  1. Sorry, you've lost me. How is ditching red & white stripes and wearing red shorts "taking it to the next level"? Presumably you think Hugh Grant wearing a false moustache is 'method acting' too?
  2. Thoughts from Saints and other fans. Mainly negative obviously. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/12/13-kits/southampton-2012-2013-umbro-home-a-away-football-shirts.html
  3. Please explain, you've lost me.
  4. Well said. Win, lose, draw. Going up, going down. In traditional kits. Always as Saints.
  5. No, of course not...
  6. Yeah, last season in red & white stripes was just f*ckin awful. As was 76. 79. 2003.
  7. Odd that people think dislike of the kit is somehow linked to the team, our performance etc. Two totally different issues. I'll get excited when we sign players, will go nuts when we score/win, but I can guarantee you that at very single game at home I will think. "Christ that kit is ****".
  8. Agreed. Boring, bland, un-memorable (except for us - for all the wrong reasons!). Especially disappointing given the last two Umbro kits which were great. Umbro and the club have really lost their way here.
  9. Agreed. I rest my case.
  10. No, I think I've seen enough to make my mind up - the pics dom't look that ambiguous to me. To be honest it's not that it's a horrific design - more it's blandness, and generic Sunday league look that offends me most, and I've never liked red shorts with red "striped" shirts - again, just looks very 'Sunday League'. Just doesn't say 'Saints' to me. And you are right, that was a classic kit - FOR Liverpool! I'd be more than happy with an attractive update of our RX kit or the 78/9 'candy stripes'. All for a bit of retro. Just hate bad design, and this is bad design IMHO. PS I think he away kit works fine, in fact I like it.
  11. I'd imagine the demographic of this forum is representative of the Saints fan base - ie the bell-curve you would expect. The thoughts of those on here are shown in the poll at the top. Now go get your nan some Alpine, sorry, Alpen...
  12. That you rate it "brilliant" tells us everything we need to know about you...
  13. Dear oh dear...
  14. Erm, that's because the sash kit was ALL about (our) history & tradition... The other bleeding obvious point is that both the sash & RX kits were aesthetically pleasing. This is a generic, banal and rather unpleasing piece of footy fashion!
  15. Agree totally FF. it's the sort of 'generic' kit I see on teams on a Sunday on Clapham Common. I had prepared myself for something awful, but truly hadn't anticipated something as bland and unimaginative as this. After two classic kits they had to screw up sometime, but this is just beyond the pail. Our identity wiped out in one go. Ironically, I like the away kit. In fact I'd stomach the away kit as our home kit more than that awful cheap looking thing we have. Straight to #1 as the worst kit in our history I'd say.
  16. F*cking horrible. Worse than I ever imagined. Non-descript, neutral, bleurgh...looks like Andover reserves. What a shame that we re-enter the Premier League in a kit that says nothing about the proud tradition of Southampton FC.
  17. If I have to explain it to you, there's little point in doing so...
  18. I was being ironic you dim-wits...
  19. It's ridiculous. Pompey fans are aciting like 'fag hags' at a huge gay disco. Or something. Can't stand Rangers myself anyway, but they are at least a huge club, with a global brand / fan base - unlike the skint L1 minnows who no one outside of the PO postcode cares about. As I say, more in this for P*mpey than Rangers...
  20. Have you seen all this bowlocks on Twitter (and they now have a Facebook page too). Guess P*moey have more to gain from this unholiest of unholy alliances. Dirty skint blue... #CelticSaints
  21. Sign Butland and Green. We'll need three quality keepers for the Champions League etc season after next...
  22. No, but there should be in shouldn't...
  23. Signing their overrated goalie as 3rd choice? Forecast going there?
