I agree. Full of sweaty people with body odour, no seats and on the way home it's full of eaten McDonalnds or general fast food rubbish. I know not all trains are like this but some routes are terrible; usually Central Trains or whatever they are called now. Plus the ticket prices are ridiculous for the treatment you get, unless of course you are fortunate to be able to afford first class all the time.

We do it because it's a necessary evil. If I could do without my car for work, then I would as I hate our congested and rudimentary road networks, especially in the suburbs. Today alone, I was verbally abused twice, had some loon offer me out and block the road so that I couldnt get away and all because he didnt like the fact that I was driving 35 in a 40, he tried to swerve around me, misjudged the speed of oncoming traffic and nearly got hit head on by a dustbin lorrry. He then gets out and runs at my car and makes a complete **** of himself by offering me out and then standing there when I ask him if he's just going to talk a good fight or actually do something. He meekly walked back to his car and drove off. I dont need that ****, the traffic is bad enough and then you get all that and it' not even 10am. :-) The A34 is about seventy miles of boredom, I hate that stretch of road into Southampton, even worse after a game when it's wet and dark. I find the M40 and M42 fine though.

That song in the TV ad for 'Mercenaries two' is ****ing me off. Is at a real song or what? Bryan Adams -Anything I do, I do it for you. ********. Totally dire, inspid and girly ****e. Should have been banned.

My squad would be: James, W Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole Beckham, Barry, Lampard, J Cole Heskey, DeFoe I thought about Beckham in the centre with Walcott on the right but I think we'd get overrun so maybe err on the side of caution. I'd like to drop Lampard too but that seemed to create problems elsewhere as Gerrard is out and i'm not sure about a suitable replacement. Rooney hasn't done anything particualrly good since Euro2004, hence I'd drop him. Then again, he's due a good game so maybe he'll rise to the occasion against Croatia. Probale Capello team: James Brown, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole Beckham, Barry, Lampard, J Cole Rooney Heskey

LOL at Khan, he was made to look a complete gobby **** by the dingified Columbian. Having said that, Prescott looked awesome and never even hit him with his more powerful right. Khan should have gone on the backfoot for a round or two and then maybe stepped it up later but maybe the pressure of trying to put on a good performance for SKY got the better of him. Then again, Prescott looks like a future world champion and even when they showed him in all the previews he looked like a man who had a mentally tougher conditioning and his background maybe be what made him the tough and confident guy that I saw this evening. I know posturing is all part of boxing, but when he said he'd knock Khan out, I sort of got the impession that he really had the utmost confidence in doing that. I had to laugh at Khan though, giving it all the mouth and then struggling for breath when he was on the canvas, totally humiliated and outclassed for all to see. Where was Allah when he needed him?

Just ban kids from pubs - full stop. Pubs are for blokes to get ****ed , **** the barmaids and have a fight on the car park afterwards.. Just to add, if you know who the parents are then maybe they need a little visit from a few of your regulars, the more nasty ones. The parents have engineered this and they may need roughing up a little too. On a more serious note. I agree, the local swings, slides etc were removed from my area last year, due to the council being sued too many times. I really do worry about the country in another ten years time, basically, you need to look at what latest trends and litigation cases are happening in the USA today and then prepare for their imminent arrival over here in a few years time. It was the USA who started all this nonsense with their backward ways and you can guarantee that what happens over there will at some point become the norm over here.

Had to laugh at one of the officers comments that they have to be culturally aware as different cultures do things diffferent ways and have certain beliefs at how food should be cooked or conflicting values on food hygiene. So, if they are filthy bastards is that ok then as long as the way they prepare their food is paying full respect to their cultural beliefs? It's either hygeniec or it isn't? I fail to see what religion has to do with it. That's fine I suppose, but they should then have a sign up outside the restaurant advising customers that the food and hygiene standards fall below what would be accepted by normal standards, but the restaurant are following their religious beliefs. I can then make a conscious choice to still go there or go somewhere who have a higher commitment to hygiene and public health but a lower commitment to their cultural values.

Can't fault him really. Keegan is such an honest and open guy that he really has no place in modern day football, he's just too principled and has an old fashoined view on ethics and morality. I don't doubt he's a great guy and the type that football needs. However, as a man of principle, he is like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole in the Premiership,he's best away from the cesspit that English football has been reduced too.

http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/09/02/walsall-rejected-saints-gerrard-bid/ Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen has revealed that the club did reject a deadline day bid for wantaway defender Anthony Gerrard - from Championship club Southampton. A number of Championship clubs were linked with the 22-year-old, including Coventry and Birmingham, but the Saints were the only ones in with a firm bid before the transfer window closed. Their offer did not met the Saddlers valuation for the player, who is under contract at the Banks’s Stadium until 2010, so the club stood firm - he is their player. Mullen said: “Anthony is our player. If he plays with same level of commitment and desire that he has shown throughout his time at Walsall Football Club, then he will continue to be a very valuable member of our squad. Walsall chairman Jeff Bonser added: “I stated all along that the player would not be sold unless we received a substantial offer.”

I'm not so sure Benjii, that stuff is everywhere these days and you'd be surprised at the type who actively use it. People associate it with lads and people in their twenties but it's not the case and to some people in positions of power it's as widely used as an aspirin for when they are feeling a bit run down and need a quick mood pick up.

