thought..... sod that, they are mad! Saying that I then watched a program after on Eurosport Mountain Bike world championships, now that looked fun and a little more up my street. I have a mountain bike so may start going off road after the cycle in September, but not before as I will probably fall off! I will then get a road bike, and have my mountain bike for off road!

Hey BlakeySFC, Thanks for your donation today, really do apprichaite all the support on here, if it is advice or a donation, it all helps to meet our goals, for the cycle ride and for our personal diets. Stuck on 13 stone 13 at the moment, but was 15 stone 13 on May 28th! Less than 2 months ago, and of course it is going to get harder to shift as the cycling gets easier! We have 59 days until the ride and we have raised 37.4% of the £500 needed. So if you can give, then please do. I will not ask anything more from you guys than to meet the target we need. £313.00 to go. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true

I think we will be closer to 17th than 2nd this season, but think we will be 10th-12th. We could surprise people.......
-
I will opt for troll, but he will come out with the spill that he is just being realistic to what he has seen at the club so far. You do have to remember that he predicted 17th last season. I do not think anyone settles for a yoyo club. It may well happen to teams, but they do not set out to do so. They live/run within their means. Some clubs this will be yoyo, but there it is NO sure thing that you will come back up that easy. I do not think NC will settle for anything less than Premier League, but he will not break the bank either, so steady does it, and improve year on year. Aim this season to stay in the league, but I think he has big plans for our club.

Makes me laugh though as they get a huge list of products that they cannot have, and if they take anything with said substance in, they get thrown out. But when you see failed doping/drugs test, you think performance related drugs. 9/10 this is not the case. Probably took a cold tablet or something to help him sleep.m Stupid, but should have checked with his team.

Still nice nail varnish!

I love Saints! -
WOW that is pretty impressive! How you feeling, and what sort of bike you got?

Cheers BlakeySFC... every penny helps in what is a great cause. Our training has come of the tracks a little, but it all depends on childcare in the week and on the Sunday how long we can do.

So happy about this, as it saves me a journey..... for a league game!

Just a reminder of why we are doing this training and the London to Brighton ride. The charity http://www.childhoodfirst.org.uk/ Here is our blog to how things are going. http://simcycling.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-min=2012-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2013-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=14 Please give as much or as little as you can, as it really does keep us motivated to see us getting closer to our £500 target. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true

Today we did a 27 mile ride, which is the longest so far on our training. For once the rain was not tripping at down! Good route and it would be even better if the app would email me the link so I could put the routes on here.
-
Yes I would like to think so.
-
Yes that is serious mileage, a road bike is the way to go without a doubt! I am looking to do the odd charity ride but only around 50 miles a day, and more family cycling, and off road, so the mountain bike is good for me ATM.
-
I have a standard mountain bike. When we bought the bikes it was for family cycling while on holiday, but then I was emailed about London to Brighton and now it has snowballed and me and the wife love it. Also when I used to cycle it was off road, in woodlands and farmland paths. So the mountain bike made sense. I think mountain bikes are easier on the back, and give you more comfort, but less speed. There is a lot of grip on the wider tyre of the mountain bike, comfortable seats and suspension, better for coming down rough grounds of 'mountains'. The road bike has a slick tyre, not suspension and harsher seats, but designed for speed. Really depends what you want to achieve with the bike. I want my mountain bike and a road bike in the future. My bike cost £480.

Sandwich, I know I saw that as well. Do not think I am ready for that kind of hike just yet! Really does keep us motivated to see the fund money going up, so a little amount would be great. I do have to say that the weather for the training at the moment has been terrible, rain and wind. I think we have only had 3 cycles out of 25 that have been in the sun!!! English summer. I know that we might have to cycle in the rain so does not harm, but what if it is sunny, we need this training as well, as we have had enough rain and wind training!! Weight now at 14 stone 1, and was at the end of May when the training started 15 stone 13. Feeling really good

Only 2 months now. Please give as much or as little as you can. Cheers Kev http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true

Just to bump this up, if you can give please do. Went out this evening in the pouring rain and it was hard going because of the rain, but 15 miles we managed, and felt good. If the sun was out would have been much easier. Not long now until September 16th, and have a 30 mile ride on Sunday.

Yes wind up,mwhen I questioned this today, he did not know what I was on about, mand then said it rhymes with Bowen carleaves, but I think he means sounds like. No way the club would sign him, as mentioned he does not fit the Southampton set up! All ball! -

I do not think this statagey will work, as they will have to pay through the nose, and it is not a team for the future. Not the right way IMO -

Still have no idea who we are going to sign, but am excited to find out. I am sure we will keep with the club trend of buying players that fit in with the rest of the squad. Some of the names I have heard are complete tosh, as there is no way we will sign billy big balls on a lot of money, as this will upset the apple cart. -
It was wet today, but a great route around Cambridge....l but boy it was very very very wet. Got my first cycling medal though, next London to Brighton.
