Had to laugh at his interview on SSN last night. He has already started his fogging tactics by announcing that Popmey effectively sold him for £5m and that they need the money so bad that he had no choice. Sort of trying to make out that he would have been happy to stay but he loves Pompey that much that it was the decent thing to do. He's like that slippery eel that always wriggling away looking for an escape route. He's got a very good amount of time to sort Spurs out and I hope he fails and the media will see him for the lying, manipulating mercenary that he is. All in my humble opinion of course.

Better than PWEI? Also, is there a definitive answer to Morriseys question - 'How soon is now'?

The Last Time you Thought Britain was GREAT
Barney Trubble replied to JohnnyFartPants's topic in The Muppet Show
Very poor tiiming though by the SAS. I remember it well and it was half way through a John wayne film, talk about taking liberties. -
I think we would have accumulated even less points this season if it wasn't for KD, he's made some amazing saves. It's sort of like going back to the 90's when people used to say we were a one man team as in Matt Le Tiss, now we have KD takings over the reigns. Ok, tongue in cheek but you know what I mean.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7681520.stm I think that some on here have no real understanding of the pure hatred and contempt for life that some sections of our community have for the morals and ethics of what Britain holds so dear. You'll all assume that this is an isolated incident but there is so much going on onder the radar that willl come to light in the next few months. Come and live in some of the suburbs of Birmingham if you want to smell the hatred, no doubt some of the white middle classes who post on here have never lived in a community where their religious beliefs, maybe Christianity or Catholicism are not made welcome and are in the minority, Islam is the only way forward in some peoples eyes and by hook or by crook they will ram that Islamic dogma right down your throat and if you don't like it then they'll see that you shut up or move out. No doubt i'll be accused of over reacting, well my answer to that is please come and live here for a few years and i'll happily accept your apology that you were wrong after all.

Yes. Attitudes are contagious and he has a bad one and I wouldn't want him near any of my employees. If he can't be arsed to have a shave or dress appropriately then that tells me a lot more about him than you obviously understand. Could you imagine a workforce with everybody turning up for work like he does? He's a lazy and no doubt is riddles with slovenly bad habits and attitude. We were raised in a very poor family on a flea pit of a council estate but my Dad never allowed standards to drop, he shaved every day and insisted that my brothers did too, if I went out to work like my postie then he would have pinned me up the wall and beat seven colours out of me, he was a stickler for hygiene and ensuring you looked clean, he used to say that when people see you looking like a scruff, it refelcted badly on how people thought he had raised us. By the way, he actually represents a comany and will work about 30 hours a week out in the public eys so the 3 seconds he's at my house is irrelevent. Also, he's a lazy **** who doesn't turn up for three days or so and then delivers about ten letters in one go; this is the same for everybody on his round. He has had numerous complaints and is incapable of stringing along a coherent sentence when you ask him a simple question, he just sort of grunts and then drags his feet along the floor as he walks - obviously too lazy to lift up his legs. So yes, apperances are hugely important to me, when I was a Plasterer I always took some clean clothing or a change of shoes for when I went to and from work, others took the **** but that's the way I have been raised. Right, that's a good few bytes used of my free posts.

My Postie wears filthy trainers, dirty tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie. He looks a right **** and only shaves about once a month. Do they not have any uniforms to wear these days or has management got that poor that they can't be arsed to monitor how the staff look. If my postie was working for me then he would have been taken to task about his appearance by now, there is no excuse for coming to work like that[unless a builder or other trade in which you get dirty] and in my mind is a reflection of what an employees attitude is generally to be like, also, the general public will build up a negative perception of the company who such a filthy scruff works for. What happened to the good old days of a pleasent Postie with a nice uniform and some basic manners?

We're caught between a rock and a hard place. If we get rid, then who with any real current managerial credit would consider a move to such a volatile club like Southampton. He'll basically have no control over players coming in and out as we can't afford to bring in and we are desperate to sell any player to a club that bids a reasonable offer. I'd stick with Jan at the moment but maybe look at bringing in someone else to work alongside him who knows how to get players motivated and has respect. Then again, Ray Graydon, formerly of Walsall, is someone that I think has that ability to move us forward again and he would be cheapish. I know he's only done things at lower level but if you can teams promoted with a chairmen at Walsall that is tighter than Rupert Lowe, then he must be worth an outside bet if it became a necessary evil to oust Jan.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I sent an item 1st class last week[not recorded], the ebay buyer has yet to receive their item so I assume it's got lost/stolen. Do I have any way of recovering the item or is it a case of tough ****? It wasn't valuable, just means I'll have to give him his money back I assume.