New mob to enforce the law - would you want this job?
Barney Trubble replied to Alf Tupper's topic in The Lounge
Typical Labour trying to Police on the cheap and make a real Police officers job even harder. If it carries on like this then the Police will have no rights or power in ten years time. Basically, Labour want enforcement officers for every tiny misdemeanour that a member of the public makes and then they can be pounced upon and fined. It will be an offence to step outside your own house if it carries on like this for much longer. Let the Police have some power back, take away all the red tape and let them Police without them having to jump through hoops to make an arrest. Maybe it will be an offence for a Police officer to arrest someone in a few years time :-) -
Thanks for your excellent customer service skills, I use the two words 'service' and 'skills' in the loosest possible form in your case. Do you have special needs too Baj as you don't seem to have any manners or have understanding of how to communicate with people in an effective manner? If so, I apologise as I am on the spectrum too so I can empathise with you, if you don't, then you are a very curt and rude little man -I hope you don't mind me expressing myself in a negative manner too, I just thought that it'd be better to communicate with you in a primitive manner so that you have a better chance of understanding me. If I wanted to pay by cheque, postal order or cash, then I would have done so, the options of how to pay are perfectly clear, but that wasn't what I wanted to know. Anyway, at the time I wanted to pay by paypal but encountered a problem, nothing that couldn't have been sorted with a quick PM.
-
There are are a lot of references to people 'LOL' on here, yet my cyber senses are telling me that nobody is laughing at all ;-) I do find it sad though that members can't even PM a mod or admin on here, hardly an endearing way to treat so called 'members'. I was planning on subscribing a few weeks ago but was having a few paypal problems. I then asked an administrator to contact me to ask for some advice on how to get round the problem, I found out that I couldn't even reply to him/her because the reply function on the PM system had been disabled to replying to an admin. Now, that is sad. BTW - Happy bithday to Essruu :-)

Well done boys, we kicked their ****ing lucky asses with what sounded like a magnificent display of the art of playing football. Mate just called me[Derby fan] and was gracious in defeat, he said that Derby were never in the game and that we took the **** at times and looked like a side who won't be struggling at the wrong end of the table. He added that he thought we looked poor on paper as he'd hardly heard of most of our team but that we shouldnt get too excited as Derby will go down if they play like for the rest of the season. Well, whos going to get extra ******ed tonight? Come on you Saints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Come on! Let's give it the filthy Derby bastards!!!! They have it coming for their flukey play off win and for getting me the wettest I have ever been!! I hate Derby! Come on Saints, don't **** it up by defending this lead or giving away a goal in injury time. This is our time!!!

It would appear that we have been all over them. You just know whats going to happen don't you? Sorry to be negative but the writing is on the wall.........please abuse me if I am wrong :-)

The MD80/2 shouldn't really be taken out of service now, I remember when SAS first came into Birmingham airport a few years ago, for a huge airline I was shocked at the condition of their fleet that came. Although, their attitude to safety was spot on but the MD's are of a bygone era and I agree with the likes of Flybe and Easyjet. Then again, a lot of these airlines are all members of star alliance so I don't know if that would have any bearing on if they were told to take them out of service. I always remember the SH6 that I used to use between BHX and Exeter, I think it was affectionately known as the Shoebox, now that was an odd aircraft. I think it had a baggage compartment in the nose of the aircraft and had to be loaded nose first or it could tip.

Croatia will beat us, based on that performance. I just don't think Capello is prepared to take a risk, just like other previous managers and they revert back to the same old players who have failed previously, it's like they view it as some sort of safety net, which proves to be consistently anything but that. Walcott should have been given a clear run last night, as should of Bentley, we have to take a calculated risk with these players as we generally underperform with the so called experienced players anyway, it may not work out, then again, it looks like another case of same old, same old. What was the point in not playing Walcott in the U21 game if he had no real intention of playing him, it would have been better to let him play the night before than actually do nothing with him, he willhave gained nothing from this week. I think we do have the talent and players but we have this mentality of mollycoddle and play them in ten minutes bursts here and there. Why not do something radical, say drop Lampard and Rooney, who have been consistent failures through one thing or another, Rooney is class but he's done nothing of particular note since Euro 2004, well apart from a decent goal against Russia, then he negated that later in the game anyway, lets give others a go? Is Capello prepared to take that risk? I doubt it , but I really think that the usual suspects will let him down again when it comes to the crunch. What will Capello have learned from last night? Well nothing that any football fan/pundit couldn't have told him four years ago. Capello seems to be following in the footsteps of previous failures and unless he's prepared to take a risk then history may repeat itself again.

Interesting, he did have to type in a code through the remote control. He said they change the code every few weeks and then those behind the hardware update the code and so forth. Seemed like a bit of a cat and mouse game but we'll see what happens. On that note, Goodnight
-
I assume so Baj, all I know is that he bought a piece of hardware from ebay and plugged it into the cable socket and it picks up all the channels, Sky, Setanta, Box Office etc. He flies by the seat of his pants though, so come the weekend the pub will probably be closed and he'll be nowhere to be seen for weeks :-) I don't know the specifics of it but know that he had a small box, DVD player size, this was attached to the white cable socket, there was no icon on the screen to confirm it's authenticity so i'm 100% sure that it was dodgy to do.
-
No they didn't. You must be thinking of something totally different to what I'm on about. I watched the games the weekend and shall be watching them again this weekend. They are stiil available to buy over the internet and work fine.
