The problem with leagues is that they tell you when to play, but friendlies you can do by arrangement.. It's probably more like "Well, the minivan didn't pass its MOT and nobody will hire to us without the money up-front, and then we haven't really got any deceent pitches to play on and you need a doctor in attendance for league matches and ...."
