  1. Well, just on here to remind you of tonight's game! 😉 I'll be down the pub with an outside TV, with a few team mates, so we'll probably get bitten by mozzies. I could have been upset with Alex for not believing me, but instead had a good laugh as he illustrated my point so perfectly.. As my friend said just now, don't get involved, but I do wonder what his triggers are? The apple tree? The sponsorship? Her having an opinion? Football encompasses so many levels, from grassroots with £35 a month subs, through the leagues to teams like Eastleigh and upwards. There may be some top pros who don't enjoy it but the rest of us will carry on playing or watching their mates in a pub team etc, and the sex of who is playing will only be an issue for a few sad people and the even fewer who need to be critical on online forums.
  2. Yeah, right near me. Obviously didn't have enough fluids before the game.. Cough Cough.. I'm just dripping..
  3. Me!? Sarcastic? I've learnt all I know from you!
  4. Who is Taylor??
  5. You have it. Can I have the first BBD WTF FFS?
  6. Badoom tish! It's all in the timing..
  7. Good grief! There already? Have I got KO time wrong?
  8. This morning I had breakfast with my bestie in the shade of my apple trees. She hates football but is good enough to be one of the sponsors for my football team. I mentioned about the people who come onto these threads pointing out how 15 year old boys etc etc, and she asked me why people who aren't interested make the effort to comment and comment negatively? She pointed out that she doesn't comment on things that don't interest her. I was able to point out that there aren't many that do, and they are well known on the forum for their particular hang ups..
  9. Well, I cannot tell a lie, I'm mad enough to go although combining it with other local activities. I'm trying out the full range of Steam Town Brewery as obviously hydration therapy is very important in this weather. I understand the Eastleigh Spike Island massive are up for it today..
  10. You're right, but I think SaintJack has won this thread at a canter - much appreciated.
  11. I've only seen the Downs clip, but I respect your judgement. Sometimes talking about players we forget that it's a team game and I noted that he seemed quite good in bringing colleagues into play in a way that we've missed since Che left, if not before. Hopefully his physicality will aid others, and in that respect he can't do worse than TP.
  12. This, I'm afraid. Two year contract perhaps, but 3?
  13. And they're off!
  14. Thanks! Just about to do an online lesson and will sort when finished. ta..
  15. But Trousers never gives an opinion!:-) Not one he can be held to, at least..
  16. Ah, you can't receive PMs..
  17. I'll have it. PM you Monday morning, if that's OK?
  18. I've not followed Infantino's time waster at all but now off to the pub to watch England v France, where all the players _will_ be taking it seriously.
  19. It was the mention of BBD that threw me! Maybe a pre-season with Still will help, but whether that helps fitness, touch, pace, passing, effort or any other aspect remains to be seen He must have something to have scored a few goals but I certainly haven't seen what it is.
  20. I'm not sure; the recent departures of Purfield, Pike and Haaland at the end of their contracts could mean our offers were turned down as it talked about them being in discussions. I haven't followed up to see if they've signed elsewhere as the OS just says pursuing other 'opportunities elsewhere', thanked them and wished them all the best for the future. They might not even be staying in professional football, following the path of other slightly older players with alternative careers.
  21. Yes, just had a look at the video and he shows a different level of dynamism and urgency over TP. Brings other players into the game quite well too, giving and going into the space. How he'll perform with us will be interesting to see, but he does have age on his side.
  22. Frankly professional sport always rather surprises me. When you have to pay to go to the gym or local pool, and pay £25/35 a month to play grassroots football all the figures bandied about seem high to me! But yes, KWP was probably on more..
  23. If I were you Saint86, I'd delegate that aspect of it to Farmer Saint..
  24. Oi, I played full 11-a-side last season and was 70 at the end. Mind you, I did only last as long as TP but probably did run around more than BBD when I was on the pitch and at around the same speed. I thought that's where they used to do the beheadings and then paraded the heads in front of the crowds? We're going to have a better motivated side next season, I can see.
  25. I wondered why people were mentioning the word Jota on the P&O thread, and didn't understand. Now I do and wish I didn't. 28 and three kids, that's so sad.
