  1. Tonight, of course, I'll be finding the nearest pub in walking distance with BT Sport to watch Saints.. Hope you get a quorum.
  2. BTT? As long as Hypo or Turkish aren't there, which might make my normal reticent politeness to disappear (the ****s). . Be in touch.. s'late.
  3. Hah! You never read Junk Mail... an earlier and, I think, the first Saints fanzine..
  4. No. But I do kick balls.
  5. The secret of comedy is always in the timing...
  6. F***. So do I tell my manager early I'm not available (not that I ever start, but it is a team/squad game), do I waste my season ticket or do I sell the match to someone? Hmm, lets wait for the next few results: Saints and my team's, and how many players we've got...
  7. Rallyboy, we'll get some Portsmyth fans along; would that help?
  8. heh, heh, I'm in a good mood (still laughing at Turkish) so I won't wave the red card.. besides I've realised how slow I am and probably wouldn't manage a scythe... maybe a solid body check? What sort of footwear do they require, white soled etc.? Maybe something between 5-a-side and walking football is needed, it was slightly worrying to get an 'Independent Living' catalogue (comodes, heatpads, wheelchairs) through the post the other day...
  9. Ramirez with two short range goals tonight.
  10. Bletch, Bletch, I'm so disappointed with you. Never mind the old blokes, what about the old biddies? Have to say that I qualify on the veterans aspect - indeed based on your age range would raise the average and balance out Ant. Obviously if it's all FA based they wouldn't like it but Tuesdays wouldn't clash with Thursday night training.:-)
  11. Will the money be reinvested in the team? Or has this thread ruined my attention span? [To be honest, I'm hoping it goes on next year's European tour.. ;-) ]
  12. I wonder how that would look in A3?
  13. Yep, you did, MLG did, The9 did, and even I know it happens although forget who is involved, and when, and who is impacted. So as I don't keep tabs on all the participants the particular instances do come as a slight surprise when they actually occur. I'm sure there are many more who are even less aware of how it all works, and really don't want to be ar*ed to know all the ins and outs. The bottom line is, it's bloomin' inconvenient. Last year I only saw the final match of the season because we had plenty of players and our manager put me on in the first half (normally I'm sub) and I dashed off at half time. The short notice changes are even worse.
  14. My girlfriend needs me. otherwise I'd contribute.. lol
  15. He certainly looks very awkward at the moment, like you get with growing teenagers.
  16. Yes, I was impressed too. A couple of under hit passes and failing to get past his man to start with but he soon adjusted and looked very comfortable. Not afraid to make himself available - he certainly didn't hide - and good control. It depends on both his physical and football development, but certainly a player to keep an eye on.
  17. A 15 year old has come on as full back for the saints tonight in the under-21s after an early injury. Making the team look even more fresh-faced (apart from Martina and Juanmi)...
  18. under 21s playing tonight:
  19. Anyway, keeps MU within striking distance; a win for them would have been very disappointing..
  20. Don't knock it mush. Better than selling off all our assets and property as a source of foreign exchange.. We've got to earn the money somehow for paying for all those nice Chinese nuclear plants at high guaranteed prices per megawatt..
  21. Reminds me of leaving Cardiff in 2003 after loseing in the Cup Final. In one of the Saints coaches somebody had put up a sign: 'Cheer up Arsenal, you won'.
  22. It's too bad that they keep changing the dates of matches at short notice - this has already been moved once, hasn't it? Fortunately the ferries available meant I get back late tomorrow, but I had been thinking of an extra day or two of holiday with the Monday game. Either way, moan over, thanks for posting.
  23. Wey hey, found a local bar with two screens (there's local footie on). That was a pretty intense first half. Romeu is playing well, even one of the local commentators commented how much he'd improved since he was first in England at Chelsea (?).
  24. That's my memory too, from a brewpub with wifi, which may explain it.. Thanks to the expertise here - Clapham et al. Once again this thread entertains and I might have another beer to finish it. I lost a bit on my fun Saints shareholding, but unlike Pompey "shareholders" I went in eyes open..
  25. Very true. But I don't recall you as a PTS nutjob.. :-)
