Also, it is really that difficult to imagine that the above qoute was an indication of the board's intentions at the time, but shortly after a bid for Lambert arrived out of the blue creating a new situation? I would have thought it a complete lack of belief in their own ability to run the football club if they had said no to Lambert on the grounds of having released a statement shortly before. Constantly grasping for this contradiction to make the board look clueless seems a little too convenient for me.
