Few flakes in the Sports Centre area, about a couple of hours ago. Didn't amount to anything. As usual, I might add.

Is there a link for this, or do you remember when he was interviewed so that we can listen again on iPLayer..?
-
When interviewed, Pardew said we changed our formation around several times during the match, just to try and get back into it. That's quite tough to do, with everyone knowing their jobs. So we can add flexibility and brains to the CV of this team.

Some excellent photographs there. Notice on the website where it says Saints pics..? It brings up the old Southampton FC website.

I think people could just get on and enjoy last night's little moment, but realise that it's not one of those things that can be repeated. So if the same kid is doing it again and again, then someone should have a word with him, to discourage him, because the repercussions could be less favourable in the future. But let's enjoy the moment. It gave Papa an opportunity to show that he's a gentleman. And there are few enough of those around.

What that one of them was a Chelsea fan, or that saint_stevo knows one of them..?

Before the Beeb go and correct their faux pas, and make you look like a twerp, I saw it too. ...Bartosz Bialkowski saved three spot-kicks as Southampton beat Norwich 6-5 in a sudden death penalty shoot-out to make the JP Trophy Northern area final... Obviously, geographical knowledge is not a requirement for a BBC Sports researcher/reporter.

Same here. Recorded it too. I'll try to get it onto Youtube at some point [if I remember]. He has a nice knack for being in the right place at the right time. That's a bloody good quality in a striker.

I saw both Jacinto and Arias at St Marys playing reserve matches. I thought Jacinto had promise, but Torpedo had nothing. Jermaine Wright was OK, I suppose, but I couldn't believe how many opposition shots he used to deflect past his own keeper that would have been saved had he not got in the bloody way. I also couldn't believe how ordinary a player Neil McCann was. He seemed to be two seconds behind the match, and if he ever did get a touch, it was a bad one. I think he played OK for Scotland, in comparison. Bradley Wright-Phillips never produced any consistency at all. He seemed to have skill, but he sure didn't have brains. In the end, he was a bit of a waste of space. By comparison, Papa Waigo has skill, pace [too much it often appears] and, I think, a poaching ability which has yet to fully materialise. In the limited amount of times I've seen Papa Waigo, for me he's already a far bigger asset than the other players in the poll. Yet they were all hyped as something special. He's the first one who may turn out be so. Yeah, I could have chosen other players, but I didn't. And it was only meant for fun anyway.

That'll teach you [and anybody else] to think about leaving early on this team. I wonder how many people missed a classic ending, just so they could get to their car without hinderence..?
-
Far too busy even to tune into the radio this evening, but managed to make the odd check. Whooped when Papa scored [far, far better than Jermaine Wright ], then next I saw Norwich were 2-1 up. It doesn't matter, I thought. It's only the JP Trophy. But in my heart, I knew this team would fight, even as I was already forgiving them. And they did fight, and I'm so glad they did. I'm a believer..!
-
I knew there was a link between them. I'm with benjii on this one.
-
Well it was only meant to be lighthearted. Don't have a baby over it. Just noticed something. You lot are saying Papa's better than players who were tested at Premiership and Championship level. You sure..?
-
Fair point, but you'd be surprised at my ability to ignore certain things completely.

I was e-mailed the other day by friends who asked me to vote for some song that prevents some X-Factor thingy getting to Number One for Xmas. It wasn't RATM, but frankly, I couldn't give a toss either way. One day, Simon Cowell, or whatever he's called, will take his millions back into relative obscurity, having fleeced the general public enough times with his low grade entertainment shows, and we'll not hear from him again. Until then, I still have the remote control.

Damn..! There are at least another couple of players there I was trying to think of, but couldn't remember.

In an ideal world, all employees would take the rough with the smooth, instead of a few who have to be got rid of so that others can stay. In every case that I'm aware of, when a company has put to employees that they all take a pay cut, rather than several being got rid of entirely, the employees vote to take the pay cut. Yet, the practice of making a few jobless still persists. This ridiculous practice puts stress on those remaining, let alone severe stress on the newly jobless, and the company with the reduced workforce then works less effectively because, often they simply do not have the numbers or skills they need in anticipation of an upturn in the market. But what does it say of employees and unions, that they vote to keep everybody in work at reduced rates..? It says that they are perfectly aware of what is, and what is not affordable, provided they are kept well informed. And that they are not as selfish as some would tarnish them.

Saw this on MOTD. I winced as once again, the guilty party was Saints record signing Rory Delap; asleep, as usual. How many penalties and free kicks has he given away this season which have ended up as goals..? Without trying too hard, I can think of three. He must be worth several points a season... to the opposition. Superb free-kick.
-
Yes, but now he's an adult [i think], which means it costs you money to see his figures.
-
Oh, you meant RICKIE Lambert. I thought everyone was talking about that other bloke..?
-
But then he may lose some effectiveness through no fault of his own. But I'll concede on that one. Very good point.
-
A subject we have debated, and several of us are in agreement that he is too fast for the linos, who raise the flag, on many occasions.
-
Slightly tongue-in-cheek post. Papa Waigo..! Is he better than other recent random Saints players. Vote in the poll above.
-
He's always offside He's always offsi-i-ide Papa Waigo He's always offside You realise if you continue to not support the poor bugger he'll end up singing back: I wanna go home I wanna go home This is is the worst trip I've ever been on.
-
I'd like to hear something along the lines that the linesman got it wrong. Sung in the same part of Sloop John B: The lino is blind The lino is blind Papa Waigo Was never offside Try that next time.
