We have dominated a game at home, we have closed out a tight away game and now we have soaked up a potential comeback and turned it into a comfortable victory. Only question mark is how we will cope with a defeat, but with this team I would assume that they are able to bounce right back. Brilliant stuff

Let me start by disqualifying myself from the discussion as I do not see entire games, only highlights from Saints Player. But it seems to me that the above statement was true last season also, meaning that the reason he scored fewer goals last 10/11 than in 09/10 was that he was playing deeper (and at times, wider!). From the highlights it seemed a recurring sequence that Lambert dropped deep, spotted the runners, and made the pass - always eerily precise... So to me he is just continuing that development - the big change in Rickie's role happened last season. All IMHO. Without seeing entire games. Etc.

Having followed the Mark Pauls, Mark Peters and Dani Rodriguezes of our youth academy, I'm surprised to find a former youth player with a respectable career that I can honestly claim to have never heard of...

I didn't expect this to turn into a debate on technicalities about the academy - more a reaction on the number and quality of players coming out of SFC recently. "From recent times I actually think we have provided a number of great players for the top tiers of English football. Question is if the picture is similar for other clubs or if we really have a very good academy?" And again: who did I forget?
