Ha! You may not believe me but I'm actually at the 'puter swapping between this thread and preparing an adaptation of that story to tell to the kids at local primary schools!

Thanks for reminding me. I've just put a bottle of sparkling in the 'fridge and suggest everyone do likewise so that all PTS readers and contributors can have a virtual toast together when the final moment arrives.. Had a morning not of golf but of skiing (thats for Corpy, by the way..) and was eager to get back to read the thread. You can tell when things are happening by the number of pages unread! Being nasty doesn't come easily to me, so I'll promise now to donate a fiver to any AFCPompey revival, as long as it's below conference level...

Done my bit...

Just had my morning chortle before pootling off to do a 4 hour! English class. This thread never fails to get me laughing. Thanks guys. A timeline sounds like a good idea..

Until West Ham, in a panic over losing points and automatic promotion if they go pop, drop them an anonymous million in a brown envelope...

Oh dear, here come the people who don't like it when they can't verbally bully people.

Presumably it's because the administration protects the company from _previous_ debt but it doesn't stop payments to enable to continue operating in administration; nor would it prevent people and companies from withdrawing current and future services. So although, for example, SSE can't cut off the leccy for the previous debt, if the administrator - who has taken on the responsibility - doesn't pay, a disconnection could still take place on the new debt. Perhaps one of our insolvency expertss could clarify.

"surely you realize, it's quality, not quantity, I wouldn't expect the usual minority of southampton fans, I hasten to add( the less inteligent Southampton fans ), to understand what that means. " Fair enough, but he won't be complaining when they haven't got enough players to fill the bench? Not that they can afford first teamers OR an academy at the moment.

New job for delldays and other brave souls?

I've seen naked cleaners on offer in the UK: a few years ago in the newsagents window of my little 'Ampshire village, would you believe. It's not a new idea. -
They'll be a big mobility scooter roll-up on the day.

Well, I'm not really an expat in terms of well-paid work and an ex-pat community, but the skiing is better than in Dubai! Economically though, there's not much to bring anyone here although teaching wise (which is what I do) it's even more pants in the UK. Perhaps I should do a year or two in Dubai or HK etc. to top up my savings!

Nah, it sounds like a 19th c opera chorus, which is when it was written. Here with the words...

"I can firmly put my tail between my legs and back off slightly and not put my foot in it". That whole report explains a lot. There we were giving Appleton a hard time as someone infected by the Pompey bug, but I feel a bit more sympathetic now. That was a difficult admission to make and he deserves some respect for it. Perhaps he should have listened to the Baggies director who advised him not to go. Not sure where it leaves Lumpitt..

The above AA quote is a bit odd. Surely he was CSI's administrator and his responsibility was to them? If he was favouring one of their subsidiaries one would have to ask why. As so often in this affair, more questions than answers. There are enough potential truths in this account to give some aspects credence (at least in the context of Pompey!), but the figures don't add up, and I still wouldn't buy a used phone from this guy, let alone a car or a football club.

Heehhe. It frankly doesn't matter to us which money-laundering loan-shark you end up with. If it hadn't been Chanrai it would have been somebody else on the list.. "Hopefully". My gawd, that's clutching at straws regarding the £17m. Plus you are charmingly ignoring all the other creditors, including small organisations who will find their losses difficult to bear, and the taxpayer where, admittedly those millions will be lost in the wash. Your attitude stinks, although that might be because you haven't changed your incontinence pads recently...

Good grief, it's been us that have told you each time as a new chancer has come along. Why do you think we find it so amusing; everything that's happened has been so predictable. To many denials each time it's been said, and many denials of the fact that you were trading insolvently. You've spectacularly missed the whole point of this thread.

Haahhhaaa. Just been reading the Guardian: "The appointment of Trevor Birch as the administrator of Portsmouth is facing a further challenge from other accountants who claim he should not have been given the role due to a conflict of interest." Conflict of interest! Guess who is challenging him. No, really, guess! Mad cackle at Sue Towers here as I read the article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/20/portsmouth-administrator-conflict
