  1. No, it was Liverpool centre forward Roger Hunt. To this day he maintains the ball crossed the line. It did look like a goal, and in similar circumstances over the years, when footballs have been driven against the bar, only to bounce behind the goal line, the spin implied to the ball has seen it bounce out of the goal.
  2. Seeing as I was there, then yes the ball did cross the line.
  3. I suppose the concept of Subways, and other sandwich makers is fine. But in practice it seems that the best sandwiches are those made at home before you leave for work. These people pander to your uncomplaining apathy. Don't buy their product.
  4. So, for example, you'd allow ManU to get away with this then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsExRNxhAeI Oh no, I forgot that luck evens itself out over a season. Is that right..?
  5. It could actually be possible IMO, to put a chip inside a ball, and also to have them sewn into the players kit, say around the neckband. These chips would have to be embedded with the correct programming so that they could transmit where they are in relation to where the ball was when it was last kicked. This could then be flagged to an assistant referee or the ref himself. Of course, some means of ignoring the chips would have to be in place in situations of non-interference with play; second phase stuff, and the last player still being in his own half when the ball is kicked. End of confusion. Now some bright spark can go off and do it. I'll share 5% with Junior Mullet for the idea.
  6. Yes, I heard that too. Lambert obviously thought, OK boss, one goal coming up. If he carries on at this rate, he'll became a proper Div3 legend, and take his place alonside a few other Div3 Saints heroes. Let's hope he can quickly become a Saints Div2 hero too.
  7. Did you not notice how at times the team alternated between 4-3-3 and 4-4-2. Even when we went 4-5-1, we sometimes went back to 4-4-2. I call that quite classy stuff. It was unfortunate that we conceded at the death. That's more about attitude than formation, IMO. Next we'll have Papa or Antonio swapping wings.. or have they already had a go at that..?
  8. Stop it..!
  9. Humph..! that's your opinion. Not a single umm or err from Franny. Not a single diffrent class or cliche. Just clear opinion. I thought he did quite well during his half-time stint. Well done Franny.
  10. I like Bart. I like his style, and I like his ability. I also like his self belief. He's almost cheeky with it. He's not the complete keeper, but I hope he sticks around long enough to take over from Kelvin Davis, because he'll get just that bit better when he's older, and he'll make the spot his own.
  11. When I was a very young thing, I have memories of opening the front window in our house and listening to the roaring and smell of the Saints Speedway bikes from what became the Top Rank Suite and is now a housing estate. I saw the pictures of the men who used to race arnd the track in Red and White stripes, and when Charlie Watts sold up, and I became old enough to go and watch Saints [in 1966-67 season], it was to the football that I attended. It could so easily have been Speedway. I was transfixed by that first game, and have been a fan [distant or otherwise] ever since.
  12. Ok, ok, they're getting their act together. Even Real Madrid's players need to know who they're playing alongside, in order to make the most of what they have.
  13. Yes, and as someone said; but for the 10 point deduction, we'd be in 8th place, and IMO, certainly higher if we hadn't had to dither over the initial -10 points while we eventually got our act together, after starting our close season so tardily.
  14. Where is that..? That reads like it's a little SFC outpost.
  15. I'm sure Baj will come to your rescue.
  16. Thanks peeps, and yes, I believe Chris Temple is indeed a Cherries fan, but he keeps it very well hidden. Although, I've just thought that he could be a Saints fan, and has just commentated on a lot of Bournemouth AFC matches [which he has.] Anyway, he's a million miles better [and more local team biased] than Tony Husband... ARE YOU READING THIS, RADIO [local team] SOLENT..?
  17. I heard nothing from Solent. Schneiderlin has an ankle problem though.
  18. Off to post match chat. Now open.
  19. Forgot to open it. Come here now.
  20. In that case... excellent..!
  21. Tony Husband wasn't in evidence tonight, as apparently he went to the ballet. But alongside Dave [in muy booook..!] Merrington is Chris..? Who is he..? I've heard him before and thought him excellent, but RS always goes back to Husband, who is utterly crap, IMO. I thought Chris was nicely Saints biased, as a local BBC commentator should be. Unlike Husband who seems to enjoy it more when the Away team score.
  22. Good Radio Solent interview from Pardew. He manages to nail it every time.
  23. Yes, of course. But I still have the videos of the Premiership of Saints when they were in the Prem. And the passing and speed wasn't as crisp as it is now. Of course, the opposition makes a significant difference. Obviously, I'm talking about the speed and shape, within this division.
  24. For the same reason that Alan Pardew kept him at Saints when he got here. He said he'd win a title at Saints, and to stay and improve with the improvement with Saints.
  25. You have got to be joking. Some of the passing that was pinging around at speed, early in the first half reminded me of the Premiership.
