Oh, I think after watching the jocks versus Wales the last laugh is definitely not with them... Scottish football is a fecking shambles...

Mack Rill has wood already...

Just thought I'd highlight a few salient points. Please come back when you have some actual facts...

1) One attempt at a betting scam hardly qualifies him as a cheat. 2) No charges were brought so that puts paid to your theory of Matt being our version of Lee Hughes/Marlon King. When he's charged then you can mount your high horse. Your desire for proof (but not from Red tops or tabloids) is childish and pathetic. 3) You want him to explain himself and yet when it's mentioned that he'll add another chapter to his book to cover it you accuse him of profiteering!!? Unbelievable! Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. If he says nothing you accuse him of avoiding the subject, he says he'll write about it and publish it and you accuse him of touting for extra book sales... Absolutely pathetic... 4) And again, as Phil has alluded, if you want an answer then why not seek it yourself? If you fee that strongly why not write to the Echo asking those questions? Or better still attend one of the many charity do's Matt attends and ask him face to face. As it is there's something rather faceless and cowardly about sniping at the man from behind the safety of a computer screen. From what I know of Matt he'd have no problem answering your questions. As it stands Le Tissier is one of a handful players who genuinely merits legend status. Many of us may feel a tinge of regret over the betting scam but many of us refuse to criticise him over the Pinnacle mess mainly for the reason that he tried in the first place. Not many ex players are that dedicated to the club they love that go that much of an extra mile for it. It's easy with hindsight, and a new shiny rich Swiss owner, to forget that there was a time when things looked so very bleak for us and potential owners were thin on the ground. Matt got conned, we all got conned. The fact that he cared should speak volumes for the man, sadly with some, blinkered, agenda ridden people on here it doesn't.. How very sad... In the meantime a word from Matt himself: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8238563.stm And a proof from BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8269028.stm Such a shame that such a good natured thread has descended into predictable farce...

Weston and Jam, I think you miss the point. The very fact that he's been all over this thread like a rash just shows he doesn't need an invite. Look at it logically, your post is almost inviting him not to post, hinting, quite strongly, that Hypo and MOG expect you to post so don't and prove you're above it all. Unlucky. There does appear to be a some underlying issue here. Maybe Le Tiss ****ged his wife or something, but there has to some reason for this almost hysterical hatred 19c has for man. Yes, we know he's flawed, he's not perfect but 19c has made his point, what is gained by turning every Matt LeTissier thread into trash? Yes we all know Matt screwed up, aligning himself with the Pinnacle bid but the thing 19c seems to completely forget is.... at least Matt tried. When many of us on here were flapping around and expecting the worst he stepped up and tried to attract money. What did 19c do in our darkest hour? Posted a lot maybe but like a lot of us, did nothing. The betting thing is rather stupid and I'm sure Matt desperately regrets writing it but it's over and done with now surely. It was a one off and he screwed it up, it's not as if he was consistently cheating. It was a one off mistake. Get over it. How is 19c allowed to continue post on here? I'm for freedom of speech but what is to be gained by continually taking any thread about Le Tissier (or McMenemy or Crouch for that matter) and turning into a one sided witch hunt. Yes I'd rather Matt had shut up about the "betting scam" and I wish he'd go public about Pinnacle but those two issues are absolutely dwarfed by his contribution to club playing. The man was an absolute god on the pitch and an an absolute gent off it. Some of my most cherished memories of Southampton football club involve him, he singled handedly kept us in the Premiership and in doing so scored the most amazing goals I have ever seen. I'm not asking people to sweep under the carpet the two issues but I am asking people to show some respect to a genuine sporting icon. This is getting beyond a joke and the admin need to do something about it...