Gordon Lightfoot - If you could read my mind

As others have said - Cole is just not a popular figure in any case, the boos were not for his mistake but because he's a nasty spiteful little excuse for a man. He's everything that makes modern day football so bad, he has no principles or ethics and is self, self, self. I like the fact that Rio Ferdinand chooses to take the moral high ground with it all too, the likes of him and Cole all **** in the same pot and I do not need to be given a ticking off from a drugs cheat. I don't boo England players as a rule, but there are certain ones, like Cole who I really couldnt give a toss about. Do people really expect us to care that his feelings may have been hurt? Do you think he gave a toss when we didn't qualify for the Euros? If he doesn't like it then he can retire from the England set up.

I'm impressed Tiggs, first time ever I have agreed with you. Far left, far right or down the centre. It's no worse than the religious loons spreading their bile and divisive hatred disguised as being in the name of God, but as it's their belief it's tolerated by a democratic society. If Joerg was some Saudi religious nut berating any person that doesn't believe in Islam and condemning women as second class citizens if they even dare to walk alongised their owners[sorry husbands] or have the audacity to show their face then nobody would bat an eyelid and he'd probably be allowed to preach his sick hatred openly on the streets of the UK. I find it laughable that some are happy that this guy died and they think themselves as reasonable people - you're all sick ****ers too if you think that someone deserved to die in that way because they had some pretty hard opinions. Put this in the Muppet Show as it'll turn into a load of pretentious ******** from a few of the holier than thou brigade - I have to LOL at the self-righteousness of some on here. :smt042

The longest delay is at Police local level, which is usually stage three or four of the process. West Midlands Police are one of the poorest performing at clearing CRB applications so that'll take a few weeks there in itself, then it'll go to local level at other constabularies. As he has some previous but as not had a previous CRB check, then I wouldn't expect it back for 6-8 weeks. The enhanced CRB will document everything, they are very thorough, hence why every Police force will check out the application at local level. It's down to the individual company to make the decision whether to employ, they'll assess the risk and see if it's worthwhile employing him. Don't think a criminal record is the end of the world for a good job. Sometimes the offence can appear to make you look a right ****, when the circumstances are revealed, which they will be at a review once your CRB states any offence[if it comes to that] then the picture can become a lot clearer. I had to interview a staff member who had a serious violence offence but when she spoke to me and gave me all the documents from what happened in court then I could see how this person would have did what she did, I supported her case to my manager and she agreed with my decision and the employee carried on working and has been a model employee since. Sometimes a series of events can conspire against you and you get caught up in a moment that you just can't help what happens. I always say that some people get caught and some people don't, so just because they have a clear CRB and someone else has a bit of history then I reserve judgement as most of us have committed offences, but just never got caught, plus a CRB is only as good as the day it is dated as clear. We have recruited staff with a clear CRB and then when we do a new CRB, which we do every year, an offence will show up since they have been in employment with us - you can just never judge what a person get's up to once they are out of work time. Of course, if your mate has been a total **** over the years, then justifying all his crimes will be very difficult to plead to a panel of people, especially if they are the type who see thing's in either black or white.

Spot on. We need an experienced midfielder to lead and a nasty bastard of a centre half.

All quiet on the western front. A beautiful book and so the film is really good too.

Fair play for him for having a go at the media but he surely he realises that there are more constructive ways of expressing yourself. He had made a total fool of himself and I was actualy embarrassed for him when I listened. It made me think that he must have once had a statement of special needs

Same old, same old............................ Let's face it, we were totally inept defensively and unless we get that sorted then all the good build up play will ultimately count for nothing. There is plenty of good stuff happening on the pitch but it just seems to fall apart on the edge of the oppositions penalty area and we look like a sunday league side when trying to defend. I'm not even sure Svensson is up to it anymore, when he returns that is. It is with a heavy heart that I say that I don't think he will make that much of a difference as he seems a shadow of the player that he was. I doubt we'll get a consistent run week in and week out with him, of course, I hope he makes me eat my words. I can't help but think that although he's better than what we have and has that experience that we definitely need, I still think we should try and buy a no nonsense centre half, in the mould of Darren Moore and count every game that Svennson plays as a bonus. I watched us last week at Doncaster and remarked to a mate that, at times, it was total football going forward but more like total b*ll*cks when defending.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=61681&postcount=66 Last paragraph - just my opinion of course.

