An Fa Cup final. One of only two in the last, what 60/70 years? At what stage would you allocate the accolade legend? What a sad little man to deny Strachan the title of legend? Name me, bar McMenemy and Bates, one manager worthy of legend status? Now as for your cutting edge view of Scottish football, apparently UEFA's a piece of p1ss. So Liverpool have to win it, anything less than UEFA victory will be a stunning piece of footballing fu-ckupery. Gordon Strachan took us to Europe, an FA cup final, our highest ever Premier league finish and, at the time he announced his desire to retire, we were fourth in the league. Pretty stunning for a club like Southampton. Now according to you that's not worthy of legend status. What would he have to do to gain such an accolade? Win the league? The FA Cup? According to you Alan Pardew is more worthy of that getting that accolade. Now, I have no problem with that but when you compare budgets and set ups I honestly believe that Pardew has the easier job. He has a more stable, financially supportive club than Strachan. If he gets promotion this season it will a phenomenal achievement but when you have a billionaire backing you then your chances of success do increase somewhat... Regardless of which, how utterly pathetic it is that certain people feel the need to put down certain personalities/managers/players for no other reason that fluff their own online egos. Lawrie McMenemy, Matt LeTissier and now Gordon Strachan, all targets of some sad, pathetic, low life loner with nothing better to do than strike out at people who have given so much joy to so many people. I have people who I view as legends. They're not perfect, they have flaws but their ability to rise above those flaws make them the sort of people that we used to admire. Such a shame that people these days can turn on their heroes so quickly and so easily. Quite how someone like Gordon Strachan can now be slagged off for no other reason than he's having a sticky patch at a club he's been in charge of for 10 games, a club with so called pros all pulling in different directions and a month off his first transfer window. Is this how we deal with our heroes? Slag them off at the first opportunity for no other reason than to polish our own fragile online ego? It's pathetic. Shallow and pathetic...

Lol Don't try and cover up yet another snipe at LeTissier by droning on the betting scandal yet again. Yes he panicked and ****ed up his huge betting scandal. He scored 48 out of 49 penalties. He single handedly kept a small club in the Premiership. That's pressure. Gareth Southgate and Stuart Pearce actually made a career out of missing penalties, anyone remember those Pizza Hut ads? Now according to you the fact he panicked is sure fire sign he hasn't the temperament to to train people how to take penalties under pressure. Surely the most retarded argument I've heard on here. His business is football not gambling and the fact that he panicked hardly brings his footballing credentials into question does it? You can't have it both ways, you can't slag him off for being a big bad gambler and then ignore the fact he panicked at his first attempt and never did it again. Either he's a bad gambling man or he's not. You can't slag him off for everything. You may have fooled some people on here but you don't fool me. All of this "I'm just asking questions that Daren's afraid to ask" cr@p is just that... cr@p. It's just you unleashing whatever bile you can at whoever you can. Is your life that sad and pathetic that you feel the need to endlessly vent your spleen on here? I think it is... Let's have a look at some of your targets recently, Matt LeTissier, Lawrie McMenemy and now Gordon Strachan. Three of the most important people at the Dell/St Marys over the last 20-30 years. Anyone else you fancy putting down? Do they have to have the playing qualities of Pele and the ethics of the pope to get your approval? They're human, they err, they make mistakes. It's their ability to step outside of their weaknesses and achieve greatness that makes them inspirational. The fact that they have foibles, they have weaknesses, just makes them more like us. It's pathetic and I for one will always correct you when you insult/denigrate Saints legends for no other reason than you own life sucks and its easier to put down than praise. Matt Le Tissier made one mistake. He served this club with the utmost distinction and is one of the greatest players this club has/will ever have seen. You carry on trying to portray me as mentally weak for standing up for my heroes. I would rather be mentally weak and feeble rather than snide, disloyal and treacherous any day of the weak.. Oh, and whilst we're on the subject. Your point is pretty weak. The argument is would England benefit from having the Premier League's most prolific penalty taker give them a few hints and tips. The answer is yes. It certainly wouldn't hurt and as we have no one in the England set up it can only be a good thing...

Are you a complete idiot? Le Tissier never experienced pressure??? He almost single handedly kept this club in the Premier league, does that not count as pressure???? Seriously admins, I'm all for free debate but this non stop LeTissier witchhunt is just so, so tiresome and annoying. At what point does freedom of speech impinge on common decency? Does anti LeTissier snipe number 152 add anything? Are we more likely to re-examine Matt's character after snipe 152 or snipe 74, 86 or 102? We get your point, we got it at snipe 32. Build a bridge and ferking well get over it... And back to the original point, anyone who can help us with our appalling penalty success rate at international level should be looked at. 48 out of 49 tells us he knows his onions. I can see us not taking Matt up on his offer and then going out on penalties again...

