This. Anything under 3k for an easy London away is disappointing IMO. It'll be well under that. Hopfully the quantity of beer and lack of the 'bovril and blanket brigade' will result in a good atmosphere anyway. Setting my alarm for 7am, let's have it.

I think this is my favourite ever paragraph from your blogs. Nicely done. "Pompey Chief Exec and former Head of Integrity (ha ha ha) at the FA Mr Lampitt, gave a remarkable interview on Saturday in which he attacked the Portsmouth Evening News for a story stating that Pompey owed £1.6m to the tax man before calming down and admitting that they did in fact owe £1.6m to the tax man.* This is what’s known in the interview trade as ‘Doing a Cotterill’."

Correct. Even if most of their best players aren't good enough to play for us, surely it's in our interest to buy them for peanuts and either loan them out or let them rot
-
Think he'll be on very thin ice with the fans. Needs a very good first half hour or so if/when he does get a start in the 1st team.

Don't think we've ever been in for Maynard, Hooper won't be sold for the sort of money we want to spend, and Sharp is just out for a massive payday. If I'm not mistaken that is..... Southampton is not an unattractive move, I just think we're not AS attractive as we think we are. I think we're seen as a bit of a flash in the pan, new boys in the league. Is say that to a neutral footballer looking in, we'd be on a par with Reading, Birmingham, Boro, Hull etc. I think that we're a better club than all of those, but they'd all say exactly the same thing

Agree. Shocking support. 21k must be our lowest of the season? I thought these 'final 10' tickets actually sold? An embarrassment and total let-down. And booing?? Yes we playe badly, but we've just been promoted and are still in the top 2. People that booed need to have a look at themselves IMO. Expectation has clearly got too much. Turn up to SMS, get behind the lads, and don't f*cking boo them if they don't win, because we're not going to win every week.

Lots of bad performances, Guly and Harding stood out for me. Harding was so slow to close down and got skinned a fair few times. Guly was awful. His first touch was ending up 5 yards away from him, and if it wasn't for a blind linesman in the 1st half, he would have had 6-7 offsides against him before HT. Literally every goal kick and long ball to him, he was off. Got found out by a competent linesman in the 2nd half. We just didn't play as a team. Leicester closed down well and we didn't have any ideas. And when they had the ball, we let them have it. Quite clear that without Lambo, Lallana, Chappers and Fonte, we haven't got the backbone that we need. We looked too lightweight to take on a physically strong Leicester team. Usually skill and good passing gets us through against teams like that, but we had none of that either. Fuming that that cvnt Nugent scored.

Perfect end for me - beat P*rtsmouth 5-0, confirming our promotion and relegating them, then confirm winning the league away at Middlesbrough, then dedicate the Coventry game to Markus. Flag out and everything, just a massive promotion party. Simples.

Oxo is class, Wenger has lost the plot, Ramsay is sh*t, Djourou is sh*t, and Walcott literally hasn't improved since we sold him. Passing it out for throw-ins and very little sign of an end product. Oxo will be twice the player Walcott is.

I think we've got a great chance of picking up loads of points from the other 'top' teams. Reading the WHU forum, they admit they are sh*t, they win ugly and are lucky to be up the top. They got outplayed by Forest and should have been 2-0 down before they were awarded a penalty (which wasn't a penalty). Their team is static and has no width, I don't think they'll handle our movement. I think we'll go there and win. Brum away is a big test, they don't concede many there and are unbeaten, but they'll try to get at us and that helps us. Boro are fading away, nothing to fear there. Sounds stupid but it's the away games at places like Posh that I worry about more

**** off Portsmouth you grim skate game throwing cvnts. Bet their fans are celebrating it.

What about Paul Jewell?

Need Brighton to concede for my bet. W00t for Peterborough
-
w00t for Cov

These results look very decent for Saints, not so good for my accumulator. Not that I mind. C'mon Forest.

Anyone else think this is going to drag on and on, leading to a desperate search in the last few days of the window?
-
27 goals in 85 appearances, and only 4 assists. Not at all prolific. Potential, and a bit of pace, but I'd much rather have a goalscorer.

It wasn't so much a dig at Celtic. Was thinking more along the lines of why would an Englishman want to stay in Scotland when the quality of opposition is so poor? It's literally 50/50 on whether you win the league and domestic cups - no-one else comes close, which buys you a couple of games in Europe which you rarely win. Fulham, Middlesborough, Birmingham, Stoke, and even P*rtsmouth have done at least as well as Celtic in the last few years. Oh, and on Jos Hooiveld, he's been performing better than Jose Fonte this season. Clearly he wasn't given a chance at Celtic and you've lost a very good centre half for a fairly small sum

If anyone wants any further evidence to back up the 'SPL is a pile of toss' arguement, Dunfermline vs Inverness CT on SS1. Bottom half League 1 standard at best. Think I'll be switching over to El Classico at 9pm

Sorry, I couldn't understand your OP.

Crystal Palace make enquiry about Jason Puncheon according to SSN. Club should tell them £500k and be done with it IMO
-
your club has no chane of getting a celtic star player .
Jack replied to hooper88's topic in The Saints
You have no idea about our club's situation, history, or ambition. We were in the top flight for 28 years, untill 2005 when we were relegated following serious mis-management of the club. It took a few years, and another relegation, but we are building quickly now. When we get back into the Premiership, and it's not going to take long, we will be there to stay. You never know, we may even end up loaning you a couple of our younger players to get a bit of experience at a lower level. -
This. With Cork on the right again. Morgan and Deano have to be the middle pair when all three play.

Would love a Saints squad with that sort of ability!

I'd stick with Saturday's starting XI, maybe just FR to come back in for Harding. I see no reason to change the midfield, they were very decent on Saturday. Dropping Deano out of the XI, let alone the squad, would be madness
