Ireland obviously suffering by not having Bazunu in goal..

I thought she was their best player at the Euros when I saw her at St Marys, although I accept any accusations of bias! Certainly had a higher level of fitness than the ones who played in the NI leagues. I've heard of players resigning when teams go full time as the money on offer short term just doesn't make up for all the potential downsides. It underlines that the difference in money does have a developmental impact to the game, particular towards the higher levels. It's a shame that there is no way to integrate 'amateur forms' into the game, although I suspect that Stevie Heighway playing for Liverpool whilst a student was getting plenty of 'boot money', but imagine getting back late from playing a hard game in the north to then have to go to do serious job in the morning. The advantage of not being very good and having to pay to play is that I've never had to go further than the edge of Hampshire!

I suggest you re-read my post carefully as it contains all the information to answer your question. Obviously somebody 'made it up'; whether it was written by the local candidate or Reform Head Office gave the text to cut and paste I haven't a clue but it's on the leaflet on my desk which I'm retaining in case I ever meet the twat. I'll ask him the question too: how much do you pay for a kWh of electricity. He doesn't look bright enough to understand the question. Let's forget standing charges for the moment although they really impact the poorer.

Just one quick question for WG, as he seems perilously close to spouting stuff from the Reform company leaflet I have on my desk here.. "We have raging inflation from energy cost and Net Zero as the Government put ideology ahead of energy security [!] and the cost of living". The rest of the leaflet is full of such inane and juvenile and innumerate trivialities. Shame I couldn't collar the canvasser.. How much do you pay for a unit (1kWh) of electricity?

What are they actually spending it on then? Functioning women's toilets, non collapsing seats (both personal experiences), non-rusting barriers, in date fire extinguishers, paying St. John's Ambulance in advance, making sure roof panels haven't got holes or won't drop off?? Even Man U don't have to bother with the latter!

Some people here are always trying to be funny on here but with you I can't tell. If you're serious what makes you write him off like that, as there are plenty of players who have moved up divisions and done well? He may not make it, but I wouldn't be so dogmatic in your statements because they may come back to bite you where it hurts. There's always someone on here who will then point it out for you, although it's not the sort of thing I can be bothered with.

I see the proposed takeover of Everton by 777Partners has fallen through. They had a period of exclusivity until yesterday..

Edozie also looks interested, unlike Mara.

Nah, I really won't waste my time doing that. Just that there are a few sexist and right wing prats on here and I feel perfectly entitled to get irritated.

Hmm, the streams have been useful but not having a need for viagra or those sort of naked women 😉 I find it difficult to give him my vote. There's quite a few I'd like to give negative votes to, but I shall try and be more Davefizzy like!

There's a 'latest transfers' thread in the Guardian and good to see THB as an entry, but it's also interesting the released players who are now free agents. I've no idea of the standard of some of them - I noticed Anthony Martial of Manchester United and Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco - so maybe worth keeping an eye on? As long as we're not paying. At least we haven't got Les Reed around now to insist on paying Monaco £19m for him..

Southampton 1-0 Leeds - Saints are Promoted!!

Yes, I used it both ways. It probably helped as I was using a crutch and got ushered to it by a sharp eyed steward. The same crutch that got pinched by some lairy Leeds fans on the trip back to the station. Most of them were fine but it doesn't take many who can't hold their drink to spoil things. -

You've been taking lesson from Rallyboy.. -
It's always quite amusing looking back on some of these threads: some posters do like making themselves hostage to fortune.. My Portsmouth area football team mates were quite busy on our chat with the banter before the game but surprisingly quiet now!

On the train home from Victoria.Mostly happy fans on here. Had to wait long enough for a pint and had a few before so time to put my aching foot up and snooze. Bastard Leeds fans pinched my crutch when I put it down for a second. Upset I suppose at us beating them three times in a season.. -

Captain Mordaunt who was very relaxed about Portsmouth's bankruptcies, owing £130 million and £32m to HMRC? -

Good old Grauniad newspaper, just given me a fright after I'd just bought my rail ticket (£21 - not bad)... -
I think that's unfair. I'm sure some of them have their own flat. But did you have anyone specific in mind?
-
Trying to get a ticket outside the ground is just another football bet: you've just got to hold your nerve. I was in Cagliari at Italia 90 and my promised ticket didn't turn up so wandered up to the ground on match day and bought one off a local. The fact it was with the Irish didn't worry me, although the Carabinieri looked at me askance..

Yes, I was going to comment on the 12 o'clock opening having done a little more research. Being a cheapskate and retired I'm not adverse to the odd 'Spoons pint. I'm sure we won't be the only Saints fans going via Victoria! I think my train gets in at around 11.30 and is one of the quicker ones, some seem to be 20 minutes slower. I need to sort out some red and white ribbon for my crutch! -

That's my rough plan too, although I'll be arriving at Victoria so no early one in The Hole in the Wall, if it's still there.. Any pub recommendations? Not too far from a station or bus-stop as still using a crutch. I may not take gio1saints' advice and have more than one.. -
Well, he's certainly in one of the photos. He may be short but looks very solid.