You could also ask yourself who is the greatest free kick taker? I'll always remember that freekick against Wimbledon at the Dell where he flicked the ball up and volleyed it in... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM5GOqzkMDU Quite staggering.... How lucky were we to have him?
-
To be fair, we've had four years of complete and utter sh1te... why shouldn't we enjoy our moment? We've had to put up with so much recently, now we're playing well, financially stable and on the up... if we can't be smug now when can we be? Do we have to be top and ten points clear before people are allowed to enjoy it?
-
So how have we done over the last 7 games?
-
Nah... more like Moss Bros...
-
God that 1-0 was an absolute nail biter as well! Early goal, chants of we want seven followed by some really resolute defending. With the 6-3 I always wondered how that result would been greeted around all the other grounds... "Southampton 6.... Manchester United....3 " It must have been amazing to hear how that result sounded. Liverpool and City must have loved us that day...

Thanks for that Will but the truth is as this thread has descended into farce I've probably done to Saint Lard what 19c has done to me and proabably upset him whilst flinging around insults around. Saint Lard for what it's worth I was so wrapped in my own petty argument that I never thought about the insults I was slinging around or the consequences. For that my sincerest apologies mate.

Does it now? Allow me to draw a line under this particular argument by telling you what my mother's reaction was. To me it far exceeds any faux indignation you post on here. When she read your "I hope his mother hasn't passed away" She asked, "What a horrible man, why would anyone say something like that? What does my condition have to do with him? It was bad enough what was being said before. He must be a very sick man." Her words, not mine. She views this board quite a bit. My mother is seriously ill and I take very seriously and very personally anyone who uses that to score points. Your constant ignoring of my real issues in regards to charities being the point at hand. How many times times have I stated my gripe was the fact that the club couldn't be bothered to reply that annoyed me; how many times have you droned on about "The club can't help everyone?" Completely ignoring that help and a polite refusal are two very different things. You show your very obvious lack of knowledge of the history of this club by completely forgetting Steve Mills and Austin Hayes. This club has a very real link to leukemia/cancer charities and for the club to just ignore a charity request, from anyone, for those particular charities without a even a polite, photo copied reply, just highlights how out of touch with the people the old regime was. I wonder if I emailled/phoned/sent a letter to Nicola Cortese, what my reply would be? I'd hazard a guess and say I might receive some sort of reply, even it it was a stock, photo copied reply. It's not asking much is it? And when you finally receive a letter from the club and it's a season ticket renewal form, it's pretty annoying. It say "We don't really care about charity but is there any chance you can pay for all your games at once?" It's even more galling when you consider how much the old regime would play the loyalty card to get us to fill the ground/renew our tickets. Ask them to give something back, even if it is a photocopied bit of paper, and it's a different matter... My gripe with you is the way you make the above personal, how my gripe with the club is personal and that I somehow wouldn't be involved with cancer research if it wasn't for my mum. I've raised money for all manner of charities over the years. I won't even mention the crass tin rattling comments you made on Essru's board. For the record I agree with Hypo on this, no normal person would comment on a posters absence by saying "Oh I hope his mother's not dead." You knew exactly what you you doing/saying. I'm heartily sick of you winding people up here and then running off claiming we've all misinterpreted you. I'm not sure if it's that or the way you seem to think we're all stupid that annoys me the most. I won't waste my time complaining to the mods about you. Three times I have complained to the mods about it and three times they've ignored me without so much as a reply. It seems to be a theme, ignore it, hope it goes away. To draw a final line under all of this, do not ever, ever, comment about about me or my family. Put me on ignore, as I will you, and just **** off.
-
Well Einstein, it's what you do write that annoys me and many, many other posters. Don't try and avoid the issue. You deliberately seek to annoy people with your never ending agenda against the anti Lowe protagonists. To claim some balance to the anti Lowe posts is just ridiculous. All parties concerned have gone, it's just you gnawing at the same titred old bone... Get over it. What part of "Leave my personal issues out of it" did you not understand? Why mention my mother at all? Why not simply say "We haven't heard from Daren in a while, I hope is mother is ok?" or "I hope all is ok" Did it not cross your tiny mind that your sentence was was at best, ill thought out, at worst deliberately provocative and quite evil. As for the autism refences, Saint Lard, my deepest apologies, I got so caught in the usual nonsense that i never once thought about what I posted and the implications. I'm so sorry.
-
And this comes from the poster who came up with "What happened to Daren Wheeler? I hope his absence doesn't mean his Mum has passed away?" My mother reads this messageboard, she was less than impressed with that bonne note. But of course you weren't really bothered about the effects of your posts, you were just "expressing a genuine concern." Well for your information that comment upset her. Happy? You don't debate anything you idiot. You talk about crimes and at what level of crime do we associate the same sort of spite aimed at Marlon King. Perhaps you could explain what makes Matthew LeTissier any sort of criminal? The police don't view him as a criminal so what gives you the right to make that sort of assumption? Nothing other than LeTissier was a critic of Lowe and we all know how you treat anyone who dares criticise Lowe .. You talk about Crouch's role in our demise, perhaps you could point out any point where I've defended Crouch there? What I would point out is the complete and utter lack of indignation aimed at Lowe on your behalf? You completely and utterly pummel Crouch/McMenemy here and yet Lowe escapes unscathed? And you wonder why people accuse you of blinkered bias?? And as for your self righteous indignation at charity? Please spare us! What was it you described me as? "A tin rattler?" It's rather ironic that as soon as someone makes digs at a charity or affliction close to your heart then you get all prissy and defensive. Perhaps those posters who, quite rightly, felt I was taking his comments about cancer and cancer charities too personally might just look at Numpteen's comments here and see that both sides of the vitriol take things personally. The difference here is I'm not a hypocrite. "Forgot to mention but can I just say these are not the classiest of topics to use on a thread discussing a charity fund raising event for people living with autisim." Perhaps you should dwell on that whilst using it to peddle your pathetic agenda...

