Call me a traditionalist, but having away fans behind a goal is part of football. I think it’s terrible that away fans get shoved around other parts with Newcastle being the worst. As we’ve seen this season with many home wins, the away fans behind the goal means nothing. The whole thing seems to have already been agreed by just a handful of dreamy fans with no consideration to many long term season ticket holders. A day out at football is being ruined with way too much needless garbage, like a naff light show pre game. The tiresome brass band and their death march. Fans go to watch a football match and if you want to see anything else go to Disney land oh btw fans went to the northam end on stadium opening to be next to the away fans.

I know others the same as you and they’re not happy with what’s being planned. They don’t believe that moving away fans will achieve what they think and the hassle to long term season ticket holders isn’t welcome.

There is nothing wrong with the away fans in their current location, it works perfectly and they can be contained when needed in the car park or britannia road. I think moving them to the opposite side is nuts and has the potential for far more 'home fan / away fan' confrontation.

No, we dont want to call the northam stand the 'Markus' stand, the family were happy with the pavillion training ground. Its great we dont have named stands and argue who to put it on them, leave it like current, clean and simple.

The best move the club can make and show long term commitment is add a new 5,000 tier to the northam stand. You can then squeeze away fans into corner block upper and lower. But ground expansion isnt just about away fans. The club needs to act NOW on this because if flats are built alongside, I wonder if northam expansion would be allowed. If Mr Parsons wants to make a name for himself, then this would be the road to take.

I think fan safety is being reduced and i dont agree that 'away fans being louder helps their team' as that's all down to whats happening on the pitch and can change every single game. We have seen over recent months that winning games means there is more home noise and away fans arent that vocal even with 3000 present.

Nothing wrong with the present arrangement, its become a tiresome subject that isnt going to create, what the very small minority of fans are expecting. If i was the council licence officer, i would want to see a significant study taking place with all season ticket holders inside stmarys on what direction they mostly arrive and depart st marys.
