  1. Hmmm, wonder how much flights from Geneva to Southampton will be....
  2. Heck, in training and in our matches we get told off if try to be too ambitious and not play the simple pass back to a supporting player, and then move, of course. Appoggio - support - is a frequent call.
  3. Just back home after a clean stopout! I was dreading looking up the score as I had a bad feeling: managed to get the first 20 minutes on the internet before I went out last night and it was all a bit hoof-ball although SW didn't seem to offer much. Still, 3 points and sounds like a good Ricky goal. Now off to pack my kit for our afternoon match. Hope I get off the bench today...
  4. Baj, had a quick look on the Italian Sky site and a general nose elsewhere and it doesn't appear to be on here. Find yourself a cheap internet cafe and watch a stream??
  5. Why does everything come at once. Tonight I have a choice of watching Saints on an internet stream (or possibly at local bar), going skiing in the moonlight from 3500m up at Cervinia or a dinner at a 4 star restaurant at Courmayeur. As it's a bit cloudy the 4 star dinner has it and at least I'll avoid the stress of watching a televised Saints. Pleaaase Saints, do us proud..
  6. I came to The Lounge and saw we were still only on page 756, which I thought had been getting a bit boring, but I've had another chuckle today! Paying cash, hah!
  7. Right. Showing my age as I vaguely remember: had some postage stamps from there as well.
  8. sweden changed in the 70's if I recall - can't be bothered to google..
  9. Deppo, you were out of order there this time, and I think you know it.
  10. Just been watching this and shouting at the screen: MOVE! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12735023 The bit after 1 minute there are people down the hill on the LHS watching as if it's just a high tide and making no attempt to make sure they're as high as possible. I can't make out their behaviour; it's frightening.
  11. They'd like to, and indirectly yes through their control of finances.
  12. Incidentally, how can a professional player have "no left foot at all"? I'm low level amateur women's football and I'd be ashamed if I couldn't use both feet to at least a reasonable standard even if I have a preferred one for longer passes. In training I consciously try and use my weaker foot.
  13. Actually, I thought that was what he was doing! I can't comment as I've hardly seen him play, but how long ago was it that he was playing for Eastleigh? I don't think he's had years of coaching in some academy set up nor was he full time, so I'm sure there's room for improvement, particularly with more uninterrupted playing-time under his belt. He seems to have the basic requirement of some pace, intelligence and reasonable attitude. The £1200 a week quoted is a lot more than he'd get in an office job, as a mechanic or even as a young graduate trainee so let's hope he doesn't moan but sets about improving himself so that he can earn more.
  14. I've got a ZX80 somewhere which I got from a relly who worked at the assembly plant. Found I couldn't do much with it so gave up. Not just memory Jonny, I started with a 2.8k modem then jumped to 14.4k... so I still have a bit of respect for bandwidth...
  15. Rallyboy - well put, particularly this summary: This was also interesting: any flesh for the bones?
  16. If you like beer? So do I. That's why I don't drink it in the ground.
  17. Load of b*****s I'm afraid. Every weekend with an Old Firm derby the domestic violence statistics in Glasgow go up. Maybe due to the drink, maybe being wound up and letting it spill over out of the ground. If your theory worked, fine, but unfortunately it doesn't. What is it about some people and drink; I suppose it reduces their inhibitions and you see their nasty sides?
  18. I agree, plus a few oldies whose bladders aren't as long lasting as they used to be. I'm far more forgiving of the latter. Mind you, it sounds like Turkish is a bit of a consumer himself. I don't think I've ever left early in 45 years of supporting when it was up to me, know how much my bladder holds (mind you, the queues at The Dell!!) and have only been late arriving through traffic problems or queues.
  19. Let's hope so! I'm sure we've got a turbo mode somewhere, but it's a bit hard on the engine... From the reports here it sounds like the Kingsland has taken over the role of the Upper West Stand. I remember reading a report in The Guardian many years ago after we'd beaten Stoke, I think, 5-0 under the floodlights and the reporter wrote about some old moaners' comments as they left the ground.
  20. Just had a look at their table - snortle. [A cross between a snort and a chortle with a hint of snig ger]
  21. so is Arsenal's passing.. More on Saints please...
  22. It's was a car, a cheap one! Not a flaming penis extension.;-)
  23. Hmm, I'm wondering about the proportions.... On the table here there's a nice prosecco del valdobbiadene so I'll leave the Bison Vodka alone...
  24. You should have asked 4 years ago! I was getting rid of a perfectly good Fiesta with a little bit of rust, I was worried about the local salted mountain roads. To re-register it in Italy would have cost more than the car was worth, so I took it back to the UK and sold it there. For £100.
  25. Actually Alpine makes me laugh, which is pretty good going for a guy who seems to have no sense of humour. I try not to be gratuitously offensive on here, and have only ever received one infraction, which was for insulting one of the right-wing trolls IIRC, and still feel it was justified. But I will stand up for myself if I'm in the mood, have time, can be arsed, etc, so end up commenting and it certainly isn't bashing: I keep my comments to a minimum. Alps does like give it out, remember. His last criticism of me was that I was attention seeking, which coming from someone with nearly 10 times as many posts was quite amusing. Anyway, I bet the Alps where I live are higher than his, so naaahh!
