According to the Mail, James is off to Spurs, Distin is wanted by Villa and your boss Hart has likened Pompey to Fawlty Towers.... You couldn't make it up...

Why should it matter if it were agreeble to me? This is a forum, in forum there is debate. You are entitled to your opinion and put it across well. What's the point? 19C is engaged in a witch hunt, his comments about Le Tissier are fuelled by some bizarre agenda against someone he now views as being anti Lowe. He joins the likes of Leon Crouch and Lawrie McMenemy as ticks on his hit list. Le Tissier is an enigma, capable of laziness yes, but also capable of moments of absolute genius. A liability and must have all rolled up into one. A player born in the wrong era. A man in the right place at the right time in the wrong era. I think you're wrong to place him in the second tier of sporting greats. View any Sky/BBC/ITV greatest Premiership Players programmes and I'd guarantee he'd be on it. Greatest goals and it's a nailed on cert. The man was world class and as far as I'm concerned that's not up for debate. He's a footballer, not business analysist or accountant. He simply wanted to do the right thing for the club he loves and came up short. He was lied to, simple as that. It doesn't merit the witchunt that freakboy has instigated on here. This is a Le Tissier tribute thread, it deserves to be treated like that...

Poor judgement yes, but deserving of 19c's of witch hunt? Not in a million years. The current situation at Pompey shows you just how easy it is bamboozle people and make it appear you have something you may well haven't. Matt got taken in, Crouch did with Wilde, Souness did with Ali Dia... Sh1t happens...
-
The forum oddball? That's actually quite complimentary....
-
I wouldn't hold your breath mate, he's a coward who only possesses testicles when sat behind a computer screen....
-
And what pray tell, are my "special circumstances"? Sorry but Duncan's wrong for asking why Matt didn't delve deeper into Pinnacle. None of us did, we were just concerned to get someone, anyone, to save the club. It was that dire. So he didn't look deep enough? What is he? Some sort of forensic accountant? With your reply, if that's the case please tell me why you alledgely support Saints? They won't win anything but according to you "international honours and club medals" are what it's all about. Why should any of us bother supporting Saints? I follow Saints are they're my home town team and I'll follow them no matter what, I don't go to watch them pursue trophies, I'll leave that to the plastic post Euro 96 newbies and their Sky Sports subscriptions. I'll not trade my club for one that might win trophies. Matt did the same, he loved Saints and saw no reason to leave somewhere where he was happy. He's just like all of us... Where does Lowe fit into any of this? He criticised Lowe and that's the real reason you're on Matt's case, nothing to do with percieved lack of analysis on Pinnacles bid, just a cheap excuse to have a go at yet another Lowe critic. Just file it under Crouch and McMenemy... Poor reposte, poorly thought out with no real direction... No change there then...

Unbelievable... No, not the video, some people's attitude. If Matt hadn't have criticised Lowe does anyone seriously think old multiple personality boy here would be so hard on him? Are we seriously taking a thread that was meant to be a tribute to Matt and end up with someone criticising the fact that he stayed with us? Showed no ambition? Are we mad? At the end of the day this club faced complete ruin. Like it or not, the combined inadequecies of the board had sent us hurtling to League One and made us a financial ruin. It was at our darkest hour that the man who made being a Saints fan bearable came to our aid. He wasn't to know the people who had promised him so much were liars and charlatans, he didn't know Leibherr was in the wings and would prove to be a better choice... not he just tried to help. You can imagine if he didnt then the likes of Sumdunce would be be criticising them for taking a wage and deserting the club at it's hour of need. The fact that an ex player loved this club so much he'd come back to try and save it is surely virtually unheard of in modern top flight football? I can only think of Niall Quin. We're surely used to people on this messageboard who will slag anyone off who differs from their agenda but surely none of ever thought we'd see someone of Le Tissier's stature slagged off because he dared to criticise Lowe? So Pinnacle turned out to be a farce, so what? Unless anyone wants to go in print and accuse Le Tissier of some kind of inpropriety then the only thing he's guilty of is being lied to. It's quite stunning that people on here can still back Lowe and in turn criticise someone like Le Tissier. A chairman who presided over two relegations against possibly the greatest player to ever wear a Saints shirt? Bit of a no brainer surely? There are times this messageboard almost makes me ashamed to be a Saints fan. Slagging off a true Saints legend because he headed up a failed takeover bid and slagged off Rupert Lowe? That's one of them...