Having not long got back, I can honestly say that, at times, it was a case of total football going forward but it looked more like total b*ll**s when defending. I'm happy that we won of course and we did play some good stuff, albeit in patches. We certainly weren't convincing, then again, neither did we look like a team that would be relegated. First half I would say Doncaster were the better side, if it wasn't for Kelvin Davis then they might have been comfortably ahead, that's a measure of how much Davis has improved because he was outstanding again today and I can't believe that I was one of those in the 'Davis out' camp. Second half we played some good stuff and I can't help thinking that with some inner belief and confidence we are a good side waiting to break out. I just got the impression that certain players didn't want the ball and were rushing to pass it on to someone else, instead of relaxing, looking up and making a more suitable pass or one that didn't put too much pressure on who was about to receive the ball. Overall, we deserved the win but Doncaster were poor, so forgive me if I don't get too excited. McGoldrick had another hissy fit when Surman wouldn't let him take the second penalty, he walked off giving it the big one and you knew then that Surman would miss after that little spat. Special mentions to Kelvin Davis and Ollie Lancashire, I thought Ollie had an excellent game and didn't show any anxiety when going in for the challenge, which he could have done after his recent sending off. He looked composed and was constantly talking with Davis and Wotton and I hope he starts again as I think he wil work well with Svensson. Right, off for a few beers, happy for a change on a Saturday evening.

You know it's a small crowd when ....

The funny thing is that we may as well be at the Dell as attendances are unlikey to get bigger unless we improve. Oh and there is no bottleneck at the bridge after the game:-) -
Another thing to consider are the additonal costs that go hand in hand with more fans, such as extra Policing costs. So, I do agree that ticket prices should be reduced to under £20, but i'm no financial expert but all you may be getting are more fans getting in cheaper, which is a good thing, then again, the Police costs or other outgoings are then increasing. To be honest,

Well if he can't take a good kicking with good grace then he shouldn't be in the Army. What the hell is wrong with these people who join the Army? It's there to toughen people up, both mentally and physically and to condition them to fight wars for ****s sake. Do they seriously think that an enemy is not going to give him and other wimps a good kicking if they caught him? Or does he think they put him in a nice warm room and give him a copy of the geneva convention and other nonsense that actually counts for nothing in the heat of the battle? If you join the Armed Forces then expect a good kicking if you are a wimp, the kicking is to toughen you up, wimps and PC'ness have no place in the Armed Forces and that loon is better off out so he can work in an office or something, photocopying paper and stapling them together. Having said all that, lines have to be drawn and that line is where it gets to the point of humiliation, as in ****ing on people. I'd happily get kicked out of the Army than have some Corporal ****ing on me. I'd be prepared to go to the point of no return at stuff like that but fighting is just part of the training.

Just join the Englandfans+, I was up to 25 caps but gave up after we failed to qualify for the euros and never renewed as I can't be arsed with it anymore. I would advise you to join though if you are serious, it costs a lot of money but if you get to see some good away games then it 'll be worth it. I had a few weeks in Portgual for Euro2004, great memories and planned to have a month for this summers but McClown ****ed that up. However, football changes and so does life and I can't prioritise football anymore. You'll definitely get tickets for the home friendly games and probably for some of the qualifiers. Just build them up bit by bit and then you'll have enough caps to get tickets for the away games, which are usually difficult. Accommodation and flights I booked over the net and didnt go with the official packages that they offer as they are a rip off. You can get flights for next to nothing if you're prepared to country hop a bit and have the time free to **** about with that.

Single, Gas and Electric is currently £50 a month for both. They are both in credit but once I start using the gas again then no doubt i'll need to increase the DD for Gas. I work office hours and at home just evenings and most weekends, some Saturdays I am out most of the day too. When I have the Gas on I only heat the rooms i'm using by using the TRV's and that is the only use of Gas as my cooker is Electric. The only electric that is runnning permanent is for the house alarm, Fridge/freezer, cordless telephone. I suppose the combi boiler is switched on but not programmed to come on, but the hot water is readily available, if needed.