I set no mark, you are a no mark... I'm not blind or blinkered. Nor am I prejudiced. I have no agenda other than watching the club I love. No wonder you and I are like chalk and cheese. I support Southampton, you support your desperate need for attention. Still, it interesting to see another target for your "rapier" like "wit" other than Lawrie Mac / Leon Crouch / Matt LeTissier... Perhaps you'd care to offer evidence to back your claims up? Strachan isn't a good manager.... please elaborate or shut up..
-
And you're not a Saints fan... what's your point?
-
It'll take time but if there was one manager to get a team working hard it will be Strach. The impression of Middlesborough is a typical relegated, big time charlie club. Full of players that don't want to be there, all pulling in different directions. Give Strach a transfer window to get some of his own type of players in and then see what happens. Good to see Saints aren't the only club that give managers ten games to save the world..

I like the idea of building on the youth and developing the best youth academy in the south coast and attracting people to the club because of a superior set up.. It's laughable that as a League One club we have a better set up on every level than Portsmouth... Utterly laughable...
-
Actually that makes quite stunning reading... Despite a sticky, awkward start we've registered 20 goals in the last 7 away games. Now that is absolutely amazing, for any league..
-
Dammit mate, TELL ME! No more clues!!!!!! lol
-
Why is there a thread about Lowe? Get over it. The fates of Saints and Pompey are intrinsically linked, the rivalry between us makes us different to all of these plastic cubs with plastic rivalries. For what it's worth I don't believe for a second that Pompey will go out of business.... But I do believe, that because of their Premiership status, they are being given slack we never got...
-
And that is precisely the way I view it too.... club's copping a break purely and simply because of the league they compete in.
-
But the problem is the league actively helping them when the powers that be actively sought to not help us... This business with agent payments and now delayed wages, payments etc make me think the authorities are giving Pompey all the leeway they need...
-
Now that's my point... Will the authorities give them all the leeway in the world or be like they were with us and leap into action at the slightest excuse. Look at Chelsea and how they're looking forward to the transfer window. It is literally one rule for one, one for another... If Pompey were a Championship club this would all be different...
-
True, but I think we're missing a point here. Whilst administration is one reason for a point penalty what about financial irregularities? Luton, unless I'm mistaken had a 10 point deduction turned into a 30 point one because of financial irregularities? To get to a state where you fail to pay your players twice in one season, what will it take before the FA/Premier League/Whatever take some sort of action be it points or cash or further embargoes? The answer is, as long as they're a Premiership club, nothing will happen...
-
Now considering the indecent haste in which the powers that be rushed to give us a ten point penalty, am I the only one wondering what a Premier league club has to do to incur any kind of points penalty? Question. As a League One/Former Championship club is it one rule for one, one for another? If we were a Premiership club last year would things have turned out differently?
-
The problem with this league is that.. a) the referees and linemen aren't that good and b) There are precious few tv replays of the minor calls. You can view just about any minute of a Premiership/Championship game. In League One a lot of the close calls are never replayed. I'd bet quite a few of the offsides flagged aren't actually offside.
-
Got to love their percentages... 50% Yes 49% No I guess the other 1 % doesn't care??
-
A bit ironic coming from 19c though... Seriously, is this numpty STILL going on about LeTissier? I bumped into a couple of mates who are now retired from the CID, both Saints fans and asked the about the whole "scam" and the cps. They both laughed at the mention the cps being involved in such a pathetic, ill thought out scam. "Mate, he ****ed up one of the dumbest betting scams I've ever heard of and then panicked and never did it again. Hardly makes him Ronnie Biggs doesn't it? Hardly worth the price of a stamp on the documentation mate..." Having 19c stamp all over the place about the "disgrace" just reminds a bit of Richard Briers in Ever Decreasing Circles, a small man looking for something to justify his existence. This whole LeTissier witch hunt is just pathetic. He was involved in footballs most stupid and briefest scam. He tried to save saints by fronting a failed takeover bid. Get over it you sad, sad, little man...
-
Haven't a clue, it's a bit of girls drink... Ask 19c, he knows...
-
Oh the irony.... 19c in unoriginal, unfunny, bandwagon jumping, hypocrisy shock... Have another Babysham and lie down...
-
I don't think an extra chapter about his Malibu drinking exploits will cover it for me... I think the CPS should definitely be on the case for this one. Any alcoholic beverage that has coconut in it needs police intervention...
-
He is SO a Babysham drinker.... It explains a lot...
-
I think he should be drinking Bacardi, at least he'd be supporting a local business... I can't believe the man who was such a sporting hero to me drinks Malibu... I feel so let down...
-
Oh for god's sake Phil... Now we'll have a Malibu and coke witch hunt... ffs...