Every need. Your constant sniping is in very poor taste, to say he wasted his talent is the one of the most ludicrous things posted on the SWF. To constantly snipe about his role in the Pinnacle fiasco is in equally poor taste. The man was lied to. End of. To hold that against him is completely unreasonable. It would seem there's no depth you won't sink to attract attention. It's all rather sad and desperately needy. It's a real shame that Delldays's thread is being used by people who still have an agenda and still are looking for attention. What part of exchanging stories, links and ancedotes about Le Tiss did you not understand? For what it's worth the man is famous across the world, not because he played for Chelsea or Man Utd but because his goals were were spectacular and he single handedly kept Southampton in the premiership. Ask people abroad what do they know of Southampton, will they say Ocean Liners? Titanic? No, they will say Matthew Le Tissier. The man turned down a fortune to stay a club where he felt happy. To criticise him for that is just plain ridiculous. The man is an absolute legend on and off the pitch. I interviewed him about six times for Beautiful South and each time the man was great company and devoid of any, any, arrogance or attitude. To write him off because he didnt play for a "big club" and had the misfortune of having some of the worst England managers in recent history denying him the interantional career he so richly deserved, is a nonsensical debate. In meantime Numpteen please carry on this ridiculous Pinnacle agenda you have. More and more, far more reasonable posters than me are now seeing you for the attention seeker you so obviously are...
-
Interesting to see Nineteen Canteen has nothing to say on this particular thread. Le Tiss is, quite frankly, untouchable both on and off the pitch....
-
(lol)

Just a question aimed at the blue few on here... The Sun's new advert shows 'Arry Redknapp saying he's looking forward to going back to Portsmouth. How do you feel about that? If it was Saints I'd be spitting blood....
-
Spot on... And Lambert scoring again is a definite plus....
-
Just thought I'd change that... It does make a small difference...
-
But how many people would appoint someone who was Completely unaware of the level of the league? If your boss employed someone who had no idea of what his job entailled would you blame the new employee or the boss who hired him? The interview finally states, in print, that Lowe interfered with the football side of things, something that has been rumoured on here for ages and written off as paranoid rubbish from Lowe obessees... Sadly it appears to have been right all along...

No YOU'VE got to be joking.. all that link proves is that for 40 odd years you had a bigger stadium, sorry, ground than ours. Big deal! it's how full the ground was counts. You had a bigger ground but how often was it full? The Dell was, Fratton wasn't, a fact you seem to have not just glossed over but completely ignored.. I love the way you've completely sidestepped every point. The truth is, and you avoided this like the plague, that those figures showed average attendances so for the years shown your average attendance was, at best half full and on numerous occasions TWO THIRDS EMPTY.. And that is a fact... lol Any comment on that? No, didn't think so....
-
I'm not saying you are but you know how this sort of debate can mutate and become deeply unpleasant... I'll get in contact with one of them and see what's what....
-
lol Indeed it is....
-
if you think his post was somehow searching for the truth or putting a point of view across that is differing from my mine then you're dimmer than I thought... "what a pointless thread. A vehicle 4 the usual windbags to revel in the misfortune of others to avoid accepting the shortcomings of our recent history. I have no love at all for Pompey but our own existence would be all the poorer without the motivation to do better with them down the road and the desire to return to the old status quo . Perhaps we should at least recognise that their takeover bid has not been endorsed by one of their playing legends. Once again Daren and Wes are in the glass house being predictable."" Quite how that isn't confrontational is beyond me.... As for the publishing of records, I have an awful feeling the whole event might have lost money rather than raise it. I agree the records need to be shown but let's not get a witch hunt going. The event was organised by good people with the most honest of intentions...
-
True, but some of us hardly ever visit the other boards so it does serve some purpose..
-
Any chance we can get back to the topic? Our Position Or Pompey's? The next two years.... Discuss...
-
Oh I'm sorry, that was personality number 4 that had a go at me. Personality number 5 hasn't, has he/she? But please carry on with the "Sword of truth cleaving through the mass of injustice and lies" act. You're just a sad, pathetic, attention seeking freak... The more you post, the more ridiculous you look...
-
"100% Saints discussion. Please keep it on-topic and civil. Abusive behaviour is not welcomed." I think you'll find that the post that started all this rubbish didn;t exactly fit that criteria did it? I'm not defending my behaviour but ask yourself, if 19C hadn't posted that confrontational piece of crap would we be having this conversation?
-
Actually reads the posts. Where have I aked foryou to be banned Einstein? Fair comment? Oh pur lease, cut the drama queen act, this thread was simply created to ask one simple question. What postion would you rather be in? League One, finacially stable, looking upwards or Premiership, in meltdown looking over your shoulder? The only one who's droning on about Pompey's demise is you... At no stage have I or any of the other people you've been abusing, said one thing about Pompey going out of buisness. It's all in your mind....
-
Perhaps you could take your own advice then... What is it about 19c that makes moderators almost frightened to tell him or make public statements telling him to wind his neck in? He's made libelous comments about Mike Osman and his family, libelous comments about McMenemy, made unpleasant comments about me using my mothers cancer to score points against the club and the moderators say nothing publicly. He's wrecked this thread with the usual bile, you say nothing. I make one stupid drunken post on another and you're on it like a flash. And you wonder why I get annoyed... jeez....
-
The thread I started "Our Position or Pompey's " which 19c hijacked, posted the following: "what a pointless thread. Once again Daren and Wes are in the glass house being predictable." Now if you're going to, quite rightly, chastise me for diluting the debate here with a personal swipe at 19c what say you over the above post? By all means have a go at me but play it fair. If Numpteen Canteen had kept his mouth shut and not started on me on that thread then I would have continued ignoring him...
