First of all, absolutely cracking result yesterday and hugely noticeable improvement in the team under MoPo, no doubt in that fact! However, what level of manager do we/cortese think we have? Is he now the long term, and the man deemed the one to fulfill the 5year champions league plan, or like NA is he the man to get us to the next step (be that consistent top 10/Europa) before being replaced by a new, even higher caliber manager? NC has proved he is progressive with his appointments, he recognized NA as the man to get us to the prem, but not the man to kick on from there. Maybe there is a similar plan for MoPo? None the less I am massively enjoying the ride and ambition being demonstrated by the club, long may it continue!

Dam I actually believed it! If he does indeed have a NZ grandfather it wouldn't be the stupidest shout though would it..... -
As I said, just passing on information. JWP wasn't playing that much in Nigel's final months, maybe that had something to do with it. However now I'm speculating which I don't want to do. I was as surprised as u though, but there's no doubting that NA was a bit if an odd ball, remember that poem in his post match interview?

**CONTROVERSIAL POST ** I was chatting to JWP brother last night and supposedly our Nigel wasn't that well liked by the players (to an extent that they watched him on the reading news conference in the canteen and there was many a mention of c**n). His man management was supposedly poor, he was often condescending and rude, and in a lot of ways a slightly odd individual. Now this massively surprised me but could give alot more credibility to why he got sacked, why the chairman didn't seem to like him, and why all the players looked so happy in the training shoots the day after his sacking. This isn't trolling, just thought I'd share sons genuine behind the scenes info, take as you will.

If you read the article he has barely played anyway and isnt in the managers plans (as a first team regular anyway). I think his absence makes no difference and Norwich are exactly the same threat as they would have been!

How much would Hooper cost? Celtic now seem to be admitting that they will have to sell some of their start to allow their careers to progress. In purely financial terms (were a business right) 6m for a 31 is very good money. If we could get Hooper in, young player but (I think) with a similar sort of style, CL experience etc I would take it.

I too find it amusing. Would rather a cheeky trip than him standing up and chinning someone Rooney style!

Ive read good things recently about Oualidia (Morocco). Easy Jet fly there, its a relatively short flight (less than Canary's). Known as Morocco's answer to St Tropez: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/africaandindianocean/morocco/6306987/Oualidia-Moroccos-answer-to-St-Tropez.html

This is actually quite an interesting concept. Its not inconceivable to think that in the (not to distant future) a splinter league of human vs computer controlled (ala fifa) football players. This would start small, a yearly/bi yearly competition sponcered by EA Sports where all there sponcer players take on a number of Fifa fans who won a competition. However the popularity of this will grow until demand for a full league is generated. You think it sounds silly. Who wouldn't want to try their best in the world Fifa skills against a best in the world real footballer/team? (Then eventually the computer controlled footballers will go all AI on our asses and stage a mass take over of each stadium, and thus each city in the country thus starting the Robots take over the world scenario).

I'm defo a 4) I fully expect no one to notice this.......

Would you take a point from tomorrow if offered today?

If we want to stay up we need to beat the teams below and around us, simple as that really. So essentially no, I would be disappointing with a draw at home against a lower side. -
Was chatting to a Pompey fan in the pub yesterday (purely by accident, had a shower after) and he also had a massive hatred for him. I dont think you could say its his spiritual home anymore!

Interesting thing about quite a few players is that they have to leave and go up/down the leagues before getting their break. In our team Morgan, Adam for example have been up with us through L1 to CCC to Premiership. Had we never got relegated would we see them in the team now as regulars or would it have taken them longer to break through. The same Walcott, OC and Dyer became regular starters for us in the lower leagues. Again had we not been down there would they have got the same game time and been spotted, maybe not? I suspect there will be plenty examples of 'why did we let them go' when in 5 times their lighting up the Prem or foreign leagues elsewhere. Same with all football clubs, but will still give future SWers the standard 'the one that got away' thread.

So would people take a deal similar to the Wayne Bridge deal. I.e. sell him for a decent amount and then give us one of their like for like players and pay most of the wage. I guess Cole would be the obvious based on age, but whether he would actually come here is a complete different matter.

Yeah I remember last time it was pretty filthy! I worked a charity day one of the weekends in a slum school in the backstreets of Bangalore, that was certainly an eye opener! What I found annoying was things like I player/4od didn't work, but that was about 2years ago
-
Lol, I will be going to Bangalore to lead a test phase for tesco, I have been once before but only for three weeks. Quite looking forward to it but will be a big lifestyle change! Think I'm most worried about cabin fever and missing western lifestyle (not meaning to sound at all racist)

So I may have to move to India for 6 months with work. All a bit daunting, does anyone have any advise on become an expat, dealing with boredom, missing home comforts etc? Do most countries tend to have an expat community and do they just meet up somewhere, and u pop along and talk to people? Bit of a random thread I know but any general advise would be much appreciated!

So on the OS his role is shown as: International Football Development Manager: Radhi Jaidi However what does this actually entail? I understood that he was forging links in African countries. Does this mean: - Setting up football academies - Increasing awareness of Southampton football club - Identifying talent (although he isn't defined in the scout area of the staff profiles) I would be interested to hear an end of term report on the progress he is making/what initiatives have been set up.

The Mule Jason Euell! Was continuously slated, but then I remember him going on a scoring run towards the end of one of our CCC seasons.

How about the opposite to sit down Pinocchio : Stand up Pochettino, Stand up Pochettino.... or We've got Pochettino, We've got Pochettino. The simpler the better (imo)

Was it the 1-0 against Man U where Beattie scored in the last few mins. I remember going mental after that!