I think if anything the court case actually kept Jones in his job longer than the performances merited. There was a lot of talk that Jones' job was in the balance long before the case came to light. That said he did a good job at Saints and to a certain extent, Hoddle benefited from his keen eye for the transfer market. If you ignore Lee Todd, Scott Marshall and Mark Paul, he had a good eye for Championship talent. A decent man who did a decent job and suffered needlessly.
-
And where are those reasonable points Rainman? I'm all or reasonable debate but all we get from you is the same tired old "Let's slag off anyone who was seen as opposing Lowe. ie Crouch/McMenemy/LeTissier/Pearson If it had ever crossed your slightly disturbed, yet apparently vast, mind you'd see that I've debated your points ad infinitum, I've often posted on here the failings of all of the above.... the problem is Rainman, that you don't want to take in the salient points and just bang on with the same old tired drivel. To somehow turn a debate about Marlon flaming King and turn it it into a LeTissier bashing session just shows how utterly pathetic you are. Anyone who can even mention King and LeTissier (in regards to "breaking the law") in the same breath is not a Saints fan in my opinion. The fact that Lowe has gone and so have the above protagonists is lost on you, you're stuck in a frigging time warp, you're not even Don Quixote, at least he had windmills to joust at, you're jousting at thin air. In the meantime you keep on thinking you're some sort of nemesis, keep thinking you provide any kind of debate, you keep on thinking you're some figure of importance here. You're not, you're just a sad little attention seeking freak. Give my regards to Charlie Babbit...
-
Come dine with you eh? Considering your usual form of running and hiding after being well and truly trounced on every thread you "contribute" to I'd suggest you'd have the following menu... Humble pie washed down with sour grapes...
-
The problem with you 19/Sundance/Flashman, is that you obvious think people on here are stupid. How many more times do we get you sniping and bit-ching at the likes of Crouch/McMenemy/LeTissier/Osman only to plead complete and utter innocence, "How could you think I meant that?" To somehow get a snipe in at LeTissier and McMenemy on a charity thread is just pathetic and to sneak it in under the auspices of "Well not everyone's interested in sport" is just the most ridiculous, childish, pathetic reason imaginable. As anyone who'd bothered to look at the website would tell you HAS has had other events other like a question of sport and golf day. Should we discuss whether it was appropriate to have a golfer at the golf day? A sportsman at the question of sport day? Utter, utter bol locks... It's boring, it's pathetic and it's incredibly stupid. To take a thread about charity, something nice and uplifting, and turn it into yet another vile and unpleasant snipefest is just so selfish and ignorant. The sad thing here is that people on here will defend your right to say what your want and how banning you would stifle free speech but when your every utterance is aimed at winding people up and push your "I'll have a go at anyone who is viewed as remotely anti Lowe" agenda, just what is the point of you posting? By all means debate the rights and wrongs of the likes of Crouch, McMenemy and Le Tissier but to take every opportunity to snipe and be generally unpleasant just show you for what you really are. A rather nasty attention seeking oddball.
-
Oh ffs give it a rest you weirdo. You're now having a pop because a charity event had a football theme? Jesus H... This thread is about a charity event. What a foul, obsessed, little man you are...
-
You know Frank, if i wasn't deliberately not looking to start an argument I swear you were veering towards the old "You don't like Lowe because he's a toff" debate.... Surely not!
-
I have the man on ignore and stated I had him on ignore, I can't help it if people quote him.... Trust me, the less I hear from him the better.... So anyway, looking forward to Orient? I know I am...

