  1. all of which assumes forest will lose, which I'm not at all sure will be the case.
  2. 10-1 if anyone's interested. mind you, they are 8th...
  3. I think they are in real trouble - manager a bit green, player wage bill 80% of turnover, crap ground and little chance of planning on a new one, and club for sale. That equals a drop down to scary positions in my book. might put some money on...
  4. transl: we are keeping our old kit because we can't afford to have it redesigned.
  5. I knew we'd be raped by Palace because they're that sort of team and had money on Shefki Coochi Coo to score first and them to win. But I feel oddly like we'll win tomorrow, as we seem to do well away and against teams who are 'expected' to win. That said, I think Akinbyi will also score, as he weighs over 10stone. All of our lot will just fall over when he nudges them, and Davis will lie down again when he's through on goal or just not come for anything beyond his goalline. Hello NickH.
  6. Post of the year!
  7. No Jan, you've got it all wrong. Johann Cruyff actually scored some goals as well. Still, good that he's joined as Wotte's - I mean Jan's - assistant. God we were crap last night.
  8. I prefer winning football matches.
  9. I think we'll lose this one. We're all a bit blase about it and that's when we drop a clanger. Hope not though.
  10. Phew! Thank goodness you're posting again! We all really missed your insights.
  11. So Skacel goes into midfield and Surman is offski. Sounds like good business, if you ask me. Hope he can defend...
  12. Are they worth 10 points? Maybe. It would be a lot more palatable to lose these two (especially Lallana in my view, who doesn't really look like his heart's in it, as opposed to Drew) if we could assure ourselves that we would use a bit of the cash to get some good loans in. Sadly I fear this does not enter Lowe's tiny mind.
  13. I was waiting for you to pop up again, Mrs Davis. Reading down the above thread, see if you can spot a few people who don't think he should play for England. I still don't think he's a 'damned good keeper' but am man enough to admit that one of those saves he made in the last game was - sharp intake of breath - world class. Really excellent. And clearly kept us in the game. So, as a Saints fan, I am happy - although most on here seem to think that the best thing to do when we do well is attack posters like, say, Alpine, rather than celebrate the win or goalless draw or whatever it is has caused them to go all funny at the keyboard. Oh, and by the way, the 'issues' I have include that I still don't think Davis is as good as you salivate about every day with a 'y' in it. I think you might just have to deal with someone having a different opinion to your own.
  14. Forecast? tee hee
  15. That is brilliont.
  16. Win. 6-3, obviously. PS how many runs of the Stokes goal will Setanta show before the match? I think 8.
  17. Good grief.
  18. Might it not be someone getting out before administration?

    Loan Window

Keith Gillespie is exactly the sort of player that scores against us. (ie alive) Damn.
  20. Sadly, probably not, although we have a desperate need for a big lunk up front and a big lunk at the back. Oh, and a big lunk in the middle. Lowe must love it when we're on an unbeaten 'run' leading up to these and transfer windows as it gives him access to even quicker 'nos' than before. Jan probably doesn't even make it as far as knocking on the door.
  21. I saw all the others play except Hollywood (although Peach was a very early recollection, admittedly. Fantastic penalty taker, as I recall. Ho hum. Can't remember - was Golac on the right?
  22. Rupert shouldn't have shut them.
  23. Francis Benali? That's a joke, right? Bridge was excellent, and my pick. Benali was probably the worst professional footballer I've ever seen. And I used to mark him out of the game at school when he was a (pretty decent) striker (and had a 'tache at about 13 years old...)

    Dyer

Portsmouth's bean counters aren't. His 'secret' is paying sky high wages to mercenary players, then leaving when he senses the money is running out. And leaving a terrible mess to clean up in his wake. Obviously why he didn't take the Newcastle job - they're running low themselves. And obviously why he left us - Rupes wouldn't open the cheque book for him.
  25. Where is Davis? (Joke) Shilton easily the best. Wells wasn't bad. No-one's mentioned Gennoe or Katalinic - not saying either should be in with a shout, just surprised at their non-naming....
