  1. Yeessssss!!! Brilliant goal from Lambert! :-D
  2. Finally got the stream working - we are actually playing rather well!!!
  3. 4 cet
  4. Maybe something will pop up at http://forum.wiziwig.eu?
  5. I did a fairly extensive compilation of Saints youth in this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?31876-SFC-Youth-Academy-currently-active-professional-players
  6. Chaplow, de Ridder, Hooiveld and Cork have been tweeting about this and posted pictures on their twitter profiles over the last few days. Also (as usual) some nice banter between the guys. Twitter is a hotbed for rumours, but it is also a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the everyday lives of footballers. And by the looks of it, they really do seem to enjoy each other's company...
  7. Wait - does this result mean that we are back on honeymoon now?! ;-) Two league defeats this season that have both been followed by a win. That's the real test - we will lose games but how will we cope? Rather well, so far ;-)

    Jos the Boss

joshooiveld20 jos hooiveld My moment of indredible stupidity costed us the game!! #unbelievablygutted
  9. Reading the title of the thread, I was expecting the "are we ready now or do we need one more season in this league to be better prepared for the PL?" question. And the answer to that is that you can't take anything for granted and you simply have to go for promotion as soon as you have the slightest chance. The question actually posed by the OP is more difficult because to a certain extent the difference between "real football" and "extremely over-hyped multibillionaire playground" is between NPC and PL. And once you're in the PL, there's no looking back... Obviously I'd love for us to get promoted, as I don't have to care about ticket prices - and being in the PL means more tv games
  10. But what can we control? I'd love to hear Nigel's take on what can be controlled...
  11. Amazing that we had 21 players in action over the last two games. I absolutely love the depth of our squad and that NA keeps blooding youngsters along the fringe players.
  12. Thanks for the update!
  13. Good to hear about Gobern. If you look at Gobern-threads on this forum you'll see that (to a certain extent) Saints fans agree with your view and some are expecting Oscar to become a good Championship player. If you consider how a majority of football fans feel about former players it's actually quite telling that Gobern is not entirely discarded as someone who will always be crap... As for the Lambert issue... phew!
  14. And our friend Oscar scored in Huddersfields 3-0 demolition of Sheff. Utd: http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/sheffield-united-huddersfield-15406060/
  15. Video of his impressive performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVDe1cBWFwU
  16. Couldn't get the Sun link to work properly, so here is another: http://www.footyplace.com/featured-football-news/premier-league-squad-lists/ What would be more interesting is a list of notable players not included in the 25 man squads (if any?)...
  17. WTF?! Scary stuff :-( And this paragraph could have been worded in a little more context sensitive manner: "All summer, Saints manager Nigel Adkins has been searching for a new centre half as the club began an assault on the Championship."
  18. Welcome aboard the bus, Jos. Looking forward to seeing you play and forming my own opinion on your abilities. Hope you'll blend in well with the squad...
  19. I think the question from the OP is particularly interesting for us right now as we actually seem to have a large squad with competition for most places in the starting eleven. For that reason, I hope to see some of the fringe players being used against Swindon - we need to keep them happy, hungry and sharp too...
  20. We need to spank Swindon badly to teach them not to hire a fascist b*st*rd as their manager... even their sponsors balked at that appointment: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/21/swindon-di-canio-sponsor-gmb
  21. Bendtner's apparent self belief is extremely "undanish" if there is such a thing. But I think this is positive from a striker - no goal drought can get him down... One year ago I would have said that Bendtner was way to good for us with goals like this: Now he seems to have gone of the boil and looks rather ordinary. If he was to recapture his form he is actually a very good striker...
  22. I'm quite sure we've finally gotten rid of that mental barrier under Adkins!
  23. F*ck me. After reading this thread I was going to hit the bar - but I think I've hit the stantchsjun instead! It's a green pole right next to the bar...
  24. It's a nice little story and IMHO we need more of that stuff in football - just keep it tongue-in-cheek not pure hatred...
  25. Have you managed to calm down a bit since yesterday? You made an epic contribution in the matchday thread with your anxiety taking hold of you - I really felt for you