And very much right Weston, freedom of speech is an innate right but at what point do you go beyond proper debate and end up trolling? Football is all about opinions and apart from end of season tables and stats nothing, nothing, is right or wrong. This ridiculous witch hunt against McMenemy, Crouch and LeTissier is childish and pathetic. Surely you can see how counter productive 19c's behaviour is to your argument? His constant, embarrassing, tirades against the usual suspects goes beyond debate and ventures towards obsession and rampant trollism. It inhibits real debate and reduces everything to the childish squabbles you dislike so much. You want to debate Papa's knowledge of the offside rule, Pardew's 442 or 451 or Leibherr's plans for the future, there's enough smart, intelligent posters on here to stimulate your gray matter. But when people deliberately and consistently bait and provoke and with no real point other than to wind other people up then you have you question their agenda or their intelligence. For the record Weston, I wish Lawrie would stick to the after dinner market, wish Crouch would buy a ticket and become a fan again and that Matt had looked a bit deeper at Pinnacle's bid and just kept quiet and kept certain stupid autobiographical revelations to himself. But I will always be grateful for what all three did for this club in terms of managing, playing and help keep the club afloat. When the likes of Lowe and Wilde ran and hid and did nothing to help the club when it was in danger of going out of business, those three at least tried. To continually slag them off for trying and failing and yet leaving the other, more serious, culprits alone is just plain ****ing ridiculous....
-
Look at the end of the day if someone can come on here and detract from Lawrie McMenemys achievements at the club then quite frankly they are a moron, end of. We can debate whether or not he or Crouch deserve freebies ad infinitum but surely his record at Saints cannot be up for debate.... surely?? For the record, as Phil put it so well, with people with a lot less being expected to pay for tickets I don't think it's asking too much to ask two wealthy men to buy a ticket. They're both well off, buy a ticket and enjoy the new regime. Quite how this thread descended into debate on Christian values is beyond me and as someone who's bitten more than enough times, just why do we bother with Nineteen Canteen/Sundance Beast/Flashman? I had him on ignore and yet people insist on quoting his posts so I have no option bit to read his anti McMenemy/Crouch/LeTisssier/anyone who's spoken out against Lowe over the last few years drivel. Seriously, I'm all for free speech, not banning people unless they're genuinely really offensive but this agenda against anyone who appears to have spoken out against Lowe is seriously, seriously tiresome. Quite how anyone can slag off McMenemy's career at Saints or ridicule LeTissier in my mind isn't a real Saints fan. So Lawrie ****es people off by getting free tickets, so Matt made a gaff with Pinnacle and that book.... so ****ing what? Both people gave me my most defined moments as a Saints fan. They're human, they **** up but for crying out loud give it a rest.
